I'm currently 11dpo. Had a two faint positives yesterday followed by a positive clear blue this morning. This will hopefully be my second pregnancy due around 14th May by dates. Just wondered if anybody wanted to share the journey, symptoms and advice 🥰

@miamiamia869 I'm not even bothering registering until after my seven week scan. Not sure I'll do it even after that. 😅

LBNM19 · 22/09/2023 12:55

@miamiamia869 you’re correct!

For me it has been 3 weeks since conception so I was expecting at least 2-3 weeks then saw 1-2 and freaked out!

I agree it does feel like forever. I think early pregnancy is a really hard time. I’ve been so emotional today I keep crying and I’ve got bad anxiety. I just feel rubbish. I assume it’s my hormones.

Meggan123 · 22/09/2023 14:14

so I stopped cramping at around 3/4 weeks, i’m 6 weeks tomorrow and last night in bed had mild period like cramping, seems to have stopped this morning, no spotting or blood, is this normal? Its made me worry!

FoodFann · 22/09/2023 14:24

Hi everyone, can I join? 4+4, due May 25th 😊 So excited! We were trying for a while

Twdfn123 · 22/09/2023 14:33

Just wondering when everyone does their self refererral form to their hospital to start the journey of all the appointments. I keep thinking signing up and booking scans will just jinx everything! :/ xx

May94x · 22/09/2023 14:53

@Twdfn123 I did a self referral online when I was 4+5 😅 I’m super impatient though and just wanted to get the ball rolling!

They got back to me the other day and my booking appointment is on 12th Oct when I’ll be 8+1 and I’m thinking of booking a scan around the same time as well xx

Fabulous well that answers my question then lol. Im almost 6 weeks so im just going to do it! I've already booked a private scan for 7+6 i think im also a little bit impatient lol!

Good luck with your booking in appointment, so exciting!!

miamiamia869 · 22/09/2023 15:00

Yeah after I posted I got my first referral email through with an appnt for when I will be 8+6... do a long wait and then the first scan I think should be around 12 weeks. I probably won't get any early private scans x

PeppedUp · 22/09/2023 16:32

@FoodFann congratulations! I have the same due date but my app is telling me I’m 4+6?

Carolinealice · 22/09/2023 16:50

Hi 👋
i am also due with my second, I don’t have a due date yet but I am circa 6.5 weeks so due in may some time
I had HG with my son sooooo bad always in and out of hospital and right in time it appears the morning sickness has started again and I’ve just dreading that it gets as bad as before as it completely wiped me out! Anyone else really suffering with sickness? Xx

UnderstatedElegance · 22/09/2023 17:53

@TheBirdintheCave I won't be registering right away either. I think I'm nervous I've dreamt all of this.

I didn't test until yesterday. I'm 5+2 or 5+3 depending on which app I look at 😂

I had covid a couple of weeks ago, so I just assumed it had knocked my period off. I'm currently on holiday so it was tricky trying to ask for a pregnancy test in Arabic when I don't speak Arabic.

I'm just so nervous something will go wrong. Age isn't on my side. I've got a few symptoms so far. Sore breasts, bloating, fatigue.

LBNM19 · 22/09/2023 18:11

@FoodFann i am 5 weeks today and due the day before on the 24/05 going by last period.

LBNM19 · 22/09/2023 18:13

Has anyone been getting alot or discharge? I’m wearing a saintry towel because I keep feeling leaking and I keep thinking that I’m bleeeing but it’s just discharge. It’s clear non offensive but unusual for me.

LBNM19 · 22/09/2023 19:00

@Twdfn123 I have already done mine but got a lot of history to discuss so was eager to know when I can see/speak to someone.

Holdmysunhat · 22/09/2023 19:07

@Carolinealice My heart really goes out to anyone with HG. How are you holding up?

I’m sick as a parrot this pregnancy and have been since 3 weeks (ffs!) but don’t have HG. Didn’t have anywhere near as much sickness with my first pregnancy. Wondered if I might be having twins but an early scan today ruled that out.

