@TheBeesKnee We’ve gone from black, to green, now yellow and “seedy”. I remember green poop from my first but didn’t think there was anything abnormal about it

Appleby11 · 01/06/2023 21:48

@Janch13 thats good! What did they prescribe? I hope they work for you. I know they mention piles as something that can happen in pregnancy but honestly, it should come with more warnings 🤣 during my Dr Googling, they apparently grade them. 1 being the least and 4 being the most. But they can thrombose as well 😳 which I think mine have. I have a few, which are about grape size. I don't know what's classed as big though. Because smaller ones are just as much as a problem!

Janch13 · 02/06/2023 07:55

@Appleby11 I will report back! Yes I agree.
I managed to escape then during my 1st pregnancy but got them majorly in the birth (I had a big baby!) and they never really went away. They would but come back during the 3 years then when I became pregnant again this time I had them pretty consistently throughout. And then from pushing out another 9LBer they’re now really bothersome!

My stitches, in comparison, I haven’t even noticed!! All the discomfort is from my poor bum!

Hannah310523 · 03/06/2023 07:48

Anybody else due the end of May still waiting for their babies 🤣? X

Appleby11 · 03/06/2023 08:28

Me!! 🤣 Had the balloon and two stretch and sweeps. They've no beds and no midwives so just having to wait. I'm classed as high risk and they said the baby has to come out but forgot to put me on the list 🙄 a complaint will be going in.

Jaymar · 03/06/2023 15:33

Me too, was due on 30th. Booked to be induced next Wed at 41+1. I had a spontaneous labour 8 days early with my daughter so it feels really strange and frustrating being late! Good luck @Appleby11 I hope they give you the best of care now!

tigerlily0 · 03/06/2023 21:54

I was due 31st and still waiting. So nearly 4 days overdue. I had a scan on Tuesday and blood flow, water and movements are all fine. Growth seems to have tapered off, I'm not all that concerned and keeping an eye on movements. Have another appt on Tuesday and I know they will be discussing induction. Had a very frustrating day today , and ppl need to back off from asking me if the baby is here yet, my polite answers are running out! Been on a super long walk this evening and been eating my dates and dtd. Get the odd pains here and there but nothing substantial

Appleby11 · 03/06/2023 22:07

@Jaymar thank you! I hope you and @tigerlily0 manage to get going with yours too 🤗 we've been discussing not doing induction anymore as the hospital seems to be running at least a week behind the dates they're giving for getting us in for things. And potentially moving trusts is a choice we've been given for getting things moving. I just wish we'd never started the induction process as we're now stuck in it and what we've had done has done absolutely nothing. It's been a lot of pain for no reason so far.

Jaymar · 04/06/2023 05:35

@Appleby11 thats so shocking!! Have they been apologetic?

Appleby11 · 04/06/2023 10:59

@Jaymar the midwives have all been lovely. It's hard not to get wound up at them when it's not their fault. It's the system as a whole isn't working and they're trying to help. They're try to get us moved trusts today but there's certain criteria which we don't fit, but hoping somewhere there's a silver lining!

Hannah310523 · 05/06/2023 04:48

@Appleby11 I hope they fit you in somewhere, it’s not fair they’ve started the process already.

I had a stretch and sweep on Friday, never again. The hospital rang and let me choose an induction date so I’ve opted for the longest possible time it’s considered “safe” to go without being induced. So I’m booked in next Monday (I’ll be 41+6). I’m in no rush, just enjoying last few days with bump :)! However I do want baby in a good position and I’ve heard the Miles circuit is meant to have good results, and can also kickstart labour. So might give that a try today.

good luck everyone!

Appleby11 · 07/06/2023 11:32

@Hannah310523 thank you. We were finally sent to another trust on Monday night and she was born Tuesday morning 😍 they weren't happy that I'd had a balloon and two stretch and sweeps 5 days before as everything it had achieved had been undone by the waiting. And God knows where but at some point my waters had gone and nobody knew 🤣

I hope everything goes well for you! It will be absolutely fine. We've had to stay longer than expected which I wasn't prepared for with number of sleepsuits and nappies if that helps. And get some maternity pads in the freezer for when you come home!

Janch13 · 14/06/2023 07:20

How’s everyone getting on? Hope you’re all doing well and surviving the heat xx

Blue2020 · 14/06/2023 09:52

My little one is now 10weeks old, not sure where the time has gone. Although the days and nights feel long the weeks have just gone by quickly looking back. Mine came 5 weeks early and should have been due 6th May.

