@Needtobuildabridge 😂😂😂😂😂 do u reckon they work?

Chanteuse · 10/08/2023 17:58

Please tell me I’m not the only one who is having hot flashes 🥵 it’s warm here but I’ve had them for a few days. I am ROASTING. If I didn’t know any better I’d swear I was going through the change honestly 😮‍💨

@Chanteuse I am just permanently on the warmer side and was enjoying the 19c and rain to be honest 😂 I was warm enough in that, but I'm on the south coast and it's gotten to 27c today and I'm dying! Literally got home, laid on the bed and then had a shower. Ugh, I'm praying for no late summer in September 😩

Chanteuse · 10/08/2023 18:07

@Sagittarius25 yes it’s about 27 here today too and I am a sweating mess 😂 I’ve been misting myself with my fan all day - hasn’t touched the sides 🥵

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 10/08/2023 18:14

@Chanteuse yeah same here, I’m absolutely dying in the heat! Husband is grumbling about keeping the fan on while we sleep but otherwise I’ll be up most of the night, even when cuddling an ice pack.

in other news these third trimester hormones are insane-a dickhead of a customer made me cry on the phone at work today-one of those calls that would normally just have me silently swearing at him but the hormones make it so hard not to burst into tears! Which makes me even crosser because I don’t want to waste tears on someone who’s so pathetic they’re mean to customer service reps!

How are everyone’s braxton hicks doing? Mine don’t hurt but they’re so so weird

Summer022 · 10/08/2023 20:15

Fan on full blast at night here too. It’s so unbearably hot. My hormones are all over the place, took our cats to the vets today for routine check up and I cried the whole way there as it was so sad seeing them in their little cat boxes 😭🤣

I am a bridesmaid on Saturday so feeling a little stressed about it, I’m not feeling my most confident so just need to try and get through the day as best as possible.

Anyone else suffering with such a bad back especially at night? Pregnancy pillow doesn’t seem to be helping at all 🥲 Running out of ideas, but sleep is definitely in limited supply.

hope you’re all feeling well ladies. Third trimester is flying by now.

Chanteuse · 10/08/2023 22:44

@Summer022 my back is terrible, a trip to the shops is a nightmare I have to hold my back like an old lady!!

My fan is on full blast too and I’ve eaten a disturbing number of ice pops today 🥵

OP posts:
monsteramunch · 10/08/2023 23:34

I'm on my fourth ice pop of the day here too!

Just absolutely boiling all of the time. Clammy with it too, bleurgh.

Thank god we have a lovely fan. I feel a bit bad my other half is shivering away sometimes but not sure what the alternative is as he can put a jumper on but I can't take anything else off 😂

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 11/08/2023 07:06

@Summer022 snap! Me too! Maid of Honour, and I haven’t even written my speech yet so that’s what I’ll be doing today!

ES1986 · 11/08/2023 07:11

My back was killing me last night. Walking helps, although I feel it’s more of a waddle now!

I was woken up by horrendous leg cramp too. I’ve been getting it anyway, but perhaps the hot weather’s contributing to dehydration, which then contributes to cramps? Drank well over three litres of water yesterday though - I physically can’t drink much more 😆

doeandfawn · 11/08/2023 07:48

The only thing to make me cry so far is when food is wrong, my husband is trying to learn to cook so it’s a horrible time for hormones to kick in!

Definitely got a pregnant waddle here too,
I knew bumps were heavy but surprised just how uncomfortable I am all
the time. Today is day 200 of pregnancy, 80 to go!

VanillaOat · 11/08/2023 10:13

Sorry if this has already been posted but is anyone’s nausea back?

I keep heaving this morning for the first time in months!

Esl17 · 11/08/2023 10:13

Anyone else getting pins and needles/tingling/cramping feeling in hands and fingers especially after waking up in the morning? 32 weeks tomorrow.

It does tend to subside about 30 mins after waking up but it’s a really strange sensation. Hope it’s not the start of carpal tunnel - a friend had it towards the end of her pregnancy and couldn’t even hold a pen/fasten buttons near the end!

doeandfawn · 11/08/2023 11:40

@VanillaOat second trimester I had a bit of a reprieve but it’s back now. Finding Rennie’s help a little bit but largely back to non-smelly foods.

@Esl17 my hand was like that, taking wedding ring off fixed it. Hadn’t considered just how much fingers swole in pregnancy.

