Hi lovely's

Starting a new thread for those that have gone through ivf and are in the early stages as appreciate we have different anxieties maybe to other groups.

I'm Gayle, I had a fresh transfer on Monday the 13th March and I am currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant. First test showed 1-2 weeks, last weeks test showed 2-3 and next test due on Wednesday (clinic have recommended a test a week until early scan) early scan is on the 14th April.

My husband and I have been trying for a baby for nearly 10 years. We fell pregnant naturally 6 years ago, however after some bleeding at 8 weeks, i went for an early scan and was only dating between 5 and 6 weeks so had to go back in a further 2 weeks to check if any development and the night before, I had a miscarriage. We haven't fallen since and following some tests, it was put down to make factor infertility and ICSI and was recommended however we could not proceed (privately) with my bmi so I started the hard work to lose 5 stone in May last year and hit my target in January 2023 to start our treatment.

I feel like there have been lots of barriers in our way so far. Nhs said no, due to my weight it was a no, due to the financials it was a no so to have anything with a yes now without having a massive battle, feels strange and like it's not quite true!

Symptoms so far - sore boobs, cramping, so hungry, feeling little bits of nausea but not sure if it is my mind or it is real

Feel free to tell me about your battle and how you are feeling

@Banbi @greentreeseverywhere

My 20 week is the 14th July as well 😂 busy day for it.

Our is going to be a surprise, I've always wanted a surprise and now we have the chance to keep it that way (as long as we don't accidentally see anything!)

I'm midwife led care but kind of wish I was consultant led as think you end up with more check ups that way. My next midwife check in is 25 weeks so 9 weeks after my last!

So many amazing milestones happening. Most of us are out of first trimester or about to go out of first trimester! Time is flying now!

Hey ladies 😊hope your all doing well, so lovely to see lots of us into 2nd trimester and approaching 12 weeks ❤️
I’m now 17+2 can’t believe it’s seems to go so quickly now after first trimester going so slowly! Helps that my 24/7 nausea has now gone!
I’m measuring 3 days ahead of ivf date so they are using EDD over that.
this week I had my first consultant appointment and midwife appointment- both were very quick just really a check in to see if any questions and check blood pressure and urine sample.
consultant confirmed I have 2 extra appointments at 32 and 36 weeks where they do a growth scan.
starting to show now (although much bigger in the evening 😂) but no movement yet.
feels like this weeks it’s finally hit home that this is happening! 😬🤍
now to begin a list of what we need …..🙈🤯

BrownXeyes · 21/06/2023 08:39

@Hopewishprayer I’m not far behind you I’m 16+3!

I was going to ask tomorrow about extra scans at my consultant appointment so I’ll see if they say anything!

I haven’t felt any movement yet either but they say it can be between 16-24 weeks so maybe we just have a couple of lazy buggers 🤣 xx

gulph · 21/06/2023 08:42

I'm 17 weeks today so just behind you! Every scan I've measured spot on my ivf date so mine has always stayed the same.

I've not felt any defined movements but sometimes I feel like a stretching or like when your tummy drops when you are flying/going over a bump 😂 we got a Doppler that was delivered yesterday and it was telling us there was a heartbeat but the should was just whooshing so will try again another day!

Hopewishprayer · 21/06/2023 17:28

@BrownXeyes good luck with appointment tomorrow, they put me as high risk due to age (40) and ivf pregnancy so it means they give you a few extra appointments. Haha yes probably right lazy babies 🤣

@gulph 3 days ahead of ivf date for me, I thought they’d stick with that as it’s certain but no - I’ve had 3 scans and each one measures another day ahead - goodness know what will happen at 20 week scan 😂
ohh I’ve had that feeling like tummy dropping just never thought about it being the baby moving - will pay more attention now!

FrostedFlake · 21/06/2023 18:14

Hi all, I hope you don’t mind me joining the group! I recognise some of your names from the fertility threads!

This was our second round of IVF as unfortunately we had a miscarriage back in feb. I’m absolutely over the moon thy we have another BFP however I am super cautious as I know how quickly things can go wrong.
I was referred to maternity emergency unit at the weekend as I was getting sharp strong pain in my left hand side which ended up being due to very enlarged ovaries with a lot of follicles (must be the small ones that have caught up) Luckily we also got our HCG done and it had doubled which I was delighted with!

I know I’m behind all of you as I’m only 16dp5d transfer but thought I’d join.

CR7 · 22/06/2023 10:22

Good luck today @Vallef ! Keep us posted if you're in the mood to do so xx

Welcome aboard @FrostedFlake - keep us up to date with your news xx

Hopewishprayer · 23/06/2023 07:24

@FrostedFlake congratulations on your bfp! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy 💕 welcome to the group x

Stopthatnoisemummy · 23/06/2023 07:40

@FrostedFlake welcome, hope you are feeling OK

@BrownXeyes how was your appt?

@Hopewishprayer @BrownXeyes I definitely didn't feel DD this early, and v common to feel a 2nd earlier than the 1st, so sure its not a case of lazy babies haha

@gulph @BrownXeyes the 14th is going to be an exciting day!

@gulph our first was a surprise, I have lovely (groggy) memories of coming round after my GA and DH introducing me to baby and telling me she was a girl 🤗DH wanted to find out last time and didn't for me and logistically might be easier to know this time so I have acquiesced!

