I feel the same panic all the time! Especially as I started spotting yesterday - trying to stay as unstressed as I can until my scan on Tuesday!! Paranoid over every bit of spotting and every slight cramp!

However, I have woken up feeling extremely nauseous again this morning! The dogs breakfast nearly took me out and it took me about 15 mins to eat the smallest bowl of cereal 😅😷

I've never felt so grateful to feel sick!!!

SnookyPook · 30/03/2023 08:32

@Bonsaitoodry had my booking in yesterday and think everyone covered the main points in the previous posts 👍🏻

Pip1402 · 30/03/2023 09:00

@Bonsaitoodry when my appointment was booked I downloaded an app which allowed me to answer all of the questions in advance. It's called Badger Notes. It saved lots of time in the actual appointment.

Spareincoming · 30/03/2023 09:24

Sorry, a big grumble ahead…

Well I’m going to say it here because I can’t say it in real life. I don’t think I like the community midwife I’ve got.

Everyone else seems to love her, the receptionist when I booked my appointment was simpering over her, but she’s not my cup of tea.
The previous one retired at Christmas and was adored by everyone and I really liked her.
But this one, nope! Maybe it was a bad day for her but as we went through my slightly complex medical stuff it seemed like it was all just an effort. And once again she was dismissive over NIPT/harmony testing.
She said she’d reviewed my notes in detail as I was complex but after I said about having a c-section previously, which is on the first page of my notes, she told me all the merits of VBAC even though my notes detail that I will always have to have a c-section for all births and the consultant I’m already under has said all through my care he would not advise any attempt at VBAC and as he would be the one to authorise the c-section, I should consider myself c-section only!

Oh well.

I’ve no alternative I can see as we live rurally and have to go to another Doctors practice to see the midwife as it is. At least it’s in the right direction to work - my own GP is in the opposite direction!

and breathe!
Sorry!

Morning all. Just got back from the EPU. Pregnancy is in the right place and looking good at 6+3. Yolk sac was identified but they couldn't see the embryo yet... so got another scan booked for 2 weeks time. She reassured me this was very normal... can't help not overthink it though 😬🤪

38andtrying · 30/03/2023 10:40

I am slightly freaking out this morning, i have woken up and feel good, i have energy and no nausea, i can't stand this! my head is absolutely fried thinking 24/7 about how i feel, pregnancy after loss is so unfair, i cant help thinking something is wrong every day. I don't know what to do, i cant keep having scans every few days.

I have stopped getting up in middle of the night to need the loo and have no nausea today, well from last night after dinner no nausea

Skyla01 · 30/03/2023 10:41

I'm feeling tired and nauseous at the moment. Although I find it actually helps that I have a toddler to run around after- can't dwell on it or feel sorry for myself, just have to power through! It's not a bad distraction.

Definitely agree with someone yesterday saying the had lost motivation / can't be bothered. I feel the same sometimes, especially with the tiredness. It won't last forever though and hopefully in another few weeks we'll all be feeling a bit better. I find doing something like some easy yoga makes me feel better rather than just lying on the sofa and dozing off.

TMI2000 · 30/03/2023 10:44

@flowerlover1990 I can imagine!
I had an EPU scan at 6 weeks exactly and whilst they managed to find the embryo they did say how good they were at hiding at this stage! :)

@38andtrying I am the exact same as you today. A few niggling pains in my tummy and a bit of tiredness but nothing standing out. My mum and partner are fed up of me panicking but I can't help it. I hate how mc take all the fun out of pregnancy. I can't afford another scan until the NHS one at 12 weeks.

Skyla01 · 30/03/2023 10:47

@38andtrying I'm really sorry you are struggling. Lots of us have symptoms come and go. Have you tried yoga / meditation specifically for pregnancy anxiety? There are a few folk on YouTube who specialise in that. I haven't been in your situation but I found that kind of thing very helpful when I was struggling with TTC.

38andtrying · 30/03/2023 10:54

@TMI2000 its mentally exhausting isnt it, i have niggling feeling in my tummy and still tired too, i know people say symptoms fluctuate but i dont trust my body after a missed miscarriage, my symptoms lessened the last time and i honestly didnt understand the significance until after.

I know NHS cant be taking on every headcase like me seriously lol but i feel a bit cast adrift with no real support, my husband has said just now he wants for us to go private, i wonder if that would help, expensive but may save my sanity

TMI2000 · 30/03/2023 10:59

@38andtrying It might help you to feel more supported and comforted. The NHS is under so much pressure it's making it very difficult. I will say my EPU have been so amazing with me though.
You need to do what's right for you and your little baby!

BudgetBuster · 30/03/2023 11:16

So glad your scan went well. Are you doing private scans at this early stage @flo@flowerlover1990

flowerlover1990 · 30/03/2023 11:26

@BudgetBuster thank you. I'm guessing I am maybe not as far along as I thought (I ovulated quite late in my cycle) so maybe that's why embryo couldn't be seen just yet🤞🏻It was actually a scan at my local early pregnancy unit with the NHS. I had some pain on Friday in my hip so my GP referred me. Guessing it triggered an ectopic pregnancy pathway, but thank god it wasn't and yolk/gestational sac were in the right place 😅 just want to see baby now!! How are things with you?

