Hi! Just had a BFP after a MC at 8 weeks last year, and am looking for folks to breathe through the next few weeks with. I am in an age bracket where MC risk is high and I’m trying not to get ahead of myself!

@BrwnX i have now also booked a private scan. I called epu again yesterday to try and book in, but I now need bloods doing at 6 weeks then after the results come back I’ll get a scan. I feel stupid but I just need something so I can breathe a little knowing it’s ok

Stephy1024 · 11/10/2023 11:49

Hope it's gone well today @RaisingCornishWildlings 🙏

RaisingCornishWildlings · 11/10/2023 11:52

It's over and out for me I'm afraid lovely ladies. Thank you to everyone for kind words and well wishes.

Had the scan- no evidence of a pregnancy- but pee test very positive. So they've taken bloods and I have to go back on Friday for more bloods to confirm that HcG levels are dropping.

Feeling very sad and empty, but grateful that if it had to happen, it did so so early on 💔💔💔

Stephy1024 · 11/10/2023 11:58

I'm so sorry @RaisingCornishWildlings it's an awful thing to have to go through.

Take care and be kind to yourself.

BrwnX · 11/10/2023 13:12

That's good! When's your scan? @Dani46 don't feel stupid at all I completely know where you are coming from! X

I am so sorry @RaisingCornishWildlings 😢❤️🫶🏻

oop · 11/10/2023 13:51

@RaisingCornishWildlings oh gosh I'm really sorry to hear that. Sending love you ❤️

Dani46 · 11/10/2023 14:04

@BrwnX i have booked it for when I’ll be 6 weeks so next Friday, but depending on what happens when I go to epu, I might re arrange it for 8/9 weeks if they will scan me at the same time as bloods.

Dani46 · 11/10/2023 14:04

@RaisingCornishWildlings im so sorry, sending love and I hope you’re as ok as can be x

CharlySwarles · 11/10/2023 14:05

I'm so sorry to hear that @RaisingCornishWildlings. Thinking of you x

CharlySwarles · 11/10/2023 14:07

I've got an appointment with the EPU on Friday morning. Spotting has settled and feeling a tiny bit nauseous today, so only slight symptoms but more than yesterday, I think.
Feels like it could go either way. Time is going to drag until the appointment!

PurpleIsTheColour · 11/10/2023 14:11

@RaisingCornishWildlings , so sorry for you and sending you a big hug❤️

cosymama2020 · 11/10/2023 14:21

So sorry @RaisingCornishWildlings ❤️

@pinkhart how are you feeling now? Are you out of hospital? I’ve got a doctor’s appointment tonight for my nausea, it’s just so bad!

Tefiti3 · 11/10/2023 14:55

Oh @RaisingCornishWildlings I am so so sorry ❤️ I hope you can take some time to rest and recover. Sending you lots of love.

MsNeis · 11/10/2023 19:30

Anyone else here dealing with obesity while pregnant? I am. It would be nice to know somebody else who is in the same boat...

@RaisingCornishWildlings very sorry for your loss, I hope you can take the time and the help needed to heal 💛

@pinkhart how are you feeling now? Are you out of hospital? I’ve got a doctor’s appointment tonight for my nausea, it’s just so bad!

Weirdly (but thankfully) had a good day today - it's crazy how you can feel so rough one day and not as rough the next. I've had nausea on and off but the tablets are helping! I'm home again, got to get BP checked in a few days and if I feel rubbish go back to them.

Did you speak to anyone? Has yours been worse? How many weeks are you?

Dani46 · 11/10/2023 22:49

Does anyone get dizzy but especially in the evening? I don’t know it’s it’s because I’m so tired too all the time.

cosymama2020 · 12/10/2023 07:36

@pinkhart aw I’m so glad! I went to the docs yesterday and they’ve given me Cyclizine to start off with. Praying it works because this nausea has ramped up and I can’t smell anything without it setting me off!

@MsNeis not obesity as such but I’m bigger than I’d like to be. Worried that with all this nausea I’m only able to eat certain foods and that the weight might add on as well. I lost weight during my last pregnancy which I’m kind of hoping for this time round too!

Hollie1802 · 12/10/2023 07:45

Hi everyone,

I hope no one minds me joining - I got my BFP (or 10 as I took so many in disbelief!) yesterday at 10DPO! I had a MMC a couple of years ago and this was my second time trying since then and will be my first baby - I'm trying to be positive and just take it day by day but I can't lie and say that worry isn't in the back of my mind! However looking back at old pictures, the lines are far darker this time than they were at this point last time so 🤞🏼

I'm debating whether to pay for an early scan for reassurance or not, I can't work out if it makes things worse, and it was at a reassurance scan that I found out about the MMC last time so I don't have brilliant memories!!

I hope everyone is doing ok, it's relieving to see that I'm not the only one feeling like this!!

Dani46 · 12/10/2023 11:12

Hi @Hollie1802 and congrats too ☺️
I had a missed miscarriage in July and I’m also worrying this is going to happen again, I found out at private scans last time also.
Have you contacted epu? There seeing me at 6 weeks for blood test and then after the results come back from that there also doing a scan for me. I’ve also been given baby aspirin from them too.
ive also booked a private scan myself as I can’t wait so long and I don’t know when I will get it from epu, I thought it was going to be the same time as bloods. I would rather know now it’s all going ok, and have more scans done also by them.

G7X · 12/10/2023 11:25

Hi @Hollie1802! Welcome to the group. I had a miscarriage a couple of months ago and had a 5 week scan today at EPU where they saw a pregnancy and yolk sac. Booking me in for another scan next week. Personally it is really helping me to have these scans booked in.

cosymama2020 · 12/10/2023 11:48

Welcome all the new joiners and congratulations!

has anyone had a 7 week scan before? I’ve got one booked in next week, and shitting myself 😂 just worried nothing will be there although my symptoms are strong

Agathapoirot · 12/10/2023 11:50

Hey, hoping to also join, had a mmc in July at 12 weeks, and got a positive at 10dpo on Tuesday. Not even 4 weeks yet so very nervous but also quietly hoping this might be okay 🤞🏼

I think I might have to have an early scan, not sure I can cope for another 8 weeks to have the same fate as last time.

hellofromsutton · 12/10/2023 14:02

Hello everyone, sending lots of love and congratulations to you all ❤️ I got my BFP last week, I am still breastfeeding my 2nd baby and periods haven’t returned since birth so I’m guessing maybe I’m 5 weeks 🙈
I’ve had 3 miscarriages (between 2 successful pregnancies) and my youngest was in NICU for 3 months after she was born. I am desperately trying to keep positive to the point where I don’t even want to book any scans or appointments I just want to stay in my little positive bubble and hope/believe my little bean is ok. My previous pregnancies I found myself just living from scan to scan and having really bad anxiety in the run up. I had scans at 7, 12, 20, 24, 36 weeks, half private, half NHS. Anybody else find it less stress to just do the NHS standard 12 and 20 week scans? Does it make the anxiety any better or worse?

Hi! And congrats too.
Im just curious how you got your local epu to scan you at 5 weeks? They wont see me till 6 weeks and want me to do a blood test first 😩 I’ve even booked a private scan as I feel that would help me loads right now for next week!
I feel the same too about the scans, even though I found out last time at a private scan I think it still eases me knowing that hopefully it will all be ok this time round 🤞🌈

Hollie1802 · 12/10/2023 16:26

@Dani46 @G7X ooh really, I didn't know that you could reach out to the EP unit! Do you just mention that you have had a miscarriage before? Did you go through your GP or direct to the unit? Sorry for all the questions!!
