@Pip1402 yeah I’ll do the one with a scan as well, it’s called the Harmony test. It’s expensive, £500 but I feel like I need to do it.
Sucking on strong mints actually works, I don’t feel as nauseous, thank you!

@Mldn Aww no, sorry to hear your symptoms came back, it’s so debilitating. Hopefully we start to feel better soon.
I think I’m due the 6/11 so very close! I bet it’ll change on the 12 week scan though.

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 28/03/2023 19:16

Hi Ladies, 6+4 today but getting worried as I haven't been as nauseous yesterday and today as I was before- anyone else having this?

Anxiously waiting on my 8 week scan in 10 days!

medicmumma · 28/03/2023 19:30

Anyone told their work yet and what was their response?

Been feeling awful for almost 2 weeks due to nausea/sickness/dizziness and I work in A&E and the environment/awful rota just makes it so much more worse. Emailed my manager over a week ago and no response - and she’s got my email as she’s replied to other work related ones in the meantime.

No wonder everyone is leaving the NHS!

NatGee · 28/03/2023 19:44

@medicmumma did you email telling your manager youre pregnant and you had no response? That is shocking. Can you try and sit down with her just to make sure she understood what youre saying and what is she doing about it? I wouldnt be happy with being left hanging

I felt quite sick last week, and the nausea returned today so id been psyching myself into telling my manager at my appraisal today but when it came to it, something in my gut told me not to and stopped myself. At 7+3 it just feels too early. Even though everything feels fine, I just don't want to tell work before Ive even told my family. Ill just have to lay low until the 12 weeks come round

NatGee · 28/03/2023 19:46

@Chellooo oh, I really wasnt meaning on bragging, at all, simply sharing what has been working for me and of course I understand that some have much more severe symptoms than others. Thankfully I've been managing to keep food down so Im sure that has helped. I just hope it doesn't get worse, I dont like eating all the time and I'm not making the best choices. Just scoffed a burger king which i feel guilty about but my tummy just feels soooo much better for it. how have you been feeling these last few days ? x

NatGee · 28/03/2023 19:49

@ExcitedandNervousC1 yeah, I know what you mean. On the days I felt better I just went and did a pregnancy test ha. I think we need to accept some will just be worse than others and it doesnt mean anything is wrong

NatGee · 28/03/2023 19:50

@Mldn congratulations, that is a lovely looking picture :) hope you are reassured all is well and you can enjoy the next few weeks until week 12 rolls round

Mldn · 28/03/2023 19:52

@Travellingislife yeh I imagine it will! Did they say how big your measured mine was like 14.3mm. So teeny I cannot even imagine it!! How can something so small make us feel so unwell 😂

@NatGee thank you so much! Yes, 12 weeks slowly creeping over the horizon now. Hope you’re doing well x

NatGee · 28/03/2023 19:55

@HayleyD93 @Lurknessmomstar @JJ2023 thank you for the recommendations, much appreciated xxx

MooseWL · 28/03/2023 20:09

@Psqueak87 I was the same in my last pregnancy - I wasn't strictly vegetarian but we didn't cook meat or fish in the house. I was craving burgers and chicken! I kept saying "I can't grow a human on vegetables alone" 🤣 - which is ridiculous of course it's possible.

@medicmumma i work in the NHS too and thankfully my manager has been amazing but she is very new and I have had awful morning sickness - checked the policy and they HAVE to change the shifts to suit you whilst you get over it. I asked to be referred to occupational health (you can do this yourself too) and they were amazing. Hope that helps, don’t just suffer through x

Psqueak87 · 28/03/2023 22:57

@MooseWL ok thanks I’m glad I’m not the only one. Right now I think I’ll stay strong, it’s been so long since I ate any meat that I think it might even make me sicker if I do.

@medicmumma not told work yet and I’m 8+3, I also do awful shift work. I just had 3 midnight (6-6) shifts and now I have a mid day shift, then a morning shift and then straight back for another midnight. I haven’t slept a solid sleep in a week, just small naps. All the managers at work are male, which is making it harder to say anything, but I’m going to have to mention it soon as I’m so nauseous.

@TMI2000 I am also quite overweight and I did a lot of reading, and have come to the conclusion that provided I am sensible about it, losing a bit of weight is fine. I'm only walking on a treadmill and behaving with my meals. I take my pregnancy vitamins, plus extra vit D, calcium, C and 5mg of folic acid. Right now I feel good and I am listening to my body. I'm also relatively old, and really keen to do my absolute best to avoid a c-section, so I have to get myself into shape for baby's sake. xx

TMI2000 · 29/03/2023 08:12

@Froooty thank you! I am only 22 but definitely overweight! I'm only 6 weeks but I want to do everything I can to have a healthy pregnancy and then be a healthy mum at the end of it!
I just struggle as my partner is so picky with what he eats we end up eating a lot of the same whereas if I was just cooking for myself it would be so much easier to be healthy! I'm starting the gym this month so hopefully I can get some light exercise in.

Houseonthehills · 29/03/2023 11:13

Had my scan and crazily enough there was a heartbeat. It was dated 5.6 when I am 6.1/2 so one or two days behind. Can’t find a cause for the bleeding.

Not out of the woods but in a better place then I thought we were yesterday, symptoms aren’t still gone.

The CRL measured small at only 2.6mm and not sure if this is a sign of miscarriage or not progressing the way it should be can only
hope for good things.

Houseonthehills · 29/03/2023 11:15

Apparently slimming world is a nhs approved diet/ food plan for pregnancy. They have extra points system for pregnancy and breastfeeding.

38andtrying · 29/03/2023 11:16

@Houseonthehills that is great news, i hope things keep progressing for you, will you go another scan in a couple of weeks?

Houseonthehills · 29/03/2023 11:19

Thank you. No they have just said to keep an eye on everything but she thinks it’s old
blood. If bleeding again I will have to pop back to GP

Froooty · 29/03/2023 11:49

Hi all. Just had a blood test yesterday (5w2d) and my hcg is only 797. It was 351 eight days before, so it really looks like little bean isn't going to make it. Gutted. I can't even register with a midwife until I get to six weeks. Pretty depressed right now.

TAW2502 · 29/03/2023 11:50

@Houseonthehills that's great news, I hope things continue to go well for you.

Just a quick question - what was your spotting like? I woke up this morning to some and am very concerned - just spoken to my EPU and they've booked me in for a scan next Tuesday but it seems like such a long wait!! The spotting seems to have eased as the days gone on and I am still feeling very nauseous...

Mine was brown discharge and had some red streaks. It’s how my previous MC started so was concerned especially due to the lack of symptoms. My sister had bleeds all
throughout her pregnancy and was fine, it was with the lack of symptoms I was sure there was nothing there and was MC. I had already been booked for This scan last week due to left side pains, had to wait a week for the app xx

TMI2000 · 29/03/2023 12:14

@Froooty I am so sorry to hear this! Did they test your progesterone as well?

Froooty · 29/03/2023 12:19

@TMI2000 they did, it's 49, which is apparently very good. I'm waiting to hear back from the fertility clinic and hopefully also the midwife service.

Furious but also very relieved right now. I called to make another blood test appointment because the midwives still won't see me. Turns out my hcg is not 797, it's 7971.

I forgot my own phone number and just started crying. Crisis is averted... for now.

LilmissCa · 29/03/2023 13:34

@Froooty wow what a morning for you. What a good job you called!! Such a relief
