Hi everyone, I know this is might be a bit early to start a thread but after more than 2 1/2 years of trying the overwhelming excitement is real!

Me and my husband lost out first at 10 weeks back in December 2020 and to be honest had kind of given up. I only peed on a stick at 16DPO because a banana repulsed me to the point of spitting it out! Trying not to be too excited or paranoid, but we'll see how that goes. 🤣

I've ordered the Pregnancy after Loss book by Zoe Coates Clark in an attempt to keep my sanity, but the going to the loo fear of seeing blood is real. And I've booked an apt to talk to my GP on Thursday at 5+3 to talk about whether or not progesterone would be appropriate.

Thankfully my husband is level headed and reminds me not to get too ahead of myself yet, but it would be great to meet others in the same boat for a hand hold.

Ok ignore that last message. I looked in my diary and had headaches at a similar time with my DD so fingers crossed it doesn't mean anything worrying x

Essexgalhere · 12/10/2022 09:41

@Janefx40 Yes I get them sometimes xx

Essexgalhere · 12/10/2022 09:58

I’m struggling with feeling overwhelmed today. I changed jobs, moved in with partner, got engaged, got pregnant, lost pregnancy, got married and now pregnant again all within just over a year.
Anyone else feel completely overwhelmed?

Melusina123 · 12/10/2022 10:15

@Essexgalhere I'm not surprised you're feeling overwhelmed - that is a lot to experience in a short time! Can you take it easy today? Do some mindfulness or yoga or something just to give your brain a bit of a break?

I don't think overwhelmed really describes me, I'm more out the other side of overwhelmed and I just have no mental energy for anything except just getting through the day.

I'm definitely going to start going to pregnancy yoga eventually, but I feel like I'm in this weird zone where I'm not ready for pg yoga but I also don't feel right doing regular yoga so I'm just a bit trapped not doing anything!

Charl881 · 12/10/2022 11:00

@Janefx40 yep definitely suffering headaches here as well. I think it’s all hormonal, I remember them with my DS as well. Hoping they pass soon.

MO22 · 12/10/2022 13:03

@Janefx40 I woke up with a headache at 4am which didn't go away with my usual tricks - I usually get headaches before a period too, and I'm coming up to 8 weeks...

I stupidly went to work and have been really terribly sick 3 times! Very odd, I've only had a small bit of nausea so far (barely any last pregnancy) so I'm a bit surprised and wondering if this is morning sickness or a bug?!

Headache is a common symptom on NHS (I check this a lot to reassure me as I am still getting light brown discharge every now and then which freaks me out but I can't keep going to the EPU every time!) so try not to worry (empty words there sadly!).

Thank you all so much! It really helps. I've found yesterday and today really hard as the point when the heartbeat stopped last time. I can see from my diary that I had headaches last time but it still worried me. I also had this strange leg ache today that I had when I miscarried last time but that was related to a condition I had at the time that I don't have now so there's no reason it should mean anything. I've just lost it a bit basically.

I've convinced myself that the pregnancy has gone although there's no logical reason why it should end on the same day even if I do miscarry. It's hard to focus on anything else because all I'm thinking is "what am I feeling... am I still pregnant... please still be pregnant"

Janefx40 · 13/10/2022 00:00

@Essexgalhere I'm not surprised you are overwhelmed. That's a lot for anyone. Just be nice to yourself and let yourself feel whatever you feel. Xxx

@Melusina123 sorry you feel mentally drained. I can empathise. It's just a question of getting through each day.

Does anyone else feel like time has slowed down? I can't believe it's only 4.5 weeks since that pregnancy test. It feels like years!!!

HoneyPea · 13/10/2022 08:09

Scan yesterday was horrible, I should have been 7+4 but they have measured baby around 6 weeks with no heartbeat. Got to go back next week to see if it has grown or if it's a missed miscarriage 😞 Not feeling very confident as I got my positive test over 4 weeks ago so should definitely be further along.

Essexgalhere · 13/10/2022 09:06

@HoneyPea I’m so sorry to hear your scan didn’t go well yesterday 💔

I know this week waiting in limbo is going to be extremely hard and we are here for you if you need to talk to anyone

Anoushka1986 · 13/10/2022 09:20

@HoneyPea so sorry. I know how hard the waiting can be.

Anoushka1986 · 13/10/2022 09:58

Wondering if any of you are starting to show yet?

Melusina123 · 13/10/2022 12:26

@HoneyPea oh, no, I'm so sorry to hear this. Lots of us on this thread know how awful a scan without a heartbeat is, and the waiting between scans is awful. Look after yourself. I'll have all my fingers and toes cross for you.

