CheeseAndCrackersx · 25/11/2023 21:35

Thank you all ❤️
I feel less terrible about it now 😀

Hope you're all doing ok and babies too xx

Shrillwaffle · 26/11/2023 19:46

@Mangotango39 ikr after I found out I cut my sugars down and they were going too low so it’s hard to balance it :/ I’ll tell you why I think mine showed up. Where I work I run a little tuck shop and we had a load of kinder buenos that went passed sell by date so I had more than I usually would I think this tipped the reading 😅

how you finding it? I’m finding it hard to eat so often and also remembering to test :/

AllAboardTootToot · 27/11/2023 02:54

Is anyone else suffering badly with trapped wind at night?

Being woke up every night with it, like cramping pains in my stomach.

Any advice on what I can take for relief?

babythreeincoming · 27/11/2023 11:02

Happy third trimester to any other mamas who are 28 weeks pregnant today ✨

msp2023 · 27/11/2023 14:56

Gosh guys! I'm just over 30 weeks and I have really entered the uncomfortable stage!
I feel huge and my belly is quite low and heavy.

Combined with everything being squished, I'm doing a lot of heavy breathing and my sleeps are not great! Lots of waking up to pee and rolling over in bed from rib pain.

Anyone else in the same boat? Worried about getting through the next ten weeks or so and just how much more uncomfortable it's going to get!

Sunshineclouds11 · 27/11/2023 15:06

@msp2023 29 weeks, also worried about how much bigger i can get 😅
i'm measuring on track but feel huge compared to first at this stage.

DmcinT · 27/11/2023 16:07

@msp2023 @Sunshineclouds11 Also 29 weeks and I’ve deff entered the uncomfortable stage🙈 very few positions bring any comfort and I just feel so quashed; not able to eat very much as there just feels like there’s no room. I’m being brought in at nearly 37 weeks but even another 7/8 weeks of getting bigger frightens me. What will we be like for Christmas/New Years 😅🙈

Meeting · 27/11/2023 17:25

@msp2023 I'm a couple of days off 30 weeks and definitely struggling at night.Through the day I'm still managing fine so far but once the exhaustion hits in the afternoon it's like I go from really able to barely being able to get up!

LavenderSweetPea · 27/11/2023 17:49

I'll be 30w in a few days. Midwife is measuring bump a couple of weeks ahead, but growth scan shows baby is only in 13 percentile. Can only assume this means I've been eating too much biscuits 😂fortunately GD test came back ok so that's one less thing to worry about.

Despite having big bump, I'm still feeling ok, no trouble sleeping, although I did use a rather tiny toilet cubicle the other day and could barely get the door closed past the giant bump 🙈. I'm trying to enjoy it while I can because I'm sure the pregnancy discomfort is coming for me any day now.

I saw that an August 24 babies thread has been started, it really makes me feel how far we've all come since this thread started!

redxlondon · 27/11/2023 18:14

I’m feeling pretty great, I’ve tried to keep up with spin classes and yoga and they definitely help with my sleep and easing body pains. Just really
hoping everything continues to go well, keep getting so nervous about any complications.

Cheetocat · 27/11/2023 19:02

Had a surprise baby shower yesterday, I really wasn't expecting it. We received so many little clothes and thoughtful gifts. All we need now is a few 0-3 month vests and sleepsuits and some sleep sacks, we'll be all set. I don't have friends or family here and it's not really part of the culture where we live but my partners family tried their best for us.

Clueless13 · 27/11/2023 20:22

Hi everyone, I’m almost 29 weeks - I’ve got a question about baby movements, he still doesn’t seem to have a pattern as such and will wriggle randomly and very sporadically throughout the day, sometimes I panic when I can’t remember when I last felt baby move. Anyone else’s baby not have a pattern? How is everyone tracking baby movements?

Gardenfingers23 · 27/11/2023 21:46

I’m not really tracking per se, just seem to have certain times of day when the movements are more. Watching tv in an evening and then lying in bed is when I notice it most. The last hour or so the baby has been super active and not stopped, just wondering if too much movement should be a worry or if really it only needs checking if it’s slowed down/you haven’t felt it. I did yoga tonight and I wonder if that has caused her to move position and be more active?!!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 27/11/2023 22:45

I'm ok when in bed at the min but doing alot of walking is taking it out of me the past couple of days. I'm busy tomorrow again but I honestly think Wednesday I'm just gonna rest apart from walking the dog cos I feel so heavy and crampy when been walking a lot. Trying to keep active but it's hard sometimes

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/11/2023 06:29

@Cheetocat that's so lovely! How sweet they made an effort.

Re movements I'm not sure. I'm almost 30 weeks and sometimes have muted days, and sometimes periods where she's very much making herself known. I'm not sure if it's right, but if I'm feeling her move at usual-ish times for me (morning, night, laying down or sitting still, and after food or a coffee) then I've assumed it's okay even if the movements are a little less. It's a minefield isn't it. I thought I'd be better with my second baby, but it's hard to say if movements are the same day to day

xTinkerbell · 28/11/2023 07:37

@Mangotango39 wow! I’ve had nothing but a note on the app telling me to contact my gp for a prescription of iron as my levels are ‘very low’.

