@undercoverhero74 I am 31+3. Size 14 pre pregnancy (small height though) and I could really hide it if I wanted.
If I pull my top or wear something tight it's a very clear bump shape (I have not put weight on anywhere else either but my belly) but I could cover it .
I'm only up 3kg .

I actually really like my pregnancy body and feel abit lucky I'm not too big as imagine it's more uncomfortable . Baby seems to be wriggling with enough room haha

people are shocked when I say how far I am and I just say 'it's great - I can still sleep at night !' 😄

x

@undercoverhero74 yup, I’m getting lots of “you’re so small” comments. I’m only measuring 10th centile, size 12 pre pregnancy and 5”11 so baby’s got lots of space. I can’t get near my usual jeans etc but I’m still wearing the same coats and tops/jumpers that aren’t fitted.
ive put on 7kg.
honestly though im good with it, im definitely more comfortable than most at this stage 😝 and less to try to shift afterwards! Baby is 88th centile 😳😳 so very healthy 🤣 that’s all that matters to me 😁❤️

anony1111 · 17/12/2023 22:35

@CheeseAndCrackersx i used to put them together and keep them on the kitchen side. They stay sterile for 24hrs so would always get used in time and ready to be washed and sterilised again 😅🤣

CheeseAndCrackersx · 17/12/2023 21:37

This is gonna sound like such a clueless first time mum question... but where do you store bottles not being used? Surely I don't keep them in the steriliser til needed?

Keep them on the bench or cupboard

I've had the opposite, lots of people thinking I must be intending to start maternity leave at Christmas as getting so big now! Still 10 weeks to go till baby is due...

Shrillwaffle · 18/12/2023 01:54

@Ebonythoughts those 4D pics are super cute 🥰 so exciting we’re all so close soon! I can’t wait to see people commenting saying they’ve had their babies ☺️

I’ve packed babies go bag that’s all sorted just need to do mine now. Need some maternity bras and pjs I’ve been trying to make do but my bras are becoming very uncomfortable and I want to make sure I have some button down nighties for the hospital.

Im 32+5 due to find out my induction date on 5th January 🥰 but should be the end of January in the 38th week. Only 6 weeks to go! Can’t believe I’ve got this far I feel so proud 🥲

undercoverhero74 · 18/12/2023 05:24

Thanks ladies, that's reassuring!

I had low PAPP A at my 12 week bloods and was told I might have a small baby so maybe I am just being paranoid. Next time someone comments I will just smile and thank them. Personally I think it's a tad rude to comment on anyone's body size but I know there is no malice involved.

This is my second pregnancy and I definitely carried bigger last time, I shall just make the most of still being able to tie my shoes lol.

I have a growth scan on 2nd January so hopefully that will out my mind at rest.

Is everyone prepared for Xmas?

RaspberryTreehouse · 18/12/2023 07:34

I'm assuming it must be really common, but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced reduced movements and how long they went on for?
Baby was quiet on Friday and then I didnt feel baby at all most of the weekend, and although I can feel her a bit more now, she's still not back to normal. Since Saturday I've been asked to come in for daily monitoring until they can get a scan for her, but I was just hoping for any stories from people who have had reduced movements for what (to me) feels like a long time!
I appreciate I'm a nervous ftm, but the midwives have taken it all very seriously and it's made me a little bit worried.

My baby has alternated days with some quiet periods, but it’s now a regular pattern. Although he’s seemed super active last two days.
I’m sure everything is fine but always go in to get monitored whenever you’re worried. They would rather you go in and everything be fine, than not.

babythreeincoming · 18/12/2023 10:17

9 weeks until D DAY! Hope everyone is keeping well 🥰

msp2023 · 18/12/2023 10:35

Have anyone's bowel movements increased dramatically? :(

I'm having to go 6-7 times a day! It's not necessarily loose motions but I get this burning sensation with/without abdominal cramps sometimes and I have to run to the loo!

(33+3, happening for the last 4-5 days)

Ihatewinding · 18/12/2023 10:51

@MrsW9 same here re carrying big, slight raised eyebrows from people when say due in Feb (even if is start/7th) so I started saying number of weeks until 38 as that's when I'm hoping he will come haha. He flipped to transverse yesterday and it looked like I had ballooned all of a sudden, though back head down now - I think at least, have midwife tomorrow so will see what she says!

