@Sb86 to be fair they cannot see much on the scan before 6 weeks - (particularly if your dates are out a bit) so maybe that is why they say 6 weeks to avoid scans being done too early and not seeing enough. for me they said when my HCG is high enough (they didnt tell me what that needed to be though!). Is it worth calling them explaining you have a lot of spotting and your highly anxious and really play on it and see if they are able to bring it forward to calm you? 6 weeks probably isnt that long to wait in the grand scheme of things but it really drags when your anxious doesnt it.

Journey2022 · 21/03/2023 16:49

@Fairylight102 I am 4 weeks 2 days today and I havent had hypersensitive smell or nausea, I have had cramping - both sides and middle, my boobs are achey and were from sunday/yesterday and gradually feel worse, I notice if I move around and they feel heavy. I did have some vulva sharp pain across the weekend too. That is it though! Everyones hormones, and symptoms can be different though, and can vary from each pregnancy with the same person.

Journey2022 · 21/03/2023 16:51

@Fairylight102 I have been exhausted from Sunday too actually - but I havent slept very well - this weekend I wasnt sleeping well worying about my faint lines getting darker on the tests, but now where ive been awake half the night a few nights in a row my body clock wants to wake up at 3am 🙄So im not sure if its poor sleep or hormones with that one!

Sb86 · 21/03/2023 16:58

@Journey2022 yeah they said they won't give me any progesterone until 6 weeks by which point they should be able to see the heartbeat anyway...they saw heartbeat at 5+5 last year before the mc but it's pointless having me in to make me come back I guess if they can't see it. It absolutely does drag when everytime you go to the toilet you're wiping and there's spotting 🫠 2 more sleeps and I'll know either way.

Pip1402 · 21/03/2023 17:01

Thanks for the feedback @Udford I don't have many options so think I'll have to go with MYM but I'll lower my expectations! All I'm hoping for is to find out whether there's a heart beat so fingers crossed they manage that!

Journey2022 · 21/03/2023 17:02

@Sb86 I was given progesterone as I was taking letrozole. I started it 3dpo just 1 a day and 11dpo 2 a day when I got my first faint line. I really hope these 2 nights go quickly for you!!

Mrsrobinsonx · 21/03/2023 17:06

Hi ladies! I have a scan booked at EPU next week due to my history of miscarriages, I’m feeling really nervous now I didn’t realise it would be so soon, would only be 6 weeks (6+6) based on lmp. Is that too early to see anything? 🫣

Fairylight102 · 21/03/2023 17:12

@Journey2022 thank you! Hope you start sleeping better soon!

Fairylight102 · 21/03/2023 17:15

@Mrsrobinsonx hope it goes well! Can I ask, how was your early scan with the EPU arranged?

I’ve self referred to my local maternity hospital (EPU is also there) and mentioned previous MC on my form, so I’m wondering if they’ll arrange an early scan or I’ll need to contact the EPU separately myself.

LittleMissSunshine2020 · 21/03/2023 17:37

Hi guys,
Sorry if I've missed this already but when is everyone planning on telling their families?
Easter is coming up and I'll be just over 10 weeks then - I'm thinking I might book a private scan for the day before and tell everyone on the day?
I'm really torn though!

Mrsrobinsonx · 21/03/2023 17:52

@Fairylight102 soon as I told my gp I was pregnant again they did a referral to epu as the miscarriages have been quite recent, then they rang me with an appointment. So I think they do it automatically if you meet the criteria? x

@LittleMissSunshine2020 I’m planning on telling my family at Easter, if everything is on track when I have a scan. I’ll only be 8ish weeks x

Blondie1024 · 21/03/2023 18:02

@LittleMissSunshine2020 me and my partner are planning to hold off telling family until around the 12 week mark. Just because we want to tell our kids first (still trying to think of a unique way) and don't want to have to explain if something goes wrong. But holding it in is killing me lol.x

Sb86 · 21/03/2023 18:09

@Fairylight102 mine was different to @Mrsrobinsonx I actually rang the EPU myself and they booked me in because of previous mc and I'd started spotting. Just give them a ring and see what they say, they told me when I mc in October that if we got pregnant again that I'd be offered an early scan xx

Runnergirl1 · 21/03/2023 18:20

@38andtrying great news about your scan

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 21/03/2023 18:20

@LittleMissSunshine2020 The day before Good Friday I'll be only 6+5, so probably won't be able to tell family over Easter as that will be too early for a scan probably! If I was nearer 8 weeks I'd probably try book an early scan and tell family if everything was looking OK.

EBeans · 21/03/2023 19:05

Welcome @Udford and congrats on the pregnancy! My due date is Nov 4th... which is also the date of my 30th birthday so I'm hoping it budges forwards a little bit 😂

Mldn · 21/03/2023 19:06

I feel literally normal today 😩 apart from sleeping until 3pm (day off luckily!) But my appetite is back, boobs less tender, HR normal levels & dizziness has gone. So paranoid, even though I had a healthy looking scan on Sunday. There’s really no chill in this first trimester is there. I felt god awful yesterday & strangely wish I felt that way now!

JJ2023 · 21/03/2023 19:07

vix_85 · 21/03/2023 19:27

@TMI2000 have you tried babybond in Plymouth?

TMI2000 · 21/03/2023 19:42

@vix_85 didn’t even realise they had a clinic in Plymouth! Thank you!

Noneyerbuisness11234 · 21/03/2023 19:45

@38andtrying amazing news glad it went well I'm soo nervous for mine on Thursday morning having cramps tonite but don't no weather it's because I need the loo or not lol

vix_85 · 21/03/2023 19:52

@TMI2000 yes they're so lovely as well. They were who informed of us our first missed MC and they were so lovely. All being well, will be heading to them again at 7 weeks.

Journey2022 · 21/03/2023 20:13

We have already told our mums on mother's day (I had been getting positive tests for 3/4 days at that point) we have been doing fertility treatment which they knew about so wanted to share it ASAP as particularly my mum gets weekly updates on what's going on and would find it weird if I said nothing for 3 months or even 3 weeks 😆 it was nice though, very emotional. But I did keep saying to not get their hopes up. Then we would talk about it as if baby would be here for xmas, or I'd have a bump by our holiday away as a family in the summer etc then I'd say we'll it may not happen. I'm really struggling to believe nothing will go wrong 😬🙈

anna2101 · 21/03/2023 20:25

Just went for my early scan at 7+3 and measuring exactly on the day, saw a heartbeat and everything 🥰 one thing I wanted to share to those wondering - they did it abdominally (did ask me to drink a cup of water beforehand).

Leiapup · 21/03/2023 20:40

@Journey2022 aww I love the idea of baby being here for Christmas 🥰
