Those of you who have been diagnosed with diabetes in the late stage of pregnancy, try to get some colostrum harvested and take it with you to the hospital. In case the baby has sugar issues this will help regulate it. Diabetes team would have likely told you this but just in case.

@OrionNebula my trust has packs with syringes available to pick up at the hospital. I am waiting for week 36, there's nothing happening yet with my boobs at the moment :)

Esl17 · 21/09/2023 11:35

@Flying12 this sounds like a dream - my NHS trust were too busy for me to even get booked onto the 2 antenatal courses they offer - too over subscribed!

OrionNebula · 21/09/2023 11:59

Thanks everyone, not sure if they offer those kits here. I have another outpatient appointment on Tuesday so I can ask.

I'm afraid to do much pumping before my cv section on 2nd as I don't want to bring on labor when baby is still breech.

peonygirl · 21/09/2023 12:53

@OrionNebula yes, this sounds like a good idea, you don't want to go into labor before. My boy is also still semi-breech, apparently he's twisted like a banana :D legs are on the side but head is down. I mean....how is that comfortable hahaha. We'll see where he is in two weeks time when I have another scan.

OrionNebula · 21/09/2023 13:35

@peonygirl same, when I went in for the ECV they said she is in classic breech position so bum down, legs right up by the head. Doesn't sound at all comfortable but I guess she must be!

NSx · 21/09/2023 20:16

Have any of you used one of these ?

Koalawhala · 21/09/2023 20:56

@nsx I had one of those for my DD. She was definitely a baby who had to be moved/jiggled/rocked to sleep so we found it really good attached to the pram. Not an essential of course but we found it useful

NSx · 21/09/2023 21:36

@Koalawhala that’s good to know 🤍🤍 my friend just me this over from Australia, swears by it and so I’m excited to try it and wanted to see if anyone had any experience with it.

I had my shower on Saturday and my friends and family have been ever so generous, it’s so overwhelming especially as it’s our first so we’ve had to start from scratch!

thecatsthecats · 22/09/2023 18:04

I haven't even had a shower, but the nursery is full to the brim with second hand things! Two friends with older boys have both been super generous with their cast offs, I don't think we need any clothes until 9m!

NSx · 22/09/2023 21:19

@thecatsthecats that is amazing 🤍🤍🤍

we don’t know what we’re having so it is a bit harder to buy for. But will get there in the end 😂🩷🩵

thecatsthecats · 22/09/2023 22:09

I think I inadvertently benefit from one of my friends having fallen out with her SIL who is due at the same time as me - everything is coming to me instead, haha.

doeandfawn · 23/09/2023 00:48

We didn’t buy that many clothes because we were warned time and time again that everyone would be gifting us stuff - fast forward to now and nobody has given us any! Overjoyed because it means we can dress him how we want.

ttcttc · 23/09/2023 07:01

@doeandfawn when are you due? People could still gift you things yet 😊

doeandfawn · 23/09/2023 07:24

@ttcttc due right at the end of October but we’ve had our baby shower and received gifts from our loved ones already! MIL took us shopping as her gift so technically bought us clothes but we got to pick them which was wonderful. We’re the first in our social
circle to have children (both 28) so nobody really has hand-me-downs.

Ss32 · 23/09/2023 08:20

I secretly hate it when people buy clothes because, although they’re usually lovely, they’re not just how I want to dress them! We have tonnes left from our first but even gave loads away as there was far too much! My little girl never fit in newborn either so I’ve barely got any of that as it just seemed pointless

Sagittarius25 · 23/09/2023 08:22

I literally asked people at my baby shower to buy a book for baby as a gift instead of anything else as we've already got clothes and pretty much everything else! But it was lovely because I came home from the shower with a lovely little collection of books.

peonygirl · 23/09/2023 09:52

@Sagittarius25 that is such a great idea! I didn't have the baby shower, my friends are all over the country and abroad so I think I might ask for similar once the baby comes. I already read stories to the baby :)

I bought everything 2nd hand on Facebook marketplace and local Mum2Mum markets. Super cheap and have clothes till 9 months. I told everyone not to buy any clothes but if they really want to, to get gender neutral and sizes 6-9 or 9-12 (summer/autumn). I have wayyy to many little outfits, barely worn, that I was given as part of huge bundles.

Mamabear345 · 23/09/2023 11:13

38+5 and I think I lost some of my mucus plug this morning 😬
lots of strong braxton hicks, back pains… I’m hoping this one might make an arrival before her due date 🤞🏼👶🏼🎀

peonygirl · 23/09/2023 12:29

@Mamabear345 looks like something is happening. Good luck!🤗

monsteramunch · 23/09/2023 12:43

katherine123x · 23/09/2023 18:35

Anyone else got lots of pressure in your pelvis? Actually feels like he's trying to get out 😂 only way I can explain it. Feels really low down!!

ttcttc · 23/09/2023 18:50

Yes pressure in my pelvis and can feel baby moving down there 😳

I'm 36 week today and I just feel like I've hit a wall. I've really struggled today with my back hurting, we went to a food market and even just walking was a struggle. My heartburn has ramped up too and I feel shattered. I also feel like I've sprouted.

Anyone else feel like this all of a sudden

Sagittarius25 · 23/09/2023 18:56

Yes also getting moments of pressure in pelvis 35 weeks now - just feels like he's pushing down hard sometimes! Although he's not engaged yet as per midwife last week, must just be bobbing and and out of pelvis. I find sitting on my ball really helps.