BudgetBuster · 30/03/2023 11:34

Oh good to see your GP is on the ball! Yes, you could always be a few days off so early, could have implanted later too. No doubt in 2 weeks there will be loads to see.

I have no symptoms at all. It's a bit scary tbh, I'm trying to keep positive that I'm actually just lucky so far. 6w1d today so they may hit me soon still.

I'm in Ireland so my scan isn't until week 13 which feels like a lifetime away so we have a private booked for next week. Hoping we can see something as we can't afford more privates unfortunately.

Travellingislife · 30/03/2023 12:37

Some of you have recommended acupuncture to help with morning sickness, I got a last minute appointment this afternoon so will give it a go, I can’t stand feeling this nauseous! I’ll let you know if it helps 😊

MrsLEM8 · 30/03/2023 12:41

Hi everyone! Hoping I can join after lurking for a couple of weeks (you have definitely helped me feel more sane in my feelings) with my fingers crossed things will work out for us all. This is our second pregnancy, currently 5+5, sadly our first ended in a mmc at six weeks at Christmas - who knew before this journey the whole process of pregnancy would be so anxious and emotional!?

Have had waves or nausea and some cramping throughout the last few weeks, although today it seems to have subsided and I had a small trace of spotting when I wiped earlier this morning so now very paranoid.

I wondered when you have had/would have an early scan? This mornings sight was a little triggering and am now wondering whether to book an early scan for early next week or if I should just wait it out as it may make the anxiety worse with an inconclusive scan.

MooseWL · 30/03/2023 13:04

@Spareincoming I really disliked my community midwife last time. She was scatty and just seemed a bit useless. We didn't ever go over birth preferences or anything and i found a lot of my appointments pointless. She plotted my bump measurements wrong on one appointment which meant i got sent for a scan (which obvs i didnt mind!), and she also sent me for a repeat blood pressure check because my BP was 80/121 (which is totally normal!) Then she went off sick for a while and i ended up seeing a different one every time which was a bit annoying. The midwives I had during labour were lovely though and I thought that was much more important!
This time my midwife is lovely and I've agreed to be a case study for the student midwife who was at my booking in appointment - which means she'll attend my scans and be at all my appointments and also when I give birth which I think is really nice for continuity of care which I never got last time!

@MrsLEM8 I think a lot of us on this thread had a bit of brown spotting around 6 weeks. It seems pretty common.

OP posts:
TAW2502 · 30/03/2023 13:10

@MrsLEM8 it's horrible, especially after a previous loss! My spotting started yesterday at 6+2, I called my EPU and they've booked me in for an early scan next Tuesday (I was already due to be going in 2 weeks time due to my previous experience but they've bought it forward) so may be worth calling yours l? I didn't ask for it, I just told them my symptoms and they booked be straight in...albeit I have to wait 6 days which is torture!

NatGee · 30/03/2023 13:11

@MooseWL thats right, I had spotting at the 6 week mark @MrsLEM8 and it got me paranoid too but i figured as long as it doesnt turn pink, then its OK. And it didn't, I'm 7+5 today and no spotting at all. The cramping I had has gone too, only the nausea remains.

Spareincoming · 30/03/2023 13:26

@MooseWL Oh that’s great for you and the student! I agreed to have the medical students in my c-section as it was likely to be a non-straightforward one; there was 5 of them! I couldn’t say no, I’m a teacher, all learning opportunities should be seized! DH found it weird at how unbothered I was!

Thank you @BudgetBuster The sonographer didn't seem worried in the slightest so I am not sure why I am 🤣 It's so easy to go into overthinking mode with it all.

Ah hopefully everything is progressing nicely for you and you're just one of the lucky ones without any sickness. Week 13 feels so far away at the moment doesn't it? A day feels like a week at the moment! Keep me posted on your private scan. They are so expensive aren't they? I doubt we will have more than 1 or 2 if we're lucky enough to keep progressing. X

Really interested to know how you get on with this @Travellingislife let us know 😊

TAW2502 · 30/03/2023 13:54

@NatGee seeing your post that your spotting/cramping has now stopped has given me a bit more hope!! ✌

NatGee · 30/03/2023 14:04

@TAW2502 I am glad it's put your mind at rest. Sorry just to clarify, I had cramping much earlier on, not when I was spotting. I had no cramping, or discomfort or pain - I'd have worried if I had those. But I felt fine, it was literally just a brown discharge when wiping. If you feel OK then chances are you're alright. Fingers crossed x

TAW2502 · 30/03/2023 14:08

Thanks @NatGee - I'm having the same spotting when wiping. I have had slight minor cramps but I had this in my last pregnancy that was 'growing' cramps apparently so hoping the same. Scan on Tuesday so will get some confirmation then xx
