Anybody struggling emotionally? I’m finding lack of energy, no motivation & tiredness really getting to me. Been gearing up to get myself outside today for a walk at least & I'm just sat here in tears! I feel so low on energy, it’s seriously draining. Really hope these feelings settle soon enough!

TMI2000 · 29/03/2023 14:09

@Froooty Wow what a massive jump and what a relief. Can't believe they could give out the wrong information considering the kind of result it is!

Mine only jumped from 308 to 2078 in just under a week so that is really impressive!
Hope you're feeling much better now

TMI2000 · 29/03/2023 14:12

@Mldn I know exactly how you feel. My motivation to do anything at the minute is 0, I turn up at work and stare at a wall all day, I get home and can't muster the energy to cook dinner or do any washing and I'm so in my head all the time about the pregnancy in general I just feel awful. Trying to power through as I feel guilty that this should be an exciting time.

JD90 · 29/03/2023 14:12

@Mldn yip I'm totally with you on the lack of motivation. I'm exhausted and distracted and until I have my placement scan next week I can't see anything changing (with the distraction at least) I've got the day off today and managed to do some washing up and put a load of washing on after school run but since that I've just been in bed. I just don't want to do anything 🙄

Mldn · 29/03/2023 14:16

@TMI2000 & @JD90 thanks for replying! God it’s horrible, I’m so emotional. It probably doesn’t help that I made the choice to quit my (pretty successful!) job not too long before learning I was pregnant. So I just feel like a bit of a waste right now, no job to busy me & zero motivation to do anything else. I’m secure enough to leave my job, that wasn’t on a whim, it was a place I needed to get out of. But everything is just hitting me & I am losing sight of any positivity. All I want to do is hibernate & stay away from people x

TMI2000 · 29/03/2023 14:18

@Mldn Me too, I wish I could quit work. I'm getting quite down about the fact that my Fiancé and I had booked everything for our wedding and set a date next year and now with me going on maternity leave, it's looking like we're not gonna be able to afford it, I had my dress and everything. I booked Annual Leave off work next week just so I could slob about.

Mldn · 29/03/2023 14:22

@TMI2000 this is the thing, I’m forgetting I’m fortunate to have be able to leave my job. It was planned out etc with my partner & we are stable enough to get by. But now I just feel so anxious about it! All I seem to do is sit here checking these forums & feeling sorry for myself! Hoping it’s just part of the ride & it’ll fade soon. The days just seem is long & uncertain right now! I know how you feel, pre-pregnancy I booked annual leave for two weeks, just to get away from the office. I’d be in a much worse position if I was there right now but god it’s lonely at home alone with all this worry! x

TMI2000 · 29/03/2023 14:24

@Mldn If it makes you feel any better I spend pretty much my whole day refreshed this thread any the pregnancy threads on mumsnet so I can see if it's been updated 😂

Mldn · 29/03/2023 14:26

@TMI2000 oh I am with you there! Forcing myself out the house now for at least an hours fresh air x

Pip1402 · 29/03/2023 14:34

You're not alone @Mldn I'm feeling very similar in terms of just wanting to hibernate and do nothing and being completely preoccupied by the pregnancy. I work from home thankfully but am finding it so difficult to muster the energy to do a lot. I've also started to care a lot less about work in general which isn't ideal given that maternity leave is still a long way off! I'm sure it's the exhaustion of the first trimester making us feel like this. Everything always feels awful when you're exhausted, pregnant or not. I hope the fresh air helps but just try to take the time to rest when you need it. Fingers crossed we'll start to feel a bit better in a few weeks.

38andtrying · 29/03/2023 14:36

Nausea has really hit me this week, i'm not vomiting but i'm off my food and just feel green around the gills, I am not complaining, it is giving me some contentment that all is going ok although i'm not naïve enough to think that this foolproof either, im so tired and lazy as well, cannot be bothered doing anything.

Hoping to get another scan at 9 weeks, the next 2 weeks are going to drag I just know it.

Is anyone here going to to NIPT if all goes ok and get to 10 weeks?

Travellingislife · 29/03/2023 14:36

@mldn he didn’t say how big it was, but yes I agree, how can something that little make us feel like this. I’m totally with you about feeling low and lethargic, I have no energy and I’m very moody. I’m not sure it’s the nausea or the fact I can’t quite believe this pregnancy will be successful but either way it sucks. I have the most energy in the mornings so I try and get things that I want to/ need to get done then, after lunch I’m pretty much useless. Roll on the second trimester and I hope it brings more energy!

