@Ihatewinding

Thank you so much for the message. I haven't heard back from my 28 week blood results, so I just gave them a call. All looks normal, which is great to hear - platelets, iron. My BP was normal at the appointment, and my BP history is normal.

This all sounds reassuring, albeit I'll need to find a way to to cope with this nosebleed. It is only one nostril that causes problems.

I think I might need to start pillow set ups for both sides, as I have one pregnancy pillow but it only works one side at a time.

I think I caught a nerve in my hip as I cannot put my weight on one of my legs at the moment 🥲

Regarding baby movement patterns, my baby is always moving in the morning and before bedtime / once I actually would like to sleep. Sometimes she wakes me up in the night. If I spend time at the desk I notice her movements more in the day, it's usually after I eat lunch for me, and then again in the mid afternoon. I actually try to track movements in an app so that I find patterns. My midwife said its fine to just be still for a bit and be mindful of movement if I don't remember when baby moved last.

Regarding uncomfy sleep, I also do struggle to turn from one side to another and my hip hurt really badly last night.

On a different note, has anyone experienced nose bleeds? They started for me maybe 3 weeks ago, very sporadically and through the day. However, last night I bled so much in my sleep that I woke up with my hand, half the face plus bed and pillow covered in blood. I never used to have nose bleeds before pregnancy.

Yes, I’ve been getting quite a few. Had one yesterday morning that really delayed me getting ready for work, they’re such a pain.
I guess if you’re worried you could speak to GP to rule out anything, but if you’ve already been having blood pressure / booking and 28 weeks bloods I wouldn’t worry. It’s very common and normal and to do with expansion of blood vessels during pregnancy from hormone changes. Especially as the weather has changed, I’ve found my skin is dry and that will make it more fragile too.

Ebonythoughts · 28/11/2023 11:36

I’ve had nosebleeds throughout this pregnancy, particularly if the heating is on in the house. I’ve been told it’s normal, although it is frustrating when it happens. I try and keep the house quite cool now and just layer up which helps.

Kelb79 · 28/11/2023 12:01

@AllAboardTootToot yep!! Nighttime trapped wind 😫 so painful!! Rennies has helped sometimes but I haven’t found out how to stop it happening yet - if you find anything let me know 🙏🏼

Baby movement….. the only pattern I have is when I wake up, when I go to bed and usually after I eat. Beyond that it seems to be completely random! They’re usually more active when I’m doing nothing but not always 🤷🏼‍♀️ and sometimes they seem to go crazy for a super long time and like @Gardenfingers23 I worry that they’re maybe moving too much???!! 😵‍💫😵‍💫
Mines still sitting really low and rummaging around deep in my pelvis mostly so I still sometimes wonder if it’s just digestive movements 🤣🤣🤷🏼‍♀️

Pain wise I’m doing really well. I teach yoga and have managed to carry on teaching twice a week (albeit slightly modified! 🫣) plus active job and dog walks. I think it’s all helped so I’d definitely recommend movement 👍🏼👌🏼

But is anyone else getting really sore feet?? My heels seem to have literally gone flat and when I stand up my feet just feel sooo sore!! I’ve tried all different types of shoes and find harder soles better than memory foam but it’s getting so hard at work running around a restaurant! 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Hi ladies, I had my GD test today and when I got my notes back, this was at the front (at my 16 week consultant apt, consultant requested my previous maternal notes so we can discuss birth plan at 28 week apt (which is this Monday) so they have put them in there today whilst I was in for glucose test.

i can make out ‘cat 3 c/s, failure to progress (2cm) and maternal request. Uneventful. But what the hell is that word after no and before to vbac? I am assuming it means no issues with trying for vbac? But thats just a guess as it says the delivery was uneventful/ had no issues

No contraindications to VBAC :)

@msp2023 thank you! That’s a new word for me😂

@novamama

Re the nose bleeds, I've had them regularly- it is one of the first signs I have of pregnancy before even a positive test.. in fact on this cycle I even had one the day after ovulation which was really weird!

Anyway, I get them most days, usually as I wash my face morning and night, it is only ever one nostril and it is caused because of the increased blood flow and relaxed tissue (even in the nose), so washing my face aggravates this. I was prone to them as a child so I expected it.

I am really suffering with congestion too which isn't helping, I had been using the breathe right nose strips every other night (as they're pricey!!) to help avoid too much congestion (and then nosebleed) the next day, but congestion is now worse so using every night which does help you breathe and sleep and feel it's helping to reduce the number of them.

I did mention it to my midwife and she wasn't concerned at all, however they're rarely heavy and stop within 5-10 minutes. She said anything that lasts more than 15 minutes, is very heavy and or won't stop is more of a concern. They can be linked to pre-eclampsia so is mentioned it for peace of mind, especially if you have to start to have any other symptoms

CharXo · 28/11/2023 18:26

Ladies… is anyone suffering with thrush?

