Thanks @BMK, I will definitely look into au pairs. It's out of hours and kids sickness stuff that's the most difficult logistics wise.

@EsmeSusanOgg oh, I've got everything crossed for you. Do you have any contractions yet?

EsmeSusanOgg · 15/07/2023 15:34

Thanks all. No contractions yet (I think - occasionally get a sharpish twinge in my cervix?) ... But my lower back is super sore. I am also so irritable - I feel like I have the worst PMS mood swing ever! My tolerance levels are at zero!

BMK · 15/07/2023 16:25

Oh dear @EsmeSusanOgg the back pain makes me think labour..but no contractions, yet! Are you 35,1 now or when this happened with last baby? Pack hosp bag= v good idea! I just washed the baby clothes and have them out drying, so might get bags done tonight! I am paying for my busy day yday (at the end of which I wrestled with putting down car seats by climbing into back of jeep to try fit an assembled baby co sleeper in!); so am sore and with a heavy pelvis!*anyone else have what I can only describe as a heavy pelvis or weight bearing down in the groin akin to having a bag of potatoes or etc bearing down on ze bottom lady parts!@Marmaladebear good yo know as nice to have light and easily disassembled/assembled pram, which lasts more than 6months!

BCxx · 15/07/2023 18:00

@BMK I had that heavy feeling quite a while ago and found it was from lifting my toddler too much. It was putting strain on my muscles/pelvic floor and causing everything to push down the way! I’ve eased it off a bit and haven’t really had it recently but now most babies are probably heading (literally) in that direction it’s bound to happen more easily 😬 I think by this stage it very much feels like time is just going in slow motion 🙄 all of this will be a distant memory by September 😂

BCxx · 15/07/2023 18:01

@EsmeSusanOgg hope baby hangs in there a bit longer.. I think it can happen quite a bit before labour starts so fingers crossed you get to nearer 37 weeks 🤞🏻

BCxx · 15/07/2023 18:02

Actually quite amazed we don’t have more babies by now.. only one (I think?) and it’s mid-July!

EsmeSusanOgg · 15/07/2023 18:48

@BMK I'm 35+1 now. Kiddo 1, my waters broke at 36+4 and he was born early hours 36+6. With kiddo 1, I lost my mucus plug around 35+4 ish - about a week before my waters broke.

So I wouldn't be crazy surprised if something happens soon.

I currently feels quite nauseous and tired. Lower back is occasionally iffy. But no contractions and waters still seem intact.

He's been very engaged for more than a week.

EsmeSusanOgg · 15/07/2023 18:49

Thanks @BCxx if they can stay in a couple more days at least that would be handy! Last working day (WFH) is Wednesday. Mat leave officially starts 24 July.

BCxx · 15/07/2023 19:51

@EsmeSusanOgg sounds like a similar story to last time so far! Was your baby okay when born last time? Did they need any extra help?

Paintandpots · 15/07/2023 20:58

@EsmeSusanOgg wow, how have you kept going without going on mat leave yet? You must be a tough cookie!!

Btw mad craving for ice cream right now but too tired to get back up after finally getting little toddler to sleep. It's so nice to lie down peacefully without him climbing on me. Lol

EsmeSusanOgg · 15/07/2023 21:17

@BCxx he was fine. No NICU. We had to stay in for 3 days as before 37 weeks - but he was in a side room with me.

@Paintandpots I have no idea! It seemed such a good idea at the time! I think sheer bloody mindedness is the answer!

Daisy155 · 15/07/2023 21:37

@bmk hopefully baby turns by your next appointment and stays! Mine turned head down and then when my waters broke they found out he was turned again breeched and I had to have an emergency c section straight away!

@EsmeSusanOgg hope baby stays as well for a little while and if your other baby was fine last time this may just be the time you give birth your body knows what is best for the baby!

I now have to go into the hospital twice a week for the next 6 weeks and some weeks I have other appointments so I will be going in 3 times some of the weeks! I will have a scan, plus CTG monitoring and blood pressure just because of last year!

I am completely fine now but I think they wanted me to stay in the hospital for a little longer but I just couldn’t do it! It was so loud! Then on the 24th I get to discuss my Selective c section and I also have an MRI scan on my C section scar from last year!

I feel like the days are now moving so fast especially with all these appointments.

I had packed my hospital bag but I now need to repack it again and wash everything I used at the hospital! At least now I know exactly what to really pack!

BCxx · 15/07/2023 22:14

@EsmeSusanOgg that’s good he was all okay! maybe you are just someone who doesn’t need the full 40 weeks to grow a baby and your body is getting ready to go 😊 hope you get a little bit longer anyway!

@Daisy155 that sounds stressful! I know what you mean about the hospital being loud from last time I was in, I literally didn’t sleep a wink and have no idea how anyone could. I almost feel like I’m dreading the overnight in hospital more than the csection! It’s good they’re going to keep such a close eye on you but not ideal having to keep repacking bags 🙈 maybe have an extra bag in the car in case you need one when you’re washing the original stuff!

EsmeSusanOgg · 16/07/2023 07:50

@Daisy155 that's a lot of monitoring. But at least they'll know of everything is ok!