Travellingislife · 29/03/2023 14:39

@38andtrying I’m super nauseous and it’s exhausting, eating helps but I can’t eat all the time!
I’ll do the Harmony test when I’m 11 weeks, apparently it’s less risk of getting an inconclusive results if you wait until 11 weeks. At 10 weeks it might not be enough fetal DNA in the sample.

38andtrying · 29/03/2023 14:41

@Travellingislife that's a good tip I will wait until 11 too, pray God I get there 🙏

Mldn · 29/03/2023 14:45

@Pip1402 & @Travellingislife thanks for replying. It’s nice to know we aren’t alone. But it’s pretty rubbish. Fingers crossed not too much longer left until 2nd trimester & things feel a bit better - mainly just less worrying which I’m sure will help with the mood! Currently on a walk.. ready to turn back round & go to bed! x

flowerlover1990 · 29/03/2023 15:21

Hi everyone 👋🏻 Been reading this chat for the last few weeks so thought I'd say hello properly. So comforting to read we are all going through the same thing. I have my first scan tomorrow at 6+3 to check everything is progressing and in the right place etc. This is our first pregnancy.

Really struggling with dry retching and nausea all day. I work from home which I am so grateful for... but have been trying to avoid going to in the office for meetings for now, keep making excuses lol. Will probably tell my manager around 8/9 weeks if everything goes ok. I'm so exhausted and missing being active / in the gym too. Hoping to get back to some exercising once this first trimester is out the way. Anyone have any tips for getting through the retching and nausea? I've tried ginger, sniffing lemons lol, peppermint tea, hard boiled sour sweet and acupressure bands and nothing is helping! X

BudgetBuster · 29/03/2023 15:50

Has anyone had dodgy clear blue weeks indicators? I'm 6w today, and the clear blue has never moved from 1-2 weeks. Had 2 losses at 5 weeks previously. I don't have symptoms other than fatigue really. Have a scan booked for next Monday but getting a bit worried that my HCG might not be rising?

DollyGx · 29/03/2023 16:44

Someone recommended acupuncture for nausea recently. I’d been having acupuncture anyway since the start of the year to help with TTC and I’d continued to have it every other week in the first trimester as recommended by the lady that does it. I’d started to feel a bit rubbish recently and the nausea had started to kick in. I went for a half hour acupuncture session last night and had the best nights sleep last night that I’ve had in months and also today I’ve had zero nausea and overall feel a million times better, defo give it a try if you’re suffering ladies!

NatGee · 29/03/2023 17:27

@DollyGx thanks for the tip, I did read that earlier too. Do you go to a normal acupuncturist or one that specialises in pregnancy?

@38andtrying will definitely go for a NIPT when the time comes. I will ask for it at my booking appointment, hopefully they'll agree

Spareincoming · 29/03/2023 17:28

@flowerlover1990 I've given up trying to find anything that works and been prescribed something from my GP. It’s helping and I’m less nauseous and hope it keeps working as the dry retching was really bad and frightening my dc.

DollyGx · 29/03/2023 17:42

@NatGee the lady I see does specialise in fertility/pregnancy, I’m not sure if a normal one could also help though? Worth asking. Just to add, my nausea really wasn’t awful, just a bit yucky and annoying but I’d never actually thrown up. Not sure if it would work for someone with severe morning sickness, but anything is worth a try when you’re feeling that grim!

@DollyGx this sounds amazing. Thank you so much for recommending this. Did you see someone who specialises in pregnancy acupuncture specifically? I'm willing to try anything lol x

flowerlover1990 · 29/03/2023 17:49

@DollyGx sorry just seen you've answered this! Thank you again 😊

flowerlover1990 · 29/03/2023 17:50

@Spareincoming it's awful isn't it. I can literally be doing anything around the house and the retching starts. Today I even bent down to get dressed and it started?! I may consider speaking to my GP if the acupuncture doesn't work. Thank you x

NatGee · 29/03/2023 17:53

@DollyGx i'm the same - no actual bringing food up but I just feel generally queasy, some days worse than others but the nausea is always there. Ive been taking the approach of eating often, and dont always make the best choices, or sucking on boiled sweets/mints which I don't think is great. I've reached out to a clinic nearby and they do fertility/pregnancy acupuncture so I think ill be in good hands :) how many weeks are you now?
