@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I just know I change/go up a week every Friday and have it in my calendar each Friday. I find it awkward when ppl try put it into months though (ie divide by 4) so at the min I’d be nearly 8.5 months but I’ve still 6/7 weeks left 😂 it really confuses anyone who’s never been pregnant before.

Shrillwaffle · 21/12/2023 14:06

@CheeseAndCrackersx i got told they do a birth plan at around 36 weeks but to start thinking about what you want now. I think it’s all done a bit late personally, I’d rather have everything allready done 😅

@Ebonythoughts thank you for the number of weeks! I'm never sure what I am, but I think my due date is 4th Feb (on my matb1 form) however each scan said something different! I had three scans around 12 -13 weeks.

How are you all keeping track of how many weeks and days you are? Is there an easy calculator?

You should now only use the due date from your dating scan, not date of last period like some apps will tell you. Your dating scan due date is 40 weeks, so you can count back from there.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 21/12/2023 14:55

So that's all of his clothes, blankets etc washed and put in his drawers ready.
And his hospital bag is packed 😀

Just mine to pack next once washed stuff and got my hospital knickers 😂 then I'm all prepared.
My aim was to have it all ready for start of the new year and I think i will 😀

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/12/2023 16:30

It is confusing to keep track! It would be great if I could adjust the app to reflect the due date rather than LMP. Seems I'm almost 34 weeks, so six left to go...

Cheetocat · 21/12/2023 17:37

There's an app called 280 days where you put in your due date and it counts down x

CheeseAndCrackersx · 21/12/2023 18:31

Is anyone 32+ weeks now drinking raspberry leaf tea?

novamama · 21/12/2023 19:28

@CheeseAndCrackersx me! Just bought it and had my first cuppa! I remember thinking 32 weeks is so long away and here I am 😂

msp2023 · 21/12/2023 19:33

I'm 34 weeks tomorrow! Haven't started raspberry leaf tea yet - any brand recommendations?

There are some good apps like Bounty or Emma’s Diary that you can put your due date into and it shows how many weeks/days with really good articles about what’s developing that week.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 21/12/2023 22:14

Does anyone else feel like a constant walking oven 🥵 forgotten what feeling cold is like 😂

anony1111 · 21/12/2023 22:23

@CheeseAndCrackersx yes! I'm a warm person anyway but add a baby into it and I'm constantly a sweaty mess 😂😂

redxlondon · 22/12/2023 07:26

I was hoping / expecting to feel warm but I’m constantly cold as always, lots of jumpers and blankets still needed!

Meeting · 22/12/2023 08:22

What's raspberry leaf tea?

Well I can guess what it is but am I meant to be drinking it?!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 22/12/2023 08:28

Thanks for the app recommendations! I was just using my Flo one I tracked periods on. I have counted back from my matB1 form due date.

@Meeting it's meant to make the active phase of labour quicker. That plus six dates a day which are meant to soften the cervix.

I just ordered my Aniball replacement balloon and some perineal oil and will be starting on that next week once in 35 weeks. Has anyone else tried this before? I thought it massively helped me last time with the feeling and muscles needed to move the baby up and down in the birth canal. I didn't need interventions or tear with a back to back baby, which surprised the midwives and consultant

Mangotango39 · 22/12/2023 08:47

I am boiling but it is 35 degrees where I am (sorry!) haha Having to talc

CheeseAndCrackersx · 22/12/2023 21:46

Has anyone dyed their hair whilst pregnant, either this time or previously?

CharXo · 22/12/2023 22:05

@CheeseAndCrackersx I have! Had both bleach highlights and dyed all over

amyg1985 · 23/12/2023 08:21

I've dyed mine too - all over gloss/semi-permanent @CheeseAndCrackersx

Couldn't find any real evidence that it was harmful to baby and just made sure to have a window open/not leave it on longer than necessary. I did wait until second trimester. Booked in again in January because imagine won't have time for it after baby comes!

Ebonythoughts · 23/12/2023 11:25

Yeah and I think I went a little crazy lol. Wanted to just cover greys initially but then decided to go for red highlights…love it though… nice treat before baby comes x

Ebonythoughts · 23/12/2023 11:26

I waited till I was in the 8th month though and didn’t colour all pregnancy because of risks of extra sensitivity.

Cheetocat · 23/12/2023 13:11

32 weeks today, so excited!

marymac97 · 23/12/2023 15:54

Hi all, I’m a FTM and currently 31+4 weeks pregnant. I have an anterior placenta which sometimes causes reduced movements for me, I’d been into mau once around 2 weeks ago for this and baby girl was wriggling away I just couldn’t feel it.

Yesterday morning after going to the loo, I wiped and had a bit of blood mixed in with mucus. I phoned up mau and went in to be seen, I hadn’t felt baby girl but again they hooked me up and she’s absolutely fine. They did a cervical exam and my cervix is closed and the said I’m not showing early signs of labour. Had a growth scan and she’s looking completely normal for gestation. Fine. I went home.

This morning the same thing has happened but with more blood, cramps and not feeling her move again. I go in, they hook me up, she’s absolutely fine. They said they don’t know why I’m bleeding but to go home and come back again if it persists. Im home now and still can’t feel her move and it’s making me paranoid even though a couple of hours ago all was fine with her on the monitor.

Has anyone else with an anterior placenta experienced this level of lack of movement? Should I be phoning them back and saying I can’t feel her or is this my new “normal”?
Has anyone had a bloody show this early on before? Starting to worry I might go into early labour in the next couple of days and just feeling really anxious with it all! Sorry for the long message and thank you if anyone reads this far x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/12/2023 17:52

@marymac97 oh I'm sorry how stressful. I have an anterior placenta and I can go 3 or so hours without feeling her move, especially if I haven't drunk much and am a little dehydrated.

Could they see contractions on the monitor?

I've not had a bloody show but I did lose a chunk of my mucus plug - midwife says it can grow back. So hopefully if yours was plug it will grow back.

Have you felt her move again yet? Honestly if I hadn't, I'd give them another quick call. They might say you don't need to go back, but at least they will log it. And you'll have some peace of mind either way from dealing with a professional.

marymac97 · 23/12/2023 19:42

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 No they didn’t pick up contractions on the monitor, I’m hoping it’s just a case of losing some of the mucus plug and it’ll be fine. Just worried as the blood is mixed in with it so I’m not sure if that makes a difference? I have felt her move a little since I posted but I had to lie down and really concentrate. I will phone back though if I don’t feel anything more, like you say it’s better to have peace of mind. Thank you for your reply xx
