Hi everyone, I know this is might be a bit early to start a thread but after more than 2 1/2 years of trying the overwhelming excitement is real!

Me and my husband lost out first at 10 weeks back in December 2020 and to be honest had kind of given up. I only peed on a stick at 16DPO because a banana repulsed me to the point of spitting it out! Trying not to be too excited or paranoid, but we'll see how that goes. 🤣

I've ordered the Pregnancy after Loss book by Zoe Coates Clark in an attempt to keep my sanity, but the going to the loo fear of seeing blood is real. And I've booked an apt to talk to my GP on Thursday at 5+3 to talk about whether or not progesterone would be appropriate.

Thankfully my husband is level headed and reminds me not to get too ahead of myself yet, but it would be great to meet others in the same boat for a hand hold.

Hey everyone, good news, had my scan today. Saw a little heartbeat and measuring 6w1d which is bang on my dates (luckily I ovulated on CD14). No explanation for the bleeding, going to try and get prescribed progesterone ASAP. It's eased up to very light brown spotting now.

Very relieved but won't get my hopes up too high until we get past the 8w mark where we lost the last one.

calipoppy · 12/09/2022 18:17

@Melusina123 that's great, what a relief! I'm so pleased for you, it just goes to show that it really is true you can bleed but everything can be fine x

MrsF111 · 12/09/2022 18:40

Hi everyone, can I join? I’m currently 4+1 and feel like I have forever to go!! Due in may, I’m going to book an early scan at 7 weeks, I’ve had 2 mmc in the last 2 years, trying for our first baby. Feeling the same as everyone on here, so much anxiety, but So incredibly grateful to be pregnant again but I really wish I could just be put to sleep for the next couple of months!!

Singingloudforalltohear · 12/09/2022 19:06

@Melusina123 thats great news, so pleased for you!

Melusina123 · 12/09/2022 20:39

@calipoppy @Singingloudforalltohear thank you both! It's so difficult to be optimistic about anything, but at least I'm considering it a milestone. :)

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 13/09/2022 01:46

Hello all, I'm awake and feeling crap - achey and warm through body, with some one sided abdominal pains. A bit concerned about ectopic, about miscarriage, but also feeling it might just be trapped wind as I haven't been doing a lot of passing wind... It's not hugely painful just uncomfortable but causing 1) anxiety and 2) lack of sleep! I'm thinking I might call EPAS tomorrow morning?

Essexgalhere · 13/09/2022 09:38

I stupidly took a pregnancy test this morning (I’m about 5 days + 3) and it was very very dark (still a dye stealers) but not any darker than it was 5 days ago. Actually looked the tiniest bit lighter. Not sure why I did it to myself. Now I’m panicking

Melusina123 · 13/09/2022 10:27

@Essexgalhere FWIW I'm pretty sure that HPTs get to the point where they can't get darker?

somethingluscious · 13/09/2022 10:59

@Essexgalhere I read into this and the hcg results can become overwhelmed by the type of hcg further on. My hcg was up at 15000 and I was still getting faint positives. It's called the hook effect. The test gets overwhelmed with all the beta fragments, which interferes with test’s ability to find intact hCG. The only way to know is with a blood test to check beta hcg levels quantitatively and then you are looking at the doublling rate.

calipoppy · 13/09/2022 11:54

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl how far along are you? I would just call EPU they should hopefully give you an early scan to rule out ectopic, I had one last week and it was such a relief to check it and make sure everything was ok.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 13/09/2022 11:56

Thanks for reply @calipoppy - I feel much better now and had lots of gastro issues overnight so I wonder if it was stomach rather than reproductive organs!

I'm only 4-5 weeks so I don't think EPU would see me yet?

calipoppy · 13/09/2022 13:09

They all seem to be so different, mine are great but I don't think I've ever gone before 6 weeks so not sure what their cut off is. I've seen such a variety of experiences on here though it seems like the luck of the draw! Glad your pains have settled anyway.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 13/09/2022 14:03

@calipoppy I am still worried as still experiencing quite a bit of crampy feelings across abdomen - so hard to say what is normal, what is implantation, what is gastric distress, what could be miscarriage etc!

Singingloudforalltohear · 13/09/2022 16:29

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl I've had lots of little cramps but they've felt a bit more intense today. No bleeding but didn't have any with my MMC of course.

Had severe cramps around 5+6 last time when things stopped developing but I was really constipated and spoke to the GP who put it down to that. When I had my scan just after 7 weeks that's when I realised the cramps probably related to that.

Cramps this time aren't as severe as that but feel a bit like period cramps. Have also been a bit windy/constipated so might relate to that. Have a scan on Sat at 6+1 so will just hold out for then.

Anyone else have really smelly farts? My poor husband is being suffocated!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 13/09/2022 16:32

@Singingloudforalltohear I'm the same - I did not have any of these cramps last pregnancy but last pregnancy was a MMC so that's not necessarily a good thing to not have them 🤷‍♀️. I'm worried about ectopic especially because I was on norethisterone when I conceived

Melusina123 · 13/09/2022 16:49

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl @Singingloudforalltohear I've heard that bleeding only or cramps only aren't necessarily too concerning; it's when you get both.

Of course the existence of MMCs means such things aren't necessarily reassuring, but at least it means you don't need to be too much more concerned. And if course some people have bleeding+ cramps and everything is fine. It's just all so difficult to know really.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 13/09/2022 16:51

Totally agree @Melusina123 - that's why it's so bloody scary after loss, all of these symptoms could be worrying or could be good or could be nothing at all!

BellaBella38 · 13/09/2022 17:17

I have some good news to share 😁
So hurdle one down, early pregnancy unit scan went well! One baby, the right size, in the right place, and the heartbeat was mega! I cried so much.

That's great news @BellaBella38 so happy for you! ❤️❤️❤️

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 13/09/2022 17:40

Congratulations @BellaBella38 ! How many weeks?

BellaBella38 · 13/09/2022 17:45

Thank you guys, I'm 8 weeks.
2 more weeks until the worst milestone. But today I am pregnant. 😁

Singingloudforalltohear · 13/09/2022 17:51

@BellaBella38 that's great news, congratulations! How exciting!

Singingloudforalltohear · 13/09/2022 17:55

@Melusina123 I think that's usually the case. I'm paranoid because I had very sever cramps without bleeding on the days around when things stopped developing in my MMC. The EPU told me it was probably the constipation but my husband said I looked like I was in labour having contractions!

They've settled down a bit and I've got some wind out which helped!

BellaBella38 · 13/09/2022 18:49

@Singingloudforalltohear Have you tried peppermint tea for your wind?

OP posts:
IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 13/09/2022 18:59

@Singingloudforalltohear @BellaBella38 I am about to have my 3rd peppermint tea today 🤣
