I'm currently 11dpo. Had a two faint positives yesterday followed by a positive clear blue this morning. This will hopefully be my second pregnancy due around 14th May by dates. Just wondered if anybody wanted to share the journey, symptoms and advice 🥰

Thanks @Judethepud. Unfortunately I can't get the link to work. Is it a secret group or one we can search?

Hi all

I am just over 7 weeks
Nausea has been bad the past few days but some days I feel good then others feel really nauseous then some days just I'm aware it's there but doesn't make me feel bad
Is this normal for it to change some days
My boobs have got a lot bigger and have started hurting more too
Xx

TheBirdintheCave · 01/10/2023 10:29

@Laura96 Sounds normal to me. Mine was bad for five days then got a bit better before getting bad again. Seems it's up and down.

Nix273 · 01/10/2023 10:42

@Nina7 glad your scan went well!! Such a relief.

it’s interesting how almost everyone has been pushed back a week! Is that because early scans are inaccurate and they eventually catch up to the correct date?
Out of interest who for people who have been scanned? Were you pushed back? Or on track? And if so how sure of your dates were you?

So, my theory about that is: (*I've got no medical background, all information I've got is from the internet)

  1. Error in calculating ovulation/estimating exact day of fertilisation
  1. As with everything is life, things are within a range and not absolute values, and embryos might too have different rates of development (growth spurs?)
  1. Things are so tiny at this stage, that it impossible to know exactly what you're measuring. As the embryo has just folded from a disk to a pole (photo), it must be very difficult to make sure that the sonographer is looking at this pole from the side, so that they can measure the longest dimension.
It's also impossible for the sonographer to change (significantly) the angle at which they're looking to the fetal pole. The yolk sac will always appear round from all angles, which doesn't help knowing the angle either. So I assume that it's really difficult to get any accurate measurement, that's why they don't call it a dating scan before 12 weeks (where they can actually see a bit better what they're measuring)

I think at this early stage, the scan is mainly to exclude an ectopic, or something really not in line with how things should generally look like, and focusing on specific measurements can cause more stress than add anything positive.

Nevertheless, it'll be interesting to see if all the cases we had with measurement taking us back 1-2 weeks will "catch up" at the 12-week scan.

Scrolled way back and found the original link and invite on page 4 of this chat - https://m.facebook.com/groups/2613187292169244/?ref=share
@littlelove23 created it so if that link doesn't work can you maybe share?
Might be a closed group now, sorry if it is.

TheBirdintheCave · 01/10/2023 12:59

@Nina7 My son did 'catch up' and was measuring at my LMP date by the twelve week scan. It was weird!

Nix273 · 01/10/2023 13:05

Defo not working thanks so much for trying though, will wait and see what happens x

UnderstatedElegance · 01/10/2023 14:20

I had the scan this morning and there's a teeny tiny baby in there. I'm measuring at 6w 2d so a couple of days less than I thought. We saw the heartbeat too. It was such a beautiful moment. I just need to pray everything continues in the right direction. I've registered the pregnancy with the hospital today and will book in for the harmony test at 10 weeks, all going well. I hope you're all enjoying your Sunday.
