I hope it all goes well for you overnight @Mummybearto3bg 💓

Janch13 · 09/05/2023 21:31

sounds painful @Mummybearto3bg whats the reason you are being induced? Sounds like baby is not ready to come out!

lmw88 · 10/05/2023 07:15

I ended up calling unit again yesterday evening after leaking waters on /off during the day. Blood pressure was v high and pink tinged fluid so they admitted me. Think it's looking like induction as nothings really kicked off....

Nell80 · 10/05/2023 10:43

@lmw88 fingers crossed for you and baby today - well done for calling again and getting admitted x

Mummybearto3bg · 10/05/2023 20:30

@lmw88 how are you doing?

My son was shoulder dystocia so I'm induced to stop it from happening again. Propess did..nothing 🫣 examinations are excruciating now. Had the 6hr gel at 6pm and if it also does nothing, I'm going to ask for a c section. Hopefully making the right decision! How is everyone else doing? Xx

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 11/05/2023 05:49

I was induced yesterday 11am, after waters went Tuesday early am. Wee one born in a flurry of activity on wed at 7pm. All well except she has a cleft palate so more to follow on that in terms of assessment and intervention

Nell80 · 11/05/2023 06:47

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl congratulations and all the best for next steps with your little one x

raffika · 11/05/2023 08:57

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl congratulations! Great to hear little one is well, and I’m sure you’re in good hands sorting out the cleft palate.

Janch13 · 11/05/2023 09:01

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl congratulations on the safe arrival of your baby girl! Hope all goes well with her treatment xx

Thomsonetthompson · 11/05/2023 16:48

So many babies already!

Has anyone else not had any Braxton Hicks? I'm 40+3 now and had some Braxton Hicks at 37/38 weeks and nothing since. Getting worried he's not realised it's time to leave!

RugbyGirl1 · 11/05/2023 16:48

Hey everyone, hope you're all well and it's lovely to see so many baby announcements! I had my little one earlier this week after being induced with the gel because my waters broke but nothing progressed naturally by 24 hours later. I ended up labouring with no pain relief (it had all worn off by that point) as they had no idea my labour had progressed so quickly, then eventually ended up in theatre with an epidural and forceps delivery due to heart rate concerns. I have to say, the care was fantastic and we're home and both doing well. Went to the pub on day two and walked to the shops on day three 👍

tiantian1005 · 11/05/2023 18:15

Congrats to all the babies and new mummies! I am going in for induction tonight hopefully everything goes well!!

Northby · 11/05/2023 21:05

All the best!

lmw88 · 12/05/2023 10:42

@Nell80 Got admitted Tuesday evening, waters leaked all day but it was my BP that was persistently high so they kept me in. . Woke wednesday morning with not much progress in terms of pains to find out I was 5cm when Dr examined me and promptly summonsed me to call the other half and swiftly sent to delivery. Got to 8cm on gas & air but BP took another wobble going sky high so they suggested epidural as a treatment to get things under control. Thankfully resolved the BP and the rest was fairly plain sailing….such a lovely experience for my first pregnancy.

Nell80 · 12/05/2023 10:49

@lmw88 well done! Sounds like you've made decisions that felt right for you which is brilliant 💞 Hugh BP is so scary, I'm glad they got it under control x

Shannondd3108 · 12/05/2023 17:12

Anyone else due at the end of the month? New on this thread and due 29th 😀 congratulations to all the new mummas on here! I’m expecting my second, first was induced at 41+3 so expecting to be waiting a while as only 37+4 atm

Nell80 · 12/05/2023 21:30

@tiantian1005 how did the induction go?

Awkwardusername · 13/05/2023 09:32

Anyone got any advice on quite sore cramps whenever baby moves?
I get them when I’m walking too! Been happening for a couple of weeks so I don’t think anything is necessarily happening but they’ve definitely been worse for the last few days.
Baby is fully engaged (and has been for a while) but no show or anything yet (39+2!)

Appleby11 · 13/05/2023 22:31

What's people's opinions on the people being present at the birth? My OH obviously, I think he'd be a bit miffed if he wasn't involved 😂 but I've been thinking about my mum. Not from a 'I'm a wuss' viewpoint, I'm nearly 36, but I love her to bits and we're very close. So would like her to be there too. But is it weird?

tigerlily0 · 14/05/2023 09:09

Can anyone recommend either a swaddle(s) or sleeping. They weren't really a thing with my other kids, well sleeping bags were but more when the baby was older.

raffika · 14/05/2023 12:41

@tigerlily0 I’m just using standard sleeping bags which people gave us - M&S, George and Tu, as baby doesn’t like his arms being restrained. However, Love To Dream swaddle bags get widely recommended in a FB group I’m in.

Jammiedodger12 · 14/05/2023 15:44

I used love to dream ones with my first as he loved sleeping with his arms above his head. Haven't bought them for this baby yet but I prob will!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 14/05/2023 21:34

@tigerlily0 early days but our little one seems to love her love to dream bags. You can buy them much cheaper 2nd hand btw

ArrrMeHearties · 15/05/2023 16:09

Induction had been brought forward to 39wks on Friday. I'm so ready for this lop

Northby · 15/05/2023 18:33

Hi ladies. Hope everyone is ok. I’m 39 weeks and FTM. I hope it’s ok for me to ask - has anyone had experience with previous losses? I had excruciating pain and contractions with my miscarriages which was quite traumatising and I can’t help feeling really upset and frightened about giving birth to this one. I’ll have an epidural but will have several hours of early labour to get through beforehand. I have a TENS machine and paracetamol ready…
Does anyone have any advice on getting through it or feeling more positive about labour?
