Hi everyone, I know this is might be a bit early to start a thread but after more than 2 1/2 years of trying the overwhelming excitement is real!

Me and my husband lost out first at 10 weeks back in December 2020 and to be honest had kind of given up. I only peed on a stick at 16DPO because a banana repulsed me to the point of spitting it out! Trying not to be too excited or paranoid, but we'll see how that goes. 🤣

I've ordered the Pregnancy after Loss book by Zoe Coates Clark in an attempt to keep my sanity, but the going to the loo fear of seeing blood is real. And I've booked an apt to talk to my GP on Thursday at 5+3 to talk about whether or not progesterone would be appropriate.

Thankfully my husband is level headed and reminds me not to get too ahead of myself yet, but it would be great to meet others in the same boat for a hand hold.

We're having a boy!!! I'm so shocked - no idea why I'm shocked but I am! Maybe because I had a girl before.

Baby is fine. Just want these NIPT results back now to confirm all is ok x

MRSDoos · 29/11/2022 15:22

@Janefx40 wow! Amazing news

hopefully they come back soon x

Janefx40 · 29/11/2022 15:38

Btw the doctor said the nub theory we tried with the 12 week scan is accurate but the pictures we have don't always have the nub on so we're often not checking the right bit when we use scan photos x

Blue2020 · 29/11/2022 15:38

@Janefx40 thats exciting, great news about the scan and finding out it’s a boy.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 29/11/2022 15:52

Brilliant news @Janefx40 - time to start thinking up some names...

ratherbthedevil · 29/11/2022 16:27

My NIPT came back low risk. I just can't believe it!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 29/11/2022 16:33

Woohoo @ratherbthedevil !!!

MRSDoos · 29/11/2022 16:36

@ratherbthedevil wonderful news!! x

ratherbthedevil · 29/11/2022 16:41

I can't believe it! We have a fetal heart scan next and then maybe we can start to relax (but probably not)

Blue2020 · 29/11/2022 16:55

@ratherbthedevil thats great!

Janefx40 · 29/11/2022 20:38

@ratherbthedevil that's amazing news! Hooray!!! And the results seem to have come back quite quickly too. So pleased for you.

Ours finally came through and all fine too x

ratherbthedevil · 29/11/2022 21:18

Yes they did, I was so surprised. Although now I'm wondering if they got mixed up with someone else's 🙄

So glad yours came back fine too! Did I read you are expecting a boy?

MO22 · 29/11/2022 21:57

@ratherbthedevil ahhh what wonderful news! So happy for you.

And you too @Janefx40 congrats!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 30/11/2022 07:30

Hard night last night. Couldn't sleep and just kept thinking what it the baby isn't alive anymore, if their heart stopped, my tummy doesn't feel different at all etc etc. Then felt bad for thinking all that about my baby in case that could hurt them 🙈. Next scan tomorrow night

Janefx40 · 30/11/2022 07:35

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl I'm sorry you had a bad night. How many weeks are you now?

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 30/11/2022 07:38

@Janefx40 15+6, so should be 16 at scan tomorrow. Time is absolutely crawling past. I am also awful at my job at the moment - no concentration on anything but this.

ratherbthedevil · 30/11/2022 08:58

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl I hear you. I'm so behind with my work at the moment because it's so hard to concentrate. I hope the scan goes well tomorrow

Anoushka1986 · 30/11/2022 09:51

@Janefx40 so exciting!

Blue2020 · 30/11/2022 10:00

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl im thinking exactly the same. I’m not sure how to stop. I keep thinking should we really be telling friends, because I don’t feel pregnant and I don’t know if it’s still going on. I thought after the 12 week scan I would have a better outlook. Now I just have similar thoughts about the 20week scan in three weeks time.

MRSDoos · 30/11/2022 10:04

@Blue2020 I told myself I’d feel better after 12 weeks, then at 14 weeks, then after my 16 week gender scan, and I’m still just as worried about my 20 week scan coming up in 3 weeks today.

I’m not sure when I’ll stop worrying. If I ever will stop.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 01/12/2022 13:54

All well at 16wk - low risk for trisomies and got to hear the heartbeat!

Melusina123 · 01/12/2022 16:19

@MRSDoos I've pre-warned my partner that if we make it through to 24wks I'm planning on transitioning instantly from worrying about a missed MC to worrying about foetal movements. 🤷‍♀️

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl great news! Another milestone. :)

MRSDoos · 02/12/2022 07:31

Is anyone else struggling a bit leading up to Christmas? Yesterday I cried a lot thinking how it should be our twins first Christmas. I feel a bit guilty as I’m also looking forward to telling our friends and family the gender of our little boy and the festive period with my bump. Such a conflict of emotions.

My midwife listened to his heartbeat literally on Monday but I am constantly worried about our 20 week scan which is days before Christmas.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 02/12/2022 07:35

@MRSDoos absolutely hear you about the 20 wk scan - mine is 22nd Dec so just really hoping it lets me feel more safe over the Xmas days.

I told a bunch more people yesterday and now feeling a bit 🫣

MRSDoos · 02/12/2022 08:44

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl mine is 21st and I’m paranoid about bad news
I’m hoping I get a bit more movement over the next couple weeks so I can relax about the heartbeat on the scan

Telling people does make it feel very real
