@Mldn I’m continuing to exercise, doing what I’ve been doing but with less intensity but still up at 80, sometimes 90% for a short while, of my max heart rate, my body won’t let me push hard for long anyway, for about 10h a week. I’m nauseous and fatigued but I always feel better after exercising so I try to get it done first thing. I’ve done lots of research about exercise in pregnancy and it’s nothing but benefits for you and the baby. I also had my booking in appointment yesterday too and the midwife said they recommend you continue with the exercise you’ve been doing and if you haven’t done any, you should start! Within reason of course- if you’re a kick-boxer or a free diver you shouldn’t maybe continue.
I might do a triathlon in 2 weeks time but haven’t decided yet, I’ll of course go at a comfortable pace.
I exercised throughout my pregnancy with my son as well, I did a CrossFit comp at 15 weeks and a half marathon at 16, I think it was. I listened to my body but pushed quite hard in training throughout pregnancy, my water broke while training 😊 I’ve exercised at a high level all my life so my body is used to it though.
You sound like an experienced runner and I wouldn’t worry about your hr, I think your body would let you know if it’s too hard.
Obvs don’t push it so you get lactic acid or try to go for a 10k pb 😅
When some ignorant people tell me it’s dangerous to exercise while pregnant I tell them some countries wouldn’t have to fight against the right to have an abortion if it was that easy to “ get rid of a baby”.
My midwife also said that if you don’t have a high risk pregnancy there is not much you can do to induce a miscarriage if the baby is healthy.