Twinkles18 · 22/09/2023 19:46

What dates did people get early scans? I had one at 6+3 with my DD and could see her little heartbeat so I’m tempted to get another one this week as I’d be the same dates. Scared though just incase I don’t see a heartbeat..going away this weekend and would like a scan before I go just for peace of mind..I need advice pleaseeee 😂 or even someone to make the decision for me lol!

MrsBFaith · 22/09/2023 19:53

@Twinkles18 Hey 😊 my app says I'm 5w 5d they're all confusing tbh .. Due to previous losses I had a scan on Monday and they saw a gest sac & yolk sac.. No heart beat yet God willing it'll be there at the re scan next week.

Holdmysunhat · 22/09/2023 21:14

@Twinkles18 I got one at 7 weeks, 5 days as I had a sore shoulder which I was concerned could be ectopic. Once you get a heartbeat you can relax a bit so I’d say don’t book another. Think how many babygros you could buy with the cash you save! I think private scanning places can fuel our anxiety a bit.

Holdmysunhat · 22/09/2023 21:15

Sorry @Twinkles18 i misread your post. My advice is rubbish!

Twinkles18 · 22/09/2023 21:21

@Holdmysunhat my fault, my post wasn’t that clear lol! But you’re so right, I’m just trying to decide if it’s worth my while going at 6+3 (next Tues) or trying to wait until I’m back from my holiday 🫣 ahh the decisions! Had a MC in May at 6+4 so I might wait until after then just incase x

Holdmysunhat · 22/09/2023 21:46

Really sorry to hear of your MC @Twinkles18 While the odds are very much in your favour of everything being perfect this time I’d hold off if it were me. You see women on this site a lot panicking because their early scan dates are not quite as expected and I wouldn’t want that hanging over me on holiday. Mind you, there’s probably an equal argument that if you’re going to be worried anyway you may as well get one.

I used to be quite anti private scans for fueling our anxiety (plus I’ve heard stories of them leaving women in the lurch when it’s bad news as they’re ill equipped to deal with real issues) and I didn’t have any private scans during my first preg for that reason. However my sonographer was so professional and lovely this morning that I’ve changed my tune! She’d have been great no matter the outcome, I’m sure.

GratefulMum10 · 22/09/2023 21:52

After first silent MC in June, am now
5+1. Have booked an early scan for 7 weeks.

Noticed a few people are talking about private scans is there a particular benefit? I've just gone back to the hospital who I was with previously and booked an early scan via the early pregnancy unit. Fingers crossed.

I presume it's an internal scan - hope it's not too uncomfortable.Grateful for any words of reassurance

Not able to get excited about things given what happened last time so it's just about getting to a scan where we can hear the heartbeat :/

Twinkles18 · 22/09/2023 21:58

@Holdmysunhat yes I totally get you! I think I might be ok as long as there’s no bleeding..ignorance is bliss to a certain extent lol! I think i will hold off until I’m home as then il know for definite as you’re right I would def be panicking if I didn’t see anything 🙈
delighted your scan went well today 🥰🥰

Holdmysunhat · 22/09/2023 22:08

@GratefulMum10 7 weeks is often an external scan (is that the right term?!) but depends on what kind of view they’d get. The internal kind (trans vaginal probe I think?) didn’t hurt me a bit today and I’m not especially heroic about pain.

I went private because I had shoulder pains and the good women of mumsnet urged me to get it checked out in case of ectopic. The NHS examined me but didn’t offer me a scan because I didn’t have any bleeding or pain so I decided to do it privately following comments from other women who‘d had ectopics. I def wouldn’t have bothered otherwise and was happy to wait till my 12 weeker. Great you’re getting an early scan from your EPU though - it’s the best of both worlds!

SimplyDiana · 22/09/2023 22:40

27th of May due date here!

I’ve had two chemicals this year. Both happened in quite quick succession following a positive test.

Someone has mentioned lots of discharge…I’m experiencing the same. My last full-term pregnancy was 14 years ago, though, so I can’t for the life of me remember whether I experienced a lot of discharge then.
