Hi lovely's

Starting a new thread for those that have gone through ivf and are in the early stages as appreciate we have different anxieties maybe to other groups.

I'm Gayle, I had a fresh transfer on Monday the 13th March and I am currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant. First test showed 1-2 weeks, last weeks test showed 2-3 and next test due on Wednesday (clinic have recommended a test a week until early scan) early scan is on the 14th April.

My husband and I have been trying for a baby for nearly 10 years. We fell pregnant naturally 6 years ago, however after some bleeding at 8 weeks, i went for an early scan and was only dating between 5 and 6 weeks so had to go back in a further 2 weeks to check if any development and the night before, I had a miscarriage. We haven't fallen since and following some tests, it was put down to make factor infertility and ICSI and was recommended however we could not proceed (privately) with my bmi so I started the hard work to lose 5 stone in May last year and hit my target in January 2023 to start our treatment.

I feel like there have been lots of barriers in our way so far. Nhs said no, due to my weight it was a no, due to the financials it was a no so to have anything with a yes now without having a massive battle, feels strange and like it's not quite true!

Symptoms so far - sore boobs, cramping, so hungry, feeling little bits of nausea but not sure if it is my mind or it is real

Feel free to tell me about your battle and how you are feeling

I’m the same with the taste in my mouth at all times x @BrownXeyes

BrownXeyes · 24/05/2023 13:22

@CR7 that’s good to know that someone else is getting that to - it’s not the metallic taste it’s just the after taste of anything I eat! X

Pregnancyaftermiscarriage · 24/05/2023 13:54

Following on from my message the other day, we’ve had a confirmed early miscarriage. Heartbroken that it’s happened again but trying to look towards the future!

CR7 · 24/05/2023 15:29

Yes exactly x

BrownXeyes · 24/05/2023 16:57

@Pregnancyaftermiscarriage i am so sorry to hear your news. Please take some time to grieve this miscarriage and for yourself. Xx

CR7 · 24/05/2023 17:41

So very sorry to hear. We are all sending love xx

gulph · 24/05/2023 17:43

So sorry! Take some time, you don't have to get straight back to the ivf straight away if you aren't mentally in the right place. Look after yourself 💗

Hopewishprayer · 25/05/2023 08:18

Hey, hope everyone is doing well!
I am 13 weeks today and stoped all medication last week, scan not till next tue 😬 had a private scan at 11 weeks and all was great.
I’ve started to freak out a little this week because I no longer feel nauseous or tired and have had both from 5 weeks, I’m feeling more back to my usual self, which is great BUT I’m so worried something has gone wrong - I know that around 12 weeks that things should improve as placenta takes over, but I didn’t expect it to be an instant change - anyone else had this? X

Vallef · 25/05/2023 09:49

@Pregnancyaftermiscarriage so sorry about your news hun look after your self and hopefully you can try again when you feel up to it xx

Vallef · 25/05/2023 09:53

@Hopewishprayer that's amazing news seriously because I have been feeling so crappy since week 5 from nausea to loss of appetite and bloating and cramping and headaches and just generally not my self so am so glad to hear there is a rainbow at week 13 hopefully! I have read that 2nd trimester it gets better and obviously once the medication is also stopped realistically it makes sense you feeling better :) buy I do get what you mean about stressing that your not feeling all these things anymore. One day am cramping and stressing the next I feel no cramping I worry the day after that I feel sick the day after that it isn't noticeable I worry its like a back and forth battle but I hope hope we will all get there so we're all telling each other our worries about giving birth!

UrbanParakeet · 25/05/2023 13:27

@Pregnancyaftermiscarriage My heart goes out to you. So sorry to hear about the news. Hope you are ok soon x

had a phone call from the hospital early pregnancy unit this morning and they’ve asked me to go back in tomorrow for another scan and bloods to check for ectopic again as the lab results came back and my HCG is staying the same after 2 days…. They based yesterdays decision of miscarriage on the instant blood tests they do which showed a decrease in HCG but these aren’t as accurate as the lab tests which are showing the levels remaining the same. Fingers crossed it’s not ectopic, really don’t need more to add to it!

Stopthatnoisemummy · 26/05/2023 10:44

Thank you @CR7

@BrownXeyes remind me when your scan is - early next week?

BrownXeyes · 26/05/2023 10:57

@Stopthatnoisemummy its Tuesday afternoon. I am so nervous and anxious. I had one at 11 weeks and everything was ok and next week is 13 weeks I’ve just got in my head it will go wrong somewhere and I can’t seem to shift the feeling x

Vallef · 26/05/2023 12:01

@Stopthatnoisemummy that's amazing hun in time to enjoy the long weekend as well!!

I had my 8 week scan yesterday although officially I was 7w+5d and it was amazing and so unreal to see and hear the heart beat. Just counting down to the next 2 weeks for the next scan. I was told to cut down on lubion actually and not do it again and they have slightly reduced the progesterone tablet dose am on and oestrogen tables so feel abit nervous but aparently doctor was happy enough with what he saw and he said the baby is also helping abit more so was considered safe to reduce. But just makes me feel anxious!!

laurapop · 26/05/2023 16:33

@Hopewishprayer I'm not that far yet but that happened in my last pregnancy.. around 11/12 weeks it just magically got better and I felt myself again. Think it's totally normal as the placenta has taken over 😊 x