Appleby11 · 14/06/2023 20:21

Good! Overall anyway. Wish someone would have warned us about the cluster feeding. We were not ready for that! Did anyone end up with stitches? Can I ask how long until I can sit down without it stinging? 😂

Is anyone still waiting for their babies now from being late?

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 15/06/2023 03:14

@Appleby11 about 3 weeks or so for stitches to chill out?

Nell80 · 15/06/2023 04:35

2 weeks til I could sit down easily, four until I could bear to look and touch the area!

raffika · 20/06/2023 07:43

@Janch13 were doing okay thank you. It’s 7 weeks since my ElCS - my scar has healed nicely and I’m feeling like myself again. I’m eager to start running again (couch 25k so nothing too demanding) but waiting for my 8 week check. Baby is doing well, been on 75th centile since 2 weeks old and maintaining that.

Despite appearances though, we’ve had some issues with feeding - first lots of screaming and wind from cows milk formula (went to goats milk, so much better) and then issues with reflux, milk spilling from mouth and general fussiness, and the HV thinks he’s has a floppy larynx. Does anyone have any experience of this, perhaps with older children? We’ve got carobel to thicken the milk which seems to be working, at least to a point, but I’m really struggling with baby’s sleeping - he’s not getting enough sleep during the day, just little short cat naps, and at night he goes into his cot for a longer stint (anything from 4 to 7 hours) and has a feed, change and wind, but then wakes every hour or so for no obvious reason, but will sleep on me.

I’m wondering if he needs a raised sleeping surface (in his cot and his crib/pram were he should be napping) because of the reflux but the Lullaby Trust say this doesn’t help reflux?

Sorry, I kind of offloaded there, but I don’t know what to do!

How is everyone else getting on?

Appleby11 · 20/06/2023 12:03

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl and @Nell80 thank you! My stitches are starting to come out so it's getting a bit easier 😂

@raffika we've been having issues with what we think is colic. Is that something that could be causing issues?

raffika · 21/06/2023 05:43

@Appleby11 I had always assumed colic was a specific problem, but it turns out that it’s just a term used by professionals for an otherwise healthy baby who cries a lot with no obvious cause.

I find that irritating (bordering on negligent) as professionals fob parents off with “it’s just colic” and expect them and their baby to just accept it and live with it until the crying passes, but actually they have no idea what the problem is. Parents accept it because, like me, they think colic is an actual condition, and they trust professionals. Sorry, getting on my soapbox a bit 🤣

My baby’s issues are “colic” but we’ve hopefully managed to crack the underlying cause, so it’s now trying to manage that and what is going to work best.

Nell80 · 21/06/2023 11:58

@raffika I agree it's so annoying! The GP said don't worry it'll pass at about 3 months and I was like but that's 2 months from now! But from what I've read online about PURPLE crying the medical world don't actually know what causes this phase, and the only solution is to wait it out.

We've found infacol helps - don't know if it's a placebo or something but his feeds after that seem so much easier...

Solidarity with anyone trudging through incessant crying!

Appleby11 · 21/06/2023 12:33

@raffika 😂 I completely agree. I'd not really looked into colic until various people mentioned it. We ended up in A and E at 3 days old with the screaming and pain and they suggested trying Infacol as everything for her was showing as fine. She's been loads better on it and the GP said to give it another week before looking into any other causes.

But it's so hard when they're in pain. Crying we can cope with but not screaming. The local feeding group are really good and do home visits and have a 24hour helpline which has helped knowing they're there too.

TheBeesKnee · 26/07/2023 22:23

How is everyone getting on?

My baby is 12 weeks now, where has the time gone 😭

I do feel like I'm getting more into the swing of things now, though. Still not really been to baby groups as I can't face them 😬

tigerlily0 · 27/07/2023 02:11

Wer at 7 weeks now, is anyone else's baby still not sleeping long at night? She's bf and still only giving me max 2 hrs- that's right- max! She does 1hr at a time but then I'm have to feed nappy wind and resettle which takes another 45 min. I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, she's such a good baby otherwise , rarely cries and chills by herself in the day, as in she's not bothered if she's held or not, nighttime feeds at killing me though

OptimusPrime31 · 27/07/2023 08:03

@tigerlily0 you could be describing my baby! She's 12 weeks old and is perfect during the day but at night she keeps waking herself up with bad wind. Me and my partner do shifts otherwise nobody would get any sleep.

Before anyone comments - yes I've tried infacol and gripewater and they've done nothing!I'm going to try giving up dairy in case in helps the tiniest bit. Message me if you find a solution!
