Hi Ladies! Can I ask a rather intimate question please? 🙈

Has anyone had an intimate wax during their pregnancy so far and if so what was it like? I haven’t had it since the start of the pregnancy but was thinking of getting it soon as shaving is really annoying with the belly getting bigger. I read somewhere that the pain of waxing can cause contractions though so not sure if it’s ok.

What do you think?

How painful are yours normally? Mine aren’t too bad and they weren’t any worse. But I had it done near end of first trimester. You’re making me think now about whether to go for my next one… I only need to have it every three months.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 09/11/2023 18:44

@CharXo it's such a long gap between appointments in the first 2 trimesters isn't it?!
I reckon once they start coming regular from next week I'll be sick of seeing her though 😂
I dunno about you, but I can text or call mine but then it comes across like you're just being a nuisance

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/11/2023 19:16

@CharXo you can get acupuncture when pregnant, just go to one who knows about pregnancy. I got it through my last pregnancy

CharXo · 09/11/2023 19:24

@CheeseAndCrackersx nope.. I’ve just got the number for medicom if I have any issues.. and the only time I’ve spoken to them they were really rude down the phone so I’ve just chosen to be quiet and put up with the pain. Defo speak to your midwife about it if you can 😀

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ah but I usually lay on my front to have my back/bum treated so I presumed I wouldn’t be able to have it done by laying on my side? Maybe I will phone and ask because it’s constantly uncomfortable and I’m walking with a limp!

LavenderSweetPea · 09/11/2023 21:29

@Ebonythoughts I haven't during pregnancy. I'm a bit of a wuss tbh and I just thought I'd give myself a pass during pregnancy. I have however been finding shaving increasingly difficult as bump is getting in the way, but I was thinking maybe taking a little mirror into the shower might be a solution.

My wax place won't do waxes in pregnancy, but I don't think it's a big risk so I'm sure plenty of places do. if that's going to make you feel comfortable I say go for it. Take some paracetamol before though, I bet it's more painful than usual because of the increased blood flow, and particularly if you've been shaving the last few months too.

Ebonythoughts · 09/11/2023 23:47

It’s not too painful but I’m worried I’ve left it too long now since I’ve not had it during the pregnancy and I’m 27 weeks now. Ideally wanted it as close to the due date as possible but now wondering if I should get it now or not at all.

Ebonythoughts · 09/11/2023 23:50

Yeah I’m debating whether to just keep shaving till the babies out and then go back to my routine, or put my big girl pants on and get the wax but everything feels pretty sensitive at the moment so I’m scared 🙈

CheeseAndCrackersx · 10/11/2023 00:54

Is hair removal cream any use @Ebonythoughts? To save worrying about waxing and struggling with shaving x

Ebonythoughts · 10/11/2023 00:55

I don’t think you can use them in intimate areas.. it would be ideal if possible

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/11/2023 06:53

@CharXo hope something works for you!

I had waxes through my last pregnancy and having waxes in this one. From memory I think you have to get it done four weeks before you expect to have baby. But I didn't want hair getting in the way in case I needed stitches

Shrillwaffle · 10/11/2023 10:18

Ah new thread! Thought it had gone a bit quiet 😅 hope you are all well x

FTMCHD · 10/11/2023 10:55

@Ebonythoughts Woowoo is designed for intimate areas, that’s what I’ve been using!

anony1111 · 10/11/2023 16:38

Is anyone thinking of doing a hypnobirthing course or previously done one with a previous pregnancy? If so is there a particular one you would recommend?
I'm looking at doing a digital course rather than face to face, I have been looking at the positive birthing company one as it's only £40 but would be good to get any recommendations if anyone has any please 😊

I’m taking the “yes please, all the drugs” approach to child birth 😂

anony1111 · 10/11/2023 23:10

@redxlondon 😂😂😂 I don't blame you, that was me the first time round!
I had a big baby in my first pregnancy and feeling extremely anxious about birth this time round so gonna give hypnobirthing a try

CheeseAndCrackersx · 11/11/2023 07:18

Is anyone else feeling like they're really not getting a pattern in terms of kicking etc yet. I know we only take note really from 28 weeks but surely nearly 27 you'd be getting an idea but I'm starting to struggle. I feel he's been really quiet more often since 26 weeks began.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 11/11/2023 07:31

@CheeseAndCrackersx yes I'm 27 weeks and some days (especially when I'm rushing around and busy) I think I haven't felt her in ages and worry a bit. I mostly do feel her if I eat something and lay down

Goblet93 · 11/11/2023 08:35

Found you all again!

Hope everyone is doing well. I’ve had my first growth scan and everything is fine. Can’t believe I’m nearly at 30 weeks. Has it felt like it’s flown for anyone else?

Cheetocat · 11/11/2023 10:10

@CheeseAndCrackersx I feel like he always moves in the morning but other than that it's quite different every day, often eating a meal will get him going but not every time! I'm 26 weeks today.

Kelb79 · 11/11/2023 11:41

@CheeseAndCrackersx i was gonna ask the same thing today!
I’m 25 weeks now and have been getting quite strong movement with sone obvious patterns over the past few weeks but the last couple of days have gone quiet… I’ve felt them but nowhere near as much 🤔🤔 trying not to worry but….. 🫣🫣😵‍💫😵‍💫

@anony1111 im booked in for an anti-natal/hypnobirthing hybrid in person course 👍🏼 starts next month. I’m getting anxious about the birth (especially after seeing consultant!! 😐) so want to do everything to calm myself and I’ve heard nothing but good about hypnobirthing! There aren’t any NHS anti-natal classes in my area - only a really crap and disorganised portal with a few videos on it! So luckily I found one that does both. Can’t recommended unless you’re in Cornwall though 🫣🫣

CheeseAndCrackersx · 11/11/2023 12:34

@Cheetocat & @Kelb79

I'm the same in the morning and after food but like you not always.

And with them not feeling as strong, I was starting to feel them outside too but now it's like everything's changed so I'm worrying is my bump growing but he's not and that's what is causing the change 🙈

Mummapenguin20 · 11/11/2023 12:37

baby still has lots of room in there do you ladies who are feeling less movement weaker movement have back ache at all, I have done the whole I can’t feel baby and had back ache where baby was in my back baby also likes to slide into my pelvis witch reduces movements too by 28 weeks baby has less room to spin turn and hide ❤️ that being said if you are worried about not feeling baby always call your hospital for advice. Xxx

anony1111 · 11/11/2023 13:26

@Kelb79 bit of a drive from Leeds to Cornwall 🤣 yes I have read good things too and my sister in law said it made her birth so much calmer the second time round. I think I'm gonna purchase the positive birthing company one as it does have good reviews online

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 11/11/2023 18:40

@CheeseAndCrackersx I can fully relate to your comment about sometimes not feeling baby move and I too am finding it hard to establish a pattern.. I swear yesterday for me it was the quietest I've noticed our little girl to be but today I have felt her move alot more so that gives me some reassurance. Also I mentioned it to my midwife on phone and she said at this stage they do have quiet periods still but that's because baby is sleeping? x

And just out of interest ladies what was your biggest baby weight at birth? @anony1111 what was your biggest baby if you don't mind me asking as I have just seen your comment further up the thread x