@BCxx I think so. I'm only 5'2 and I have a VERY short torso. Kiddo 1 was just shy of 6lbs. If you saw me in person, I look pretty much ready to pop already. I'm very much running out of room!

Marmaladebear · 16/07/2023 10:24

@EsmeSusanOgg so glad to hear all was ok with your first! You are definitely a tough cookie not starting mat leave yet!!

@bmk yeah it has lasted us well - the buggy is for 6 months+ and my son is still using it at almost 3... We should probably try harder getting him to not use the buggy tbh 😅

Had a date night with my husband for the first time since November and probably our last in a long time (we do the occasional date day during nursery time but date nights feel extra special!). My mum is staying with us a couple days so we could go out and see Hamilton yesterday which was incredible. I was a bit worried being so pregnant and bleeding to pee all the time but I found out the time of the interval and planned my drinking and peeing around that 😂 actually weirdly proud I managed to be the first person in the loos during the interval then the queue was out the door!

Marmaladebear · 16/07/2023 10:26

Unfortunate typo - that should say needing to pee not bleeding to pee!!!

BCxx · 16/07/2023 10:57

@Marmaladebear 😂 glad you had a good night! I went to see a comedian a few months ago but was put off going to anything else because the seats were so comfy it was all I could think about the whole time 🙈 Always feel so conscious in a toilet queue when you’re visibly heavily pregnant.. it’s like people probably want to let you go first but it can be too awkward to say in case they’re not pregnant!

DomesticElf · 16/07/2023 12:21

@Marmaladebear I can't remember when was the last time we had a proper date night 🙈 We did manage to do a cinema+lunch date last week though, which was lovely.
I completely understand you on the peeing front! I was proud of myself for being able to sit through a 2 and a half hour movie without needing to pee 😬 and that's with having a soft drink with my popcorn too 😂

Marmaladebear · 16/07/2023 13:29

@BCxx yeah I know what you mean! No one has let me skip the queue for the loos this pregnancy (my friends tell me I should demand to go to the front but I can't bring myself to 😂 I'm a lot more direct about getting seats on the tube though since there are so many signs saying let pregnant women sit down!!) My last pregnancy a man let me skip to the front of a huge queue to the loos in the park (one of the lockdowns!) And honestly I thought it was so sweet I nearly cried 😂 I was 36 weeks and v hormonal though!

@DomesticElf omg sitting through 2 and a half hours after a soft drink is amazing!! I definitely couldn't do that. Now that you mention it though, I would love to go to the cinema before baby gets here... Not been in years!! Might see if we can squeeze it in on one of my husband's days off while my kid is at nursery!

BMK · 16/07/2023 13:35

@Marmaladebear I was just thinking the same: I can't even remember what I last saw in the cinema it's been so long; oh now actually it has come back to me: Top Gun,which was quite good but that long ago!mum Italian food and the cinema....*just missing red wine and (for me) a cigarette!! @sally16 how are you getting on? I have found an acupuncturist who does moxibustion and acupuncture etc to turn the baby so going to ring in morning as I am not convinced in my ability to do the exercises consistently (hanging upside down off sofa and other awkward inverted position for c15 mins x3times a dayan!)and whether they would even be effective!

BMK · 16/07/2023 13:36

*'mmm', even!!

sally16 · 16/07/2023 13:39

@BMK I'm good thanks for asking 🥰 hopefully that baby shifts! A woman I used to work with had a reflexologist do something to her foot which made baby turn!
Less 3 weeks until eviction day 🥳🥳🥳

So happy seeing all these beautiful babies on the fb group making their way into the world!

newmummie · 16/07/2023 15:34

Hey everyone, hope your all well! My sickness has returned, also been going to the toilet a lot with loose stools (sorry tmi) and on and off period like cramps for the past few days. Google's telling me labour is on the way, does this sound likely? I'm at the stage of get this baby out of me!!! I'm sooo tired and excited now 💙

BMK · 16/07/2023 16:15

@newmummie ,watch out for contractions. The period like cramps can go on for a few days or more than a few days but they then at some point become sore and sharp more like contractions but without any frequency or pattern they are not classed as the labour contractions you get at start of labour. It's a bit of a minefield but the pain of the contractions at that stage is a bit different and thry start to become more noticeably unpleasant or more like really bad period cramps and the odd one maybe stop you in your tracks then maybe stay like that for a while or maybe ease off and for me - last baby - it was general lower back and abdomen pain, wanting a hot water bottle and hide in bed whilst they gradually got more contraction-ey/uncomfortable , then waters going and then I thought 'oh maybe these are the contractions and I should time thebm'-they were actually about a minute or whatever apart when I timed them and about 3 hours later the baby was out- I only got to the hosp with 20mins to spare(in an ambulance for 1.5 hours)!; however I am v quick re onset to delivery, which is much the minority. But it's hard to know re the cramping stage as that can drag on for a while but you will likely know yourself re how you feel etc

BMK · 16/07/2023 16:17

Or maybe they lasted a minute and were 4 mins apart but it was whatever frequency/duration that you're supposed to go to the hosp at
