I'm currently 11dpo. Had a two faint positives yesterday followed by a positive clear blue this morning. This will hopefully be my second pregnancy due around 14th May by dates. Just wondered if anybody wanted to share the journey, symptoms and advice 🥰

How common are chemical pregnancies ? Lots of talk about them on here which is making me feel a bit nervous I hadn’t even thought about this before looking on here.

I had one last month before catching again this month. They are extremely common. In my case, tested positive, had a while 2 days of joy then started bleeding. If it hadn't been for testing I would have just assumed 2 day late period. We only now know they're so common due to early pregnancy tests. A chemic pregnancy is loss before 5 weeks. Xx

Has anyone ever had brown discharge/bleeding in the very early stages of pregnancy?
On Wednesday night I started to get small amount of brown/light blood when I wiped which I put down to my period starting. It hadn't got any heavier in flow by Friday morning and I did 2 pregnancy tests which are positive. The discharge/bleeding is unchanged since then and I'm not sure if this is a bad sign or not?
I'm due my period tomorrow/Monday if I wasn't pregnant.
I suppose I will just have to wait it out to see if it stops and the tests continue to be positive?

Hi @ErrolFinn I had this last week (week 6), after speaking to two separate GPs (one was out of hours), I was referred to an early baby scan. But all was ok in the end. I would say speak to your gp or midwife if you're worried.

dangermouse34 · 18/09/2023 17:02

Because of previous miscarriage and loss of all symptoms

LBNM19 · 18/09/2023 17:08

I can imagine that’s still difficult to go through when trying to conceive. I’m 4 weeks, 5 weeks Friday and do have some symptoms already hopefully everything will be okay.

Meggan123 · 18/09/2023 17:14

5+2 today and so far I have had cramping (week 3/4) a few twinges, fanny daggers, sensitive nipples/boobs but apart from that no real obvious symptoms. Anybody else not really feeling any symptoms? I kinda want to feel some nausea or something!! I know it’s still super early but from reading here sounds like everyone is experiencing something!

miamiamia869 · 18/09/2023 17:33

@LBNM19 I think I am 5 weeks Friday too going by dates ect. @Sam890 yeah I have had cramps people have said it's pretty normal so just trying to relax my racing brain.

TheBirdintheCave · 18/09/2023 18:03

@Meggan123 I'm 5+4 and have only just got nausea that lasts longer than a few hours today. Fingers crossed it's here to stay!

I think it happens for most people around week six.

Meggan123 · 18/09/2023 18:33

@TheBirdintheCave hopefully, I know it seems strange to want to feel nausea, but I think it’ll help my very anxious brain!

TheBirdintheCave · 18/09/2023 18:50

@Meggan123 I feel exactly the same way. I want it to be as bad as it was with my son so I can feel reassured 😂

Meggan123 · 18/09/2023 19:33

@LBNM19 they are really common! I had one in December, hence the anxiety and crazy testing this time. Back when I had one I had a faint BFP at 8dpo, then 2 days later a ‘pregnant 1-2’ on a digi, ran out of tests so didn’t bother testing again but on 14dpo my period came just as normal, I also had period cramping, If I didn't test early I would not have known but it was very heartbreaking all the same! I think lots of women have them without even knowing if they are not TTC or early testers. They are the reason why most guidance online tells you to wait until AF to test.

LBNM19 · 18/09/2023 19:50

Bless you. I can imagine that was really hard for you and I think I would be the same.

I keep testing but only getting really faint lines on the cheap tests and getting positives on the digital test. Getting expensive. @Meggan123 how far along are you now? X

LBNM19 · 18/09/2023 20:15

@Meggan123 i felt very slightly sick at times.

Very tired and sore boobs so nothing major atm. With my other children I got bad sickness to I’m expecting that to happen.