@Janefx40 sorry to hear you're feeling this way. I go through waves of pessimism vs acceptance. Not ever really optimism, though! If it helps, as far as I can tell from the internet, only about 1/5 of MCs are MMCs, so odds-wise, if things had gone wrong you would most likely know about it. Pregnant until proven otherwise, right? 🤞

@Anoushka1986 I can see where a bump is starting, but only because I am quite familiar with what my lower abdomen looks like, so I can see where things are starting to round out between my hipbones. Nobody else would be able to tell yet - except if the bloating a bit higher up gave it away. 😂

Essexgalhere · 13/10/2022 12:31

@Anoushka1986 I definitely have something there. Especially in the evenings, which is mainly bloat I am guessing. I’m 10 weeks 1 day today. I can’t fit in my jeans and haven’t for a couple of weeks, my clothes are tighter than usual

Janefx40 · 13/10/2022 19:55

@HoneyPea I'm so sorry about the scan. It's such an awful wait. Sending you lots of love xxx

Mrs173 · 13/10/2022 21:00

@HoneyPea I’m so so sorry to read this. Having been in that awful limbo twice I really really have everything crossed for you. Be kind to yourself this week and I really hope you get better news next week 💫

Sera123 · 14/10/2022 18:13

@HoneyPea So sorry to hear, fingers crossed for you. x

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 14/10/2022 18:22

How is everyone doing? I am tired, sore in the boobs and of course anxious AF. For some reason my fertility clinic has decided I should take cyclogest but only until 12 weeks so ... For 3 weeks?! They've known I was pregnant since the start so not clear why they've only decided this now (not taken any bloods so no worries about low progesterone).

MO22 · 14/10/2022 18:31

I'm so-so. I've googled yellow discharge in pregnancy so many times I've completed the internet.

I've got my booking apt on Monday so I guess I'll ask the midwife then. But I've got sore boobs and been nauseous most of today...

It's hard having had a MMC because I just constantly worry that something has happened again and my body hasn't caught up.

But, my 12 week scan is in four weeks...

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl did they say why now? That feels arbitrary if they havent done bloods?!

Melusina123 · 14/10/2022 18:37

I'm ok. Going through more of a "what will be will be" phase rather than outright pessimism. 12w scan is a week Monday so that feels very soon. I don't think I'll relax until 20w, if even then, but 12w is a big milestone, if the scan goes well.

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl I got cyclogest after bleeding at 6w but they didn't actually tell me how long to take it! NICE guidelines are til 16w so that's what I'm doing. Have you asked your clinic what their thinking is?

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 14/10/2022 18:41

@MO22 @Melusina123 they prescribe it to anyone who has had a loss before and basically the nurses didn't think of it but the consultant has now at 9 weeks 🙄

I agree that after MMC it feels so unsafe. Like, no bleeding or anything but what does that even mean to me when last time I didn't have any either. Scan looked good but all it means is it was good then. I agree 20 weeks would be when I'd start to feel better I think

Melusina123 · 14/10/2022 18:48

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl I meant their thinking in prescribing it until 12w not for longer. Overall it really seems like such an under-researched area though - every doctor does things differently based on their own experience/beliefs...

Janefx40 · 14/10/2022 19:18

Hi everyone. I had a hard day but slightly better this evening. I woke up feeling really "well" no nausea and my bloated tummy had gone back to normal so became totally convinced the pregnancy was over. But this evening I'm a bit nauseous again and have my metallic taste back so just hoping. I'm on tons of progesterone so not going to bleed either way.

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl My IVF clinic said originally I'd be on progesterone until 10 weeks but then today they said they taper you off until 12 weeks. So at 10 weeks I could taper the injectible progesterone down but if I wanted to keep taking it until 13 weeks then I could. I also drop from 3 to 1 cyclogest per day. I'm also with a consultant in reproductive immunology who will keep me on 2 cyclogest until 16 weeks.

I have my midwife appointment on Sunday which is a bit odd but they had some staffing crisis so that was all they could do!

@MO22 love you saying you "completed the internet"! I think I've done that with "symptoms disappeared at 8 weeks!". But yes even when I do have some symptoms I just think "well I'd still have some Hcg anyway so it's probably just that". Unless I get full on vomiting I'm going to keep feeling nervous but I didn't get that with my DD so unlikely to this time.

Janefx40 · 14/10/2022 19:19

@Melusina123 next Monday is really soon. It will be good to hopefully pass that milestone even if you can't relax x

MO22 · 14/10/2022 19:57

@Melusina123 with your bleeding at 6 weeks, was it spotting or more?

Wondering if maybe I should mention my discharge to someone...