BrownXeyes · 23/06/2023 08:47

@Stopthatnoisemummy honestly a waste of time!! They took my blood pressure, a urine sample, asked me about pregnancy history said they would scan me 4 weekly from 28 weeks cos it’s IVF and sent me on my way! X

Hi everyone,

I had a FET with a PGT tested 5AA quality embryo on 01.06.23. I am now 22dp5dt. I had the first ultrasound yesterday (transvaginal). Doctor could only see the gestational sac. She said there might be something in it but wasn't so sure. My hcg is doubling regularly. It was 4273 last Monday. So it supposed to be around 8000 yesterday. It is normally a good number to see the yolk sac but she said 5w 5d is too early to see it. By the way, she is not an IVF specialist. Since I did the IVF abroad, I cannot go to my clinic right now. She wants see me again next Monday. I will be 6w 2d then.

Was there someone in the same situation and turned out to be fine in the end?

After 6 failed embryo transfers + 1 miscarriage, we did everything we could this time. Hysteroscopy, PGT, endometrial scratching, doxycycline, cortison, you name it! I was really hopefully since hcg was rising perfectly this time. Since yesterday I feel like my breasts are not as tender and my belly is not as tight. Feels like pregnancy symptoms are fading...

I attached the picture from yesterday's scan. Did anyone have a similar experience which at the end turned into a healthy baby?

@CountessIVF hi and welcome. Defo too early from my experience. Try not to worry although that is easier said than done. I didn't have my first scan until 6+6. Bloods sound very promising xx

Stopthatnoisemummy · 23/06/2023 12:47

@BrownXeyes those extra scans will be lovely though 😍

BrownXeyes · 23/06/2023 13:10

@Stopthatnoisemummy they will and will keep the anxiety at bay and save me paying for them. Next one is 14th July and that’s the gender scan! Can’t believe how quickly it’s come round! Hope everything is ok with you? Anything new?x

Stopthatnoisemummy · 23/06/2023 14:20

@BrownXeyes had my 16 week midwife appt today, all was good and heard baby's heartbeat 💓.

Contrary to what the consultant said earlier in the week, my midwife has changed my due date to the 3rd. I did question it because of the ivf dates but she said they usually go by scan. Its only 3 days so I'm not hugely bothered, and perhaps a little more likely that baby will come end Nov than early Dec which isn't necessarily a bad thing!

I'm back at the hospital to see the mental health team as I had some post natal anxiety last time, so they keep a closer eye on you 2nd time round.

I'm away for a child free weekend this weekend which will be lovely 😁

CR7 · 23/06/2023 16:07

NIPT back all very low risk! Have managed to pick up some sort of infection though and had to fork out a fortune in Spain for a private prescription for amoxicillin but one of us will be celebrating tonight with sangria and one with water 🤣🤣

CR7 · 25/06/2023 21:07

Can I ask what supplements you're all taking?

I take vita west first trimester and was going to order second trimester.

However I hate having to take three tablets each day.

Is anyone taking something that has everything in one tablet? xx

Stopthatnoisemummy · 25/06/2023 21:12

@CR7 I just take a general pregnancy multivitamin, and usually whichever is on offer! Pregnancare so far and have got superdrug own brand for when the others run out.

gulph · 25/06/2023 21:12

@BrownXeyes awwww I'm the 29th November!

@CR7 I'll admit, I was taking pregnacare max up to 16 weeks, then I ran out and haven't yet got more as the price seems to have doubled! I managed to pick up a few boxes at the start for £10 a box so seeing them for £15-£20 seems a bit much! I obviously want to be as healthy as I can be through my pregnancy, however I kinda know from now that there is nothing specific that baby needs like in the first trimester so I'm not quite as bothered at getting another box. Towards the end, I may need a boost of vitamins etc but for now, if I see them on offer, I'll get them, if not, I'll just make sure I'm getting plenty of fruit/veg/protein/fibre etc.

Also, those that have been given aspirin, are you 2 per day? Dispersible? Do you do twice per day or take two in one sitting?

Mine is meant to be twice a day, morning and evening, dispersible tablets and im really struggling to remember the morning one. I end up taking 2 in the evening with other medication I take for my mental health. Also dispersible -bloody yuk! My midwife was very much, you should disperse them first but anyone just take them as normal tablets?

CR7 · 25/06/2023 21:47

Thank you @gulph xx

I'm on 75mg. Nhs asked me to double it but I stuck to what my consultant said. It's just a normal tablet xx

Hi everyone hope we all have a lovely week! Nice to see all the updates from everyone and to see all going well:)

My 12 week scan was amazing I saw feet and hands floating about and was so shocked. Obv I know their growing but I think it shocked me how big they were compared to 2 weeks ago. Gd news is the cervix is still holding strong as the threat of stitches is giving me goose bumps lol. I have the nuchal transparency test tonight so abit nervous and cross fingers all goes well!!!

@CR7 hope the antibiotics has helped you!! Glad the NIPT came back low risk its such a worry until results come back isnt it. In regards to vitamins I was told il be told to start vitamins in 2nd trimester so next week roughly but haven't been told what exactly yet but I reckon will be iron, vitamin d and magnesium for sure as aparently ots important to have gd stores of it.

@gulph am on 100mg aspirin once a day and I was told to now take it in the evening instead of morning as aparently at this stage the aspirin is more effective at night? Either way gd for me as I always forgot it in the morning!