Meggan123 · 18/09/2023 20:24

@LBNM19 I’m only 5 weeks and 2 days (due 18th May) I tested up until 5 weeks and have now stopped. Just wanted to be satisfied with line progression, now I’m past the chemical risk as AF was due 10 days ago. Now just a waiting game until the scan. Trying to stay positive! My sister had zero sickness/symptoms so maybe I’ll be like her and she has had 3 healthy babies!

nh93 · 18/09/2023 22:38

Hello everyone! Congratulations ladies, hope it’s okay for me to come on here
We have just found out we’re pregnant with our 3rd child and boy what a surprise it was! we didn’t plan to have anymore as i have 2 children (we were adamant we were done haha) Anyway we thought we’d keep it a surprise until later for our families to find out, so glad i can come on here to chat all things pregnancy with you guys :)

I am currently still breastfeeding my 2 year old son which i want to slowly wean him off anyway

Im 5 weeks + 2 with a few twinges and back cramps- really tired
but apart from that that’s it. i really thought AF will be making an appearance but nope i was greeted with a BFP :)

i am getting a little worried though, as i’ve had really bad nausea and morning sickness with my other 2 pregnancies - but hoping i got lucky this time round and all is good & well!

hows everyone’s symptoms are you experiencing cramps too? mainly at the back
xx

Hello congrats! i am exactly on the same boat as you, 5 Weeks + 2 lots of cramps and twinges but no sickness yet :/
hoping i feel something soon

GratefulMum10 · 18/09/2023 22:44

@Meggan123 I have barely any symptoms just some twinges here and there and some cramps from time to time and bloating but nothing too obvious. Trying to not worry about it as I'm sure things will kick in.

When I was pregnant before (and then had the MMC at 12 weeks) I had sore boobs early on around week 5 onwards and nausea at around week 8

Meggan123 · 18/09/2023 22:59

@GratefulMum10 yeah 5 weeks is still very early and alot of the things you read say symptoms kick in later on from 6/7 weeks, no point worrying really!

@nh93 yeah we are still pretty early 🤞 for some signs soon!!

funnily enough I am feeling exhausted tonight, feel ready for bed at 5.30! Could ne pregnancy or maybe just tired!!

Snowdrop79 · 19/09/2023 07:55

Morning everyone.
Decided to throw some money at a clear blue how many weeks test as it was staring at me in the shops. Currently 5+3 and other than sore nipples no symptoms. And my dating scan is booked for 8 weeks so I felt I needed something to fill the gap. 11 days ago I got 2-3 and haven’t tested since. Today I got 3+🥹 Last pregnancy (ended in MC) and only got to 2-3 weeks. Got to take the little wins✨ hope everyone else is going well.

Congrats!!! I did the same this morning due to my previous miscarriage and chemical last month where I never got past 1-2.

But got my 3+ this morning. I know awful things can still happen but makes me feel better for the here and now until my 8 week scan too :) xx

@Snowdrop79 and @Twdfn123 , how many weeks are you please? I'm 5 weeks today and did one of those tests yesterday and it still said 2-3 weeks. It is making me a bit nervous!

Snowdrop79 · 19/09/2023 09:04

@Twdfn123 congratulations to you! Yes I feel exactly the same way.

@Rusticanella im 5+3. But let me just say that I’ve read lots of comments on lots of threads of people that didn’t hit 3+ until 6 or 7 weeks, and some people never actually hit 3+ and went on to have normal pregnancies. Remember that urine HCG levels are affected by so many things. And aren’t always hugely representative of what blood hcgs would be, blood hcgs are obviously much more accurate.

I'm 4+6 today but like @Snowdrop79 said, it can really vary between person to person. That said I know sometimes it's a bit of comfort so I really hope you get yours soon xx

Nina7 · 19/09/2023 12:26

@LBNM19 I'm doing the cheap ones and until yesterday they were pretty faint, yesterday's was a bit darker (and this morning's is not on the photo yet).

I think I'm a day more or less from you, 4+4/5 today.

I think that at this early stage it's very difficult to track progress, but don't overstress, the fact that you haven't got a period is the important thing!! (And you're even having symptoms)

I'll try the digital one that shows weeks in about a week from now, it should show 3+ by then.

I’ve just had an antinatal appointment put in through my GP- it’s around 8/9 weeks, does anyone know if this is a scan or just tests?
