Good luck for your scan @Mldn

BabyBabyBaby123 · 27/03/2023 12:58

Hi 👋🏻 I have been reading this thread since the beginning, but haven’t got round to posting yet.

I am about 6 weeks 4 days pregnant with baby #3.

Feeling quite sick and super tired, but feel like my nausea is less than with DD#2 (didn’t have any at all with DD#1)

I visited the EPU Friday due to very slight brown spotting on Thursday evening, which thankfully I haven’t seen anymore of. They were great, but have asked for me to return in 2 weeks-ish to make sure everything is still growing as it should be.
We saw a tiny little blob with a flickering heartbeat.

Due to my visit to EPU, more people in work know than I feel comfortable about at such an early time, but there isn’t anything I can do about that now, as I had to leave work sharpish Friday morning when EPU told me to come in right away and I didn’t return as they booked me a scan in the afternoon.

I have a private scan booked for Saturday afternoon, which I think I am still going to go to, as I would like to be able to tell my in laws when I see them over Easter.

I am feeling much less chilled this pregnancy than my last, but maybe because this was a surprise, where DD#2 took OPKs and BBT tracking etc.

SnookyPook · 27/03/2023 13:22

@TMI2000 thanks - I gave in! Wasn't worth not doing!

Welcome to the newest newbies. Good to have you here 😊

LittleBeanie · 27/03/2023 13:38

@TMI2000 oh I hope the scan goes well tomorrow! Sorry to hear you also had a miscarriage in February. Sounds like you are the same as me in that you fell pregnant again straight away so can’t be 100% sure of dates? Keeping everything crossed for you that the scan provides some reassurance!

TMI2000 · 27/03/2023 13:43

@SnookyPook Oh good! I sometimes have to just sit staring at a wall at work with my brain switched off, feels like an awake nap 😅glad I'm in the office alone with no one to see me acting like a loon!

@LittleBeanie Thank you! My fingers are so crossed. Yes, exactly the same! I mc on the 5th Feb, bled for a week and didn't get my AF 6 weeks later so did a test and voila! But my midwives, EPU and GP can't seem to agree on how far along I could be so hopefully tomorrow will help that!

Mldn · 27/03/2023 14:48

Thanks for the well wishes! Scan all good - baby measuring 8w1d & healthy heartbeat. My EPU were so friendly & reassuring. I had an abdominal scan which was much more pleasant that the vaginal one I had privately a few weeks back. She said the tenderness I’m feeling is likely due to a cyst on the ovary I ovulated from. But no dramas! Hoping I can now relax & try to enjoy my pregnancy whilst relatively symptom free. All I feel is extreme tiredness. Scan not the clearest - but almost resembling a baby now x

@Mldn congratulations that's a lovely picture! Glad you're feeling better too!

Ahhh cute @Mldn glad all is well and yes hopefully you will feel reassured now, I wonder if your sickness will return or if you're just lucky to have had it been and gone. Isn't it funny that there's not much to look at yet I bet you spend ages gazing at that little bean in there 🥰 such a miracle x

Skyla01 · 27/03/2023 15:09

Fab news @Mldn

Here's hoping we'll all be having happy scans over the next month or two and can relax a bit.

EBeans · 27/03/2023 15:10

What a lovely scan @Mldn ☺️ so glad everything is ok! Not long to go now until the 12 week scan and chance to see the little one again.

Pip1402 · 27/03/2023 15:15

That's great news @Mldn so pleased it's all gone well!

38andtrying · 27/03/2023 15:25

Amazing news @Mldn and also reassures me given you don't have many symptoms. Roll on 12 weeks for you now x

Mldn · 27/03/2023 15:37

Thank you all so much! Yes @38andtrying I am glad you can feel reassured from this too. Embrace the lack of vomit & nausea whilst we can. When I had it, it was vile so I’m hoping I’m lucky & it’s now subsided 🤞🏼 if not, I’ve had an easier week or so with no symptoms! Just lots of sleep x

SnookyPook · 27/03/2023 15:43

@Mldn hooray! So glad 😊

Mrsrobinsonx · 27/03/2023 15:57

@LittleBeanie
Hi! I am about 6+2 so we are pretty close, my journey has been similar to yours. I had a miscarriage in November and February (although both around 5 weeks) but this pregnancy feels different, actually having proper symptoms this time.
I haven’t been prescribed anything but I have a scan on Friday, I’m so so anxious about every little thing. I had a small amount of pink/brown when I wiped yesterday and some aches in my back & belly today so I’m obviously fearing the worst but hopefully all is ok. I hope your scan goes well! ❤️

Mrsrobinsonx · 27/03/2023 16:01

@Mldn So glad it went well!
I didn’t know they gave pictures for early scans, with my last pregnancy I didn’t get one but hopefully if all is well I can ask for one this time? want to show my daughters when the time is right x

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 27/03/2023 16:02

@Mldn delighted it went well for you! Such a huge relief!!

Mldn · 27/03/2023 16:08

@Mrsrobinsonx thank you! I wasn’t even expecting them to offer to scan me, so I pic was defo a bonus! I didn’t ask, she just printed it out for me & gave me a report too. She was really great, let us watch it wriggle around on the screen for a short while & see the heart beating fast for reassurance! x

Thanks everybody for such kind messages. Really glad there’s a supportive, friendly community here!

I felt bad going to the EPU & using NHS resources when I wasn’t bleeding or cramping - but it was offered & they were really great x

Travellingislife · 27/03/2023 16:29

@Mldn ah great news, what a huge relief for you! I’ve got a private scan tomorrow and hoping I get good news as well, quite anxious about it.

BabyBabyBaby123 · 27/03/2023 16:54

I got a picture at my EPU scan too, but you can’t really tell what anything is 🙈
I’m hoping baby will be easier to see on Saturday, even though I’ll only be 7+2 compared to 6+1 … I had a scan at 7+4(ish) with DD#2 and got a good pic, so I’m hoping the 2 days don’t make much difference!

Sb86 · 27/03/2023 17:51

I got a print from my scan in September at just before 6 weeks and I'm so glad because that's all I have of that baby. They also gave me a print of this baby, could see more but not much, it's still lovely to have it 🥰

Houseonthehills · 27/03/2023 18:02

That’s brilliant news I love your little scan photo xx

Runnergirl1 · 27/03/2023 18:14

@Mldn lovely scan. Glad everything was ok. I have an early scan on Wednesday due to having no symptoms and having a mmc before my little girl x

Mldn · 27/03/2023 18:19

@Runnergirl1 thank you - so sorry for your previous loss! Fingers crossed for Wednesday. Let us know how you get on! I’m speculating due to your name.. are you a runner? If so, have you been able to keep it up? I’m a runner, was up to 40 odd miles before pregnancy & training for London but have had to withdraw cos I literally cannot run anything like normal. I did a half marathon a couple days after I found out I was pregnant & I was aiming for 1hr35ish.. it took me 2.15 😂 Completely shocked by how my fitness has gone x

Runnergirl1 · 27/03/2023 18:50

@Mldn Ive found it extremely difficult. I stopped this time as soon as I found out I was pregnant as last time I tried when I was pregnant with little girl it floored me and I couldn’t function properly. I don’t know how people keep going. Amazing time you where going for though x