Feeling very anxious over it & hoping they check my levels again soon. I know I’m having csection so worried about the blood loss if my levels haven’t improved

Mangotango39 · 28/11/2023 07:48

@xTinkerbell I am in Australia so my healthcare is slightly different. It's tomorrow and I can't bloody wait , feel like a zombie!!! Does take a few weeks to kick in apparently....

they gave me the choice , tablets or infusion and I chose infusion based on some advice from friends previously x

Mangotango39 · 28/11/2023 07:53

Oh I just found out also that my hospital has had an reshuffle and made all maternity rooms , own rooms!!! With men allowed to stay and sleepover before birth (when not in active labour) and after.

I probably would send DP home anyway afterwards so he can atleast get some energy while I am so woozy but atleast we can choose the time!

I am now under a special midwife for GD and meeting her next week to get set up with my blood tests and also an education lesson .... hoping I can manage these blood sugars !!!!!

undercoverhero74 · 28/11/2023 09:00

I'm so glad I'm not the only one confused with movements. I tend to notice her moving when I'm not doing much such as sitting or at bed time. If I'm busy throughout the day I do have to stop and really think about when I last felt her and panic a bit. Baby seems to be in a reasonable routine but she still catches me off guard.
She's also still sitting really low so every now and then I get a kick in the cervix which is such a bizarre feeling.
I can't believe some of you have hit 30 weeks already! Time is really flying.

We have booked a 4D scan for next week. Has anyone had one yet?

msp2023 · 28/11/2023 09:09

I'm so glad I'm not the only one feeling uncomfortable- not that I want you all to feel the same LOL but makes me feel comforted knowing I'm not just being whingey!

I have my 4D scan on Saturday eeeek so excited. We've kept the gender a surprise though so hoping we don't see anything we don't want to!

Re: movements, I'm the same! A lot whilst I'm sitting still, not much when I'm up and about. Not a regular time of day as such but as long as I feel consistent movements by the end of the day, I'm happy.

amyg1985 · 28/11/2023 09:24

This idea of a "pattern" of movements is really confusing! Mine very much depend on what I'm up to and which way baby is facing. Starting to just trust myself now since I think I could drive myself mad trying to track things in more detail.

Ihatewinding · 28/11/2023 09:58

I defo got lucky with my first for movements (after initial delays due to anterior placenta). My daughter moved pretty much 3-4 hourly! Like 6:30/7,10, 1, 4, 7, 10 +/- 15-30 mins. Plus few extras if had sugary or caffeinated drinks etc. Like would feel her move and could know the time to nearest half hour!

This one is very different but generally on waking, lunchtime, generally teatimeish (especially if driving??) and then when relaxing and lying down in evening it will be intermittently every 1-2 hours.

When they mainly move on evening I do think it is more stressful as if have a busy day at work and don't know if felt at all then still got to wait hours until night before know for sure if pattern is off, or just too busy to notice the day movements Confused

novamama · 28/11/2023 09:58

Regarding baby movement patterns, my baby is always moving in the morning and before bedtime / once I actually would like to sleep. Sometimes she wakes me up in the night. If I spend time at the desk I notice her movements more in the day, it's usually after I eat lunch for me, and then again in the mid afternoon. I actually try to track movements in an app so that I find patterns. My midwife said its fine to just be still for a bit and be mindful of movement if I don't remember when baby moved last.

Regarding uncomfy sleep, I also do struggle to turn from one side to another and my hip hurt really badly last night.

On a different note, has anyone experienced nose bleeds? They started for me maybe 3 weeks ago, very sporadically and through the day. However, last night I bled so much in my sleep that I woke up with my hand, half the face plus bed and pillow covered in blood. I never used to have nose bleeds before pregnancy.

Ihatewinding · 28/11/2023 10:10

@novamama Have you had your 28 week check with bloods and BP? High blood pressure and low platelets can cause nosebleeds so would want that ruling out, and make sure not anaemic.

Is it both nostrils? That would be more concerning but if one then you can get a prominent vessel that potentially as result of increased blood volume in pregnancy is misbehaving itself or something. I would defo book a GP appt to get checked out and they can organise bloods if needed as well if MW appt still a way off. If you have a nosebleed that doesn't stop after 10-15 mins then you need A&E.

I've had a bit of nose bleeding but also had a bad cold and been blowing my nose aggressively but will get checked out if persists once cold is resolved.

Have you tried a pillow under your hips for extra cushioning? I have an 8 pillow set up these days and though not perfect I'm actually getting some 2-3+ hour stretches (with codeine tbf) and it's amazing! Previously was 40-60mins at one point 😴
