@CheeseAndCrackersx 😂 same here though 🙌🏽 I was really hopeful for a second trimester glow and energy boost and all I got was a few extra stops on my commute to/from work to puke 🙈😫

my mum said recently ‘oh sure I puked the whole pregnancy with u and ur sister’
BRAND NEW INFORMATION that she never cared to share before now 😂😂 thanks mum 👍🏽

@Kelb79 hows the sickness now, Is the restaurant any easier? I think being around all the smells of food must be really tough going ❤️

@User0224 hope all went well today 🤞🏽 We’re u finding out the sex or that?

AmyA64 · 16/10/2023 20:26

So lovely all you ladies feeling kicks and punches and night time races! I’ve an anterior placenta and at 22+ 4 I don’t think I’ve felt anything yet. Occasionally feel bubbles and think it might be something but not sure if it’s just digestive as it’s normally after I’ve eaten! I can’t wait to feel proper movements!

Cheetocat · 16/10/2023 20:33

@AmyA64 They really don't feel like kicks or punches at first and still don't for me, it's more like a jerking feeling near my bladder, really low down, they do get more active after meals so you might be feeling baby!

AmyA64 · 16/10/2023 20:36

Ooh, I have been feeling almost stabling pains near my bladder, so maybe I am feeling something!

Kelb79 · 16/10/2023 22:07

@DmcinT yes! 🥳🥳 it’s finally got better!! I still feel queasy and gave horrible sulphur burps and reflux (delightful!) but I’m rarely sick now 😁👌🏼 at last!! Work has got much easier!! 🤣 although I have zero appetite! 🤷🏼‍♀️ anyone else struggling to be interested in food??

@AmyA64 mine started as bubbly feelings (almost like wind but went on longer and stronger) so I reckon you’re feeling baby for sure!! 😁😁

@Cheetocat me too!! I’m a Zumba and yoga instructor and was pretty damn fit pre-pregnancy!! I’d put on some weight with the IVF treatment but otherwise healthy and now I’m the same as you - breathless after a flight of stairs 🫣🫣 it’s so bad!! 🤣🤣

novamama · 16/10/2023 22:13

Ladies, today (23+1) I felt a new pain like never in my lifetime before: bellybutton pain!! I had a look at it and it is starting to turn. Also painful to touch above bellybutton around my stomach area. Walking to work felt like my belly wants to split open. I've been active and walking throughout my pregnancy, and what worries me is that my bump is still tiiiiiny. What will happen later??

Anyone felt anything like this before?

DmcinT · 16/10/2023 22:28

@novamama I mentioned this exact same type of pain a few pages back but no1 seemed to have similar. Mine has gone now but lasted a full week, I had the doctor check it that week as it was worrying me but she said all was good so I’m not sure what caused it 🤷🏼‍♀️

novamama · 16/10/2023 22:42

@DmcinT ohhh I must have not seen it. Thank you for the reply and sharing the outcome. Hopefully mine passes too..

23 weeks today and I feel like my bump has popped over night 😀 it'll probably disappear again in a few days 😄

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 17/10/2023 10:58

I just don't feel like I have much of a bump at all 🤦‍♀️ it's tiny! 😂

Cheetocat · 17/10/2023 15:28

My partner has this idea in his head of not wanting to spend more than €150 on each big thing for the baby, he hasn't done any research but expects us to get a car seat, pram and somewhere for baby to sleep for under €450. Keep dreaming.

Callmemummynotmaaa · 17/10/2023 18:01

@Cheetocat it may not be what you want but we got everything for ours preloved via Facebook marketplace, nct nearly new sales and local Facebook mum to mum selling groups. Did the usual John Lewis/large stockier trips to work out exactly what we wanted but actually sourced them second hand. Bought new mattresses for the carry cot and bedside cot for our first.