Esl17 · 11/08/2023 13:22

@doeandfawn not even married/engaged, don’t wear any rings haha, hopefully it doesn’t get any worse!

Also got a wedding tomorrow - no shoes comfortably fit me except Birkenstocks all are too tight!

Ss32 · 11/08/2023 15:57

@Esl17 I’ve got carpal tunnel this time and have had it for weeks in, it’s such a pain! It does sound like you’re in the early stages. It has me up most nights from about 3am onwards!

otherwise I’m actually surprised how good I feel at the mo, 33 weeks and have a 2 year old in tow!

ForeverAndEvers · 11/08/2023 17:13

@VanillaOat so far my nausea isn't back but I remember first pregnancy it came back at 30 weeks and I'm 29 now so worried! Hope you're not feeling too bad.

Also just thought I'd share, flew back from a holiday today and was asked to show my fit to fly note. No one asked on the way but as I boarded today they asked to see it so glad I had it.

Esl17 · 11/08/2023 17:59

@Ss32 ahhh no I suspected as much! I’m a week behind you.

@ForeverAndEvers I flew back from Corfu to Heathrow on Monday at 31+2 wasn’t asked by anyone at either end, bit annoyed as I spent £38 on my fit to fly, but feel like it would have been sod’s law if I didn’t have one I would have been asked! I guess it is just complete luck of the draw which member of staff you encounter on the day!

monsteramunch · 11/08/2023 18:11

Feeling very sorry for myself here gang! Been to doctor and have ear infection in both ears and a throat infection too, ugh. No wonder I've been feeling so run down on top of pain. So much to do work wise and moving house wise but I need to really start taking rest seriously.

It's hard when you're usually someone who is fast paced to learn to stop. I would never judge another pregnant woman for needing to massively scale back on how much she can help with things compared to normal, so it's ridiculous I feel so guilty / like I'm letting people down.

Need to sleep really but can't lie flat on my back now I'm in the third trimester (30 weeks here) as it's not safe, can't lie on front for obvious reasons and can't lie on either side without it making my ears hurt even more. Will create some sort of sitting up pillow prison to try to sleep in!

Oh well it's distracted me from being boiling hot I guess 😂

ForeverAndEvers · 11/08/2023 18:46

@Esl17 that's v annoying you had to pay and it wasn't actually needed. It was literally as I was going to board, the woman checking passports asked if I was pregnant and when I said yes, she asked how far and if she could see my certificate. She gave it a very cursory glance so felt quite tick box but glad I did have it with me. As they asked right at the last minute, I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't had it as if I'd been asked to see someone medical at the airport, I'd have missed the flight by that stage.

ForeverAndEvers · 11/08/2023 18:57

@monsteramunch oh no, poor you! Good luck with building a sleeping pillow tower that works. I'm exactly the same at being terrible at relaxing but please take the time to get better, 3 infections at the same time is a lot to manage. Rest up and have a proper break.

peonygirl · 11/08/2023 21:24

@monsteramunch oh I am so sorry to hear this, I hope you do get better soon. I totally understand the whole scaling down issue, I struggled so much with this in the first trimester. Just try and give your body what it needs - at the moment that's rest. Everything else will be done so much faster once you're better.

Koalawhala · 12/08/2023 11:32

Hope you feel better soon @monsteramunch, that sounds miserable. Are you on antibiotics? If so, I hope they work quickly for you

monsteramunch · 12/08/2023 11:36

@ForeverAndEvers @peonygirl @Koalawhala

Thanks so much Flowers

I've got antibiotics now - today is the second full day of them so really hoping the kick in asap.

I've resigned myself to a day in bed today. Feel awful I'm not helping with the decorating of our new place but even if I didn't have these infections, I'm not that much use at the moment!

Isn't it ridiculous how we feel guilty for stuff we would never judge someone else for? If someone else was ill like this and worried about letting people down I'd tell them to stop being so bloody stupid and just go to bed and chill!

peonygirl · 12/08/2023 11:47

@monsteramunch why not playing a man for a day and make everyone around you believe you are suffering beyond imagination 😂and then enjoy women's football world cup with England playing for the quarter finals (the game is on right now). See, I can easily plan your day 😂Hope the antibiotics kick in and you find some relief.

I am taking a day off too - giving myself and the baby a bit of rest. It has been a busy week.
