Thank you @Pip1402 yes i have two different anti-emetics and an anti reflux medication so I’m not vomiting as many times, but still feeling nauseous all day and retching. The GP said she could try another type of medication but there’s a risk of cleft palette to baby so I’m avoiding it to be on the safe side.

i hope you feel better soon.

NatGee · 22/03/2023 17:40

@doozledog sorry to hear about your mmc :( as for symptoms, maybe thats just how your body reacts to the changing hormones and nothing to do with the health of your pregnany. I have every faith your bubba is doing fine. I hope your scan does go well, and not long to go until then. Let us know how it goes x

@HayleyD93 Again quite sensible, not sure how much they are in your area but round where I am they're about £80-£100. I have no plans for an early scan. I don't even know if I want one at all? There's so much we can find out through blood tests that I may choose to put my money towards those. I suspect the NHS won't refer me to them so ill have to take them up privately.

@BettylovesAugust so sorry to hear you're struggling :( to be honest I am too, and the nausea is crippling. How do you carry on, with work and everything else? I took a two hour nap today after lunch, meaning I did no work during that time. Did you speak to your managers? I personally don't want to because I am only 6+4 and feel its just too early.

LMW84 · 22/03/2023 17:53

Feeling really anxious today. I had some brown discharge and cramping this morning, the doctor managed to get me a scan booked for Saturday morning with the EPU, but the next couple of days are going to be nerve wracking just waiting. Has anyone else had anything similar? It didn’t last for too long, and there was no fresh blood, but it’s got me so worried. I’m only 6+1, so I don’t even know if they’ll be able to see much at the scan on Saturday.

NatGee · 22/03/2023 17:57

@LMW84 yes I did, starting exactly at the same time as you 6+1. I had the smallest amount brown discharge for a couple of days when i wiped and then it turned a little pinker and back to brown. It did look a little bit like coffee grounds and i read that it's extremely common in early pregnancy and so long as its brown, it shouldn't be a cause for concern. I havent had much at all today and feel fine, outside of the nausea. Please try to relax, I know it's upsetting to experience it but in most cases it's perfectly normal. I also have cramping by the way, it comes and goes. As long as it's not pain, again, should be OK. Good luck with the scan for Saturday morning x

Sb86 · 22/03/2023 17:58

@LMW84 I started brown spotting a few days after my bfp I have my scan tomorrow finally after over 2 weeks wait. Also had a bigger bleed Saturday when I went to the loo, so really not sure what the outcome is going to be. I had brown spotting in my last pregnancy and that ended in a mc at 8 weeks. Ask about progesterone x

BettylovesAugust · 22/03/2023 18:04

@NatGee I had to get signed off work as I was vomiting 4-5 times a day and had to go to hospital to have fluids and medication via IV. I’m due back next week but honestly unsure if I will manage.

Journey2022 · 22/03/2023 18:33

Hi All, I had my 2nd hcg blood test today at 4+1 it was at 251 and today at 4+3 it was 567 I believe this is a good sign. They have offered me a scan for next week to hopefully check everything is where it should be (cannot do a scan before hcg is at 1500) and put my mind at rest a bit as I am so anxious.

My scan will be at 5+4 I know they wont see much but hopefully can at least tell if I have implanted in the uterus? Has anyone else had a scan this early? I have heard of heartbeat showing at 5ish weeks sometimes.

I can get a scan privately near me from 6 weeks for £55 so I will probably be booking one of them after this scan. I honestly just feel like something is going to go wrong for me, I am so anxious.

MooseWL · 22/03/2023 19:10

@MeganC104 My NHS one is also on 21st! (Though I've also got a private one booked on the 1st!)

I'm so sick of being sick. It's really triggered by being in a car too, I'm meant to be at tomorrow but dont think I'd make it in. Lucky that my boss has said I can work from home whenever I need!