I have been getting some really bad Braxton Hicks if get up too suddenly or walk at any speed so having to sort a lot of Christmas shopping online and getting Morrisons delivery for food and hospital bag things, think need to take it a bit easy but so much to do. Had a really bad night's sleep after writing a 25 step to do list Confused

@msp2023 you've not started any iron tablets have you? I found they made me really loose as opposed to the traditional constipation. Or if a few days then maybe a bug? Make sure you stay hydrated and get checked out if ongoing/worsening otherwise.

PeeBeee · 18/12/2023 11:35

Hey all! Had a growth scan 2 weeks ago at 27+6 and baby was measuring just above 50th centile. Had another one today at 29+6 & baby is now measuring on the 90th centile and estimated over 4lb already 🙈

Consultant isn’t concerned as I passed my glucose test a few weeks ago and I have my next growth scan in 3 weeks.

Baby is transverse but feet down, trust my baby to be awkward😅 I got my ELCS date today, feels so real now - 9+1 weeks to go🙈🙈

Mangotango39 · 18/12/2023 12:35

I had a scan today due to GD and previous kidney issue of baby.

kidney all perfect now (yay!) they said all was really well.

BUT baby is quite big. 2.3kg .....
I am 31 +3 and head and belly were both 98th percentile. Head was measuring 36 weeks wtf?!!
It's making me want to discuss a c section!

I have another scan in 4 weeks ...

msp2023 · 18/12/2023 12:52

@Ihatewinding nope no iron tablets! I was on them previously but didn't suffer with any bowel issues!
This seems to have appeared from nowhere.. will keep an eye on it. Just hoping it doesn't continue this way for another six weeks or so!

Cheetocat · 18/12/2023 14:21

Just had a scan (31+2) and baby is doing well, he's 53rd centile, weighing 1768 grams / 3lb15oz. All measurements were fine apart from dilation on one of his little kidneys, I have to go back for another scan in three weeks to see if it resolves.

It was adorable seeing him holding his little foot in his hand, you don't think of them doing that typical baby stuff in there.

Gardenfingers23 · 18/12/2023 14:59

Interesting to hear all your updates ladies and how many of you are having growth scans. We’ve just had our 31week midwife check up and all appears OK. Fundal measurement was 31cm which upon googling appears about normal but they placed it at 97th percentile?!! At 28 weeks I was 28cm measurement and 90th percentile (but done by different midwife) so I think growth is tracking as it should but it’s got me worried about baby size and whether I should insist (if I can?!) on growth scan?? Midwife said they’d check again at 34weeks and that would be the time to refer for scan if big change is seen but should I be OK with waiting this long?!! Advice very welcome!

Cheetocat · 18/12/2023 15:59

@Gardenfingers23 As far as I know you want it to be the same amount of cm as weeks of gestation so it sounds like you're on track with 31cm at 31 weeks, they probably just want to monitor in case you have a spurt if growth or something and it goes over.

Meeting · 18/12/2023 18:32

@msp2023 I'm having the opposite problem, I'm severely constipated and it's absolutely hellish.

xTinkerbell · 18/12/2023 18:48

@Cheetocat I had dilation on one of the kidneys with my little boy. Resolved itself by repeat scan. Apparently very common in boys. Hopefully it resolves okay for you

Cheetocat · 18/12/2023 19:03

@xTinkerbell Thanks for sharing, fingers crossed we have the same outcome, it does sound fairly common. I hate to think baby might be uncomfortable in there!

Cheetocat · 18/12/2023 19:06

@Meeting Kiwis have helped my digestion so much! Usually weetabix or porridge would help but I'm finding fruit more effective now.

@msp2023 I'm having the opposite problem, I'm severely constipated and it's absolutely hellish.

😥😥 such a pain! I've got piles from actually going to the loo too much! What are the chances sigh.
I'd recommend bran flakes in the morn - usually works well for me :)

CheeseAndCrackersx · 18/12/2023 21:16

When it comes to new knickers for the hospital, are you buying maternity or normal or a mix? That's the only thing left to get for my bag 😀