Ladies… is anyone suffering with thrush?

I’ve had it twice during this pregnancy. The midwife told me to just use cream. So I did and ended up going to hospital as I had some bleeding. It was from the thrush and the doctor said the midwife was totally wrong, and you have to get a pessary if its thrush. Cream just helps symptoms. After putting one up there it cleared up quickly.

PeeBeee · 29/11/2023 07:28

Has anyone felt baby’s movement different after the GT test? Baby was going bonkers after it yesterday which makes sense considering how much sugar is in it.

last night and this morning, she’s very quiet. Leaving my little girl off at mums soon and will come back to have breakfast before i start work and lie down to see if she starts wakening up, if not, will ring eou but just seeing if its possible shes having a wee sugar crash from yday

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/11/2023 08:31

@PeeBeee yes I did. And when I went on the diet, and then the medicine, each time baby got very quiet with the adjusted sugar levels. I did ring triage a couple of times when I laid down and he still didn't move for much of the day. They said it can be normal, but I also think if you don't feel her this morning you should call and ask their advice

PeeBeee · 29/11/2023 08:54

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you! Oh i hope this doesnt indicate that i could have GD😭 fingers crossed i hear nothing over the next few days.

she started kicking up high in my ribs when i was driving over to my mums but will monitor for the next few hours, just had my breakfast!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/11/2023 09:09

@PeeBeee hopefully not because this pregnancy I don't have GD (yet..!)and she went bonkers after the drink, and then had a chilled evening with what I am attributing to knackering herself out and a sugar comedown. And my blood sugar levels were low

LavenderSweetPea · 29/11/2023 09:14

@PeeBeee yes baby went absolutely nuts during/after the GD test and then suspiciously quiet. GD test came back negative (no GD)

PeeBeee · 29/11/2023 10:06

Thanks both! She has started moving around a bit now, kicking me at top of ribs so shes moved too! These wee rascals worrying us before we even meet them♥️😂

babythreeincoming · 29/11/2023 10:11

Had my 28 week midwife appointment this morning and there was a small trace of sugar in my urine again (the same at the last appointment). I don't fall straight under getting a GD test as it showed as 1 and not 2. Bloods have been sent away and then we can go from there. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm hoping it's nothing and I can avoid the test 😂🤞🏼

Gardenfingers23 · 29/11/2023 10:39

After 36hours of lots of movement, baby went very quiet last night and didn’t have her normal morning wriggles which got me worried so I called triage and they invited me down to get checked over. They monitored baby for 30mins and all was well and she started waking up 10mins in. I felt really silly for bothering them but they couldn’t have been nicer and said I did the right thing if I had concerns and always better to get checked over. Nice to know that everything looked good and has definitely put my mind at ease so anyone worried should deffo call them!

amyg1985 · 29/11/2023 10:43

I've had trace amounts of sugar in my urine @babythreeincoming but seems to depend on what I've had for breakfast since i didn't have it at my last appointment. My midwife not concerned and not referred me for a GTT. Did you have cereal or something sugary before you provided the sample? Will keep my fingers crossed for you!

babythreeincoming · 29/11/2023 10:44

@amyg1985 Thanks lovely! I had some Special K which I thought was ok 🥹 I'll keep you posted on the results... hoping it's nothing as I've never had to do the test before! How are you?

amyg1985 · 29/11/2023 10:53

@babythreeincoming - yes I had had porridge with fruit which, whilst nutritious, seems to have caused the glucose. Midwife said that this is usually completely fine and didn't recommend any diet changes.

I'm finding my hips are playing up now which is not so much painful as frustrating. Time to invest in a gym ball I think! X

I did the Zoe programme where you wear a continuous glucose monitor to see how your body responds to certain food. I was amazed how it really spikes with porridge, which is very common. Same for any type of cereal like Special K - high carb and sugar spike inducing. The way to flatten your blood sugar curve is to combine it with some fats, so something like adding a table spoon of nut butter would work really well.

Thank you so much for the extensive reply. I'm sorry to hear you're also having nosebleeds, but it feels better to not be the only one.

I managed to pass the night with blood traces only, but no major nose bleed. I'm trying not to blow my nose (too hard) as now I am uncertain if it's stuffy or clogged with blood 😂

Clueless13 · 29/11/2023 11:10

@PeeBeee yes I did too! Super active shortly after having the drink and then nothing for ages

Is anyone getting a lot of discharge? Mine is sticky white/yellow

amyg1985 · 29/11/2023 11:13

Oh that's good to know @redxlondon - I always think I'm treating myself if I add a nut butter to porridge but now I can say it's for my blood sugar!