Hi everyone. Third pregnancy in ten months, no baby yet. Due 24th Nov. Lovely to meet you all x

DollyGx · 22/03/2023 19:35

@41andtryingforfirst Welcome! So sorry to hear about your previous losses, that must have been so hard. Sending you all the sticky baby dust ✨

41andtryingforfirst · 22/03/2023 19:39

@DollyGx thank you! Been spotting already this pregnancy so been back to EPU but I'm hoping all will be ok this time. I'm under the care of Tommy's recurrent miscarriage clinic in Birmingham and I'm being well looked after. I have a repeat blood test tomorrow and a scan on Friday. My bloods came back yesterday as 1808 HCG. I was 4+5. Seems a bit high to me?

LMW84 · 22/03/2023 19:54

Thanks @NatGee & @Sb86 I’m trying to stay relaxed ☺️ Will hopefully feel better after Saturdays scan x

NatGee · 22/03/2023 19:54

@BettylovesAugust oh wow I am so sorry. How are the meds working for you? Would you be able to work from home next week? Xx

@41andtryingforfirst welcome and sorry to hear of your losses. Fi gers crossed this one will stick. High hcg could mean you're having multiples. As you may know they are more commonplace in older ladies. I'm 39 and the thought of more than one baby frightens and excites me in equal measure 😅

DollyGx · 22/03/2023 20:00

@41andtryingforfirst sounds like you’re in good hands. Was just about to say the same as @NatGee could potentially be multiples?! Wishing you all the best for your scan, you’ll need to keep us updated!

41andtryingforfirst · 22/03/2023 20:01

@NatGee thank you. Gosh yes well I guess I definitely fit into the older bracket, I'm 42 in a couple of weeks. Twins, well, that would be great, but yes, terrifying also. I'll just be happy with a healthy baby, who is the right place and has a heartbeat. But twins would be pretty great x

41andtryingforfirst · 22/03/2023 20:02

@DollyGx yup I will do! All my fingers are crossed x

ElleBurton88 · 22/03/2023 20:38

@bettylovesaugust sorry to hear of your experience. I'm extremely tired and nauseous but managing to not vomit and I feel guilty for being misserable rather than excited about this pregnancy. I really want to be excited but I'm just so tired.

marateach · 22/03/2023 20:44

Hi lovelies. I’m 7+1 and haven’t heard back about making a midwife appointment- I’ve left two messages in the last couple of weeks. Should I keep chasing? Or am I being impatient?! (The answer to that is usually yes!)
Have got a private scan booked for Friday to check if everything is looking ok xx

NatGee · 22/03/2023 20:46

@marateach not sure where you are but in my area the booking appointment should be done by the 8 week mark. I heard back v quickly. Do you know if you have to fill in a form online? That's what I had to do. Ask your gp if you're unsure, again that's what I did. I called to say I'm pregnant and what to do and they gave me the web address I needed.

The GP gave me a phone number which goes straight to voicemail and they say they’ll call back within a few days… it’s now 2 weeks since I first called! I’ll try again tomorrow and ask the GP to chase up as well x

I've finally got over my anxiety enough to actually post in here... 14dpo been getting positives for 6 days, with good progression. However my fear of another loss was too much to let me accept it! Ectopic in October and a chemical last month. Then today I did this! To say I'm happy is an understatement 😁 still absolutely petrified though. Rough estimate of EDD is 30th November.

TTCJJB · 22/03/2023 21:11

Lovely, congratulations! 🥳

Udford · 22/03/2023 22:45

When is everyone planning on telling their employer? I've only been in my current role since January so I'm absolutely dreading it 😖

JD90 · 22/03/2023 22:53

@Udford you'll find a huge range of answers to this question as there are so many factors going into it. I already told my manager, but that is because of my history. It means that if something goes or starts to go wrong I can just send her a brief email/message saying 'suits hitting the fan I need some time' without the pressure from her to come back ASAP or a million questions that at that point I probably wouldn't want to be answering. I will also have multiple appointments in the next few weeks that are likely in going to be both in work time and possibly even where I work. I work in a&e so worst case scenario I have to book in there my team will see it on their screens as soon as it happens too. I do however have a really good relationship with my manager and she has supported me so much through my previous losses that I didn't have any fear about talking to her. No one else in my immediate team knows though and I don't plan on telling them for a fair while.

JD90 · 22/03/2023 22:54

Suits hitting the fan 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ bloody autocorrect. *Shits hitting the fan.