Cheetocat · 17/10/2023 18:32

@Callmemummynotmaaa I don't mind getting things second hand but not the car seat, I want a really good one that's had extensive testing, I'm really nervous about being on the road as it is so I'm even more apprehensive about it with a baby.

Kelb79 · 17/10/2023 18:46

@Cheetocatmy OH has gone mad on Vinted! Loads of brand new things even getting sold on there! I generally pick what we want and he hunts it down 😝 we’ve had some great bargains!!
Also, it’s not quite €150 but we managed to bag the exact travel system we wanted by watching the Cosatto website - they regularly post ex displays in perfect condition for half price!! Serious bargain!! Great system too 👌🏼

Talking of purchases…. Anyone got any previous experience with the Snuzpod bassinets?? I’ve been looking at them for a while and just had a 20% off offer through Emma’s Diary so I’m tempted to bite the bullet 🫣🫣

Cheetocat · 17/10/2023 19:00

@Kelb79 I've never purchased anything from vinted but I've been browsing since a friend recommended it recently, how does delivery work for something big like a travel system?

Kelb79 · 17/10/2023 19:07

@Cheetocat for big stuff most people say collection only but we did nearly buy our travel system off there (loads for sale at super good prices!!) The seller was happy to send it at our expense so I was going to send boxes to her direct from Amazon to pack it in and the arrange and pay for a courier to collect. Because of the way vinted works by taking payment and holding money until delivery is confirmed it covers both parties in case of scammers (unlike Scam Central AKA Facebook marketplace 🤣🤣)

Callmemummynotmaaa · 17/10/2023 19:19

I’ve a snuzpod - at the time it was the only one that worked with our mattress height. It’s served our kids and been lent out since. In terms of sleeping success - it depended on the baby!! My first only slept on me. The second actually used the crib after a while.

My funniest retrospective moment of parenting involves me realizing days after my c-section how silly it was to have not moved it for a little bit in the very early days when babies mainly on boob or in arms. As any bedside crib is a bit of a nightmare to navigate getting out of bed around! But overall - we’ve had it, the Chico next to me, and used friends/families tutti bambini version when traveling and they are all very similar. The best bet is chose the one that works for your room/bed dimensions!

anony1111 · 17/10/2023 19:52

I have hunted down some bargains on Facebook Marketplace and Vinted too. It's my second baby and can't face spending £100s and £100s on stuff that are just as good second hand.
I got a Snuzpod for £25! Will buy a new mattress of course. Also got a Mamas & Papas pram and carrycot for £25 too, will get it professionally cleaned and it will pretty much be like new.

I will of course buy a car seat brand new, I hate the car seat minefield though 🙈 has anyone got any recommendations? I am tempted to get a Joie 360 but can't make my mind up.

DmcinT · 17/10/2023 19:53

@Kelb79 we don’t have vinted where I live, I’m very jealous, it seems great. Does anyone else know of other apps similar to vinted (for Ireland)?

CharXo · 17/10/2023 21:07

Ladies are you still taking vitamin D? I’ve just ran out of the one I was taking.. so picked some up in Aldi but when I got home I’ve noticed it’s half the dosage of the one I was taking.. is there a minimum amount we should be taking daily? Not sure if I’ll be ok on these or I should double them up.. help!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 17/10/2023 21:08

I think little man has had a little move about because I'm feeling kicks higher now 😀 hopefully my pelvis and ovaries are safe for now 😄

amyg1985 · 17/10/2023 21:17

@CharXo I'm taking vitamin d. I think the recommended dose is 400iu (which is 10micrograms). I'm taking a higher dose because it's getting dark outside now and it was recommended by my ivf consultant so have lots left but I'm sure you'll be ok as long as it's at least the recommended.

Cheetocat · 17/10/2023 22:56

@Kelb79 Thanks so much for the info!! x

Mangotango39 · 18/10/2023 10:09

I live in a bungalow so getting a bedside sleeper with wheels then I can roll it round in the daytime.
The one I have my eye on has wheels and rocker option!
