@EmzieMurf1987 thank you for your support. I've been such a downer with my woes. Hope everyone else is keeping positive!

Hi ladies just an update from me as I had my viability scan today! Btw I hate the term viability it instantly fills me with dread! So started with TV and couldn’t see anything as my massive ovary’s were pushing everything back and now I’m starting to panic!

But an Abdominal scan showed my perfect little blob measuring 7+3 ( I’m 7+4 today) with a good strong flickering heart beat ❤️. Lots of tears of joy were shed and things seem to be going in the right direction! I’ve now been discharged to my local midwife and have now booked my first appointments 😬😬

The relief is immense and we even dared ourselves to look at baby clothes in Asda! Of course not brought anything but still it’s starting to feel more real now!!

how is everyone else doing? Xx

Woo congrats @EmzieMurf1987 that's fabulous news!!!!

EasterBunny7 · 22/07/2022 16:28

@EmzieMurf1987 such good news! You are the first to have your viability scan in this group. I feel buoyant hearing there's a heartbeat. Only 7 more days for me. A lifetime!

@EmzieMurf1987 great news about your scan!😄congratulations. Your must be really be uncomfortable if ovaries were that swollen though, poor you
@EasterBunny7 sorry to hear the spotting has continued it must be distressing. Not too long for your scan now although I appreciate it must feel like forever!

Hope everyone is doing okay? I kind of lost track of this thread during the heatwave so am catching up. My phone keeps freezing though so if I've missed anything important it's because of having to reload the page 100x times already haha

Raspberrydelight · 22/07/2022 21:46

Great news @EmzieMurf1987 so happy for you and our first heartbeat!

I managed to see my GP and he has done a repeat prescription for Clexane and referred me to obstetrics at the hospital for a follow up. Hopefully they’ll be able to organise a viability scan for me. I’m 6+2 today so hoping it’ll be when I’m 7 weeks.

Ive started getting some symptoms now which is weirdly reassuring- waves of nausea and tiredness… feeling similar to a hangover.

How is everyone else feeling?

ChristmasJumpers · 22/07/2022 22:08

@EmzieMurf1987 so lovely to see your scan, you must feel amazing having seen your baby 🥰 congratulations!

It's OTD for us tomorrow. I've been getting positives but they're only getting ever so slightly darker each day now. I has an awful nightmare last night that we got "not pregnant" and it was a chemical - woke up so upset and I'm super nervous now!

We're planning to tell our mums tomorrow all being well with cute little gift boxes

EmzieMurf1987 · 23/07/2022 10:16

Thank you everyone for your well wishes it means a lot! Feels like another mile stone ticked off which feels great at the moment but I’m sure the anxiety will be back soon! Next is the 12 week scan 😱😱

@EasterBunny7 your scan will be here before you know it, not long now! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

@thatismahogany they have shrunk to be fair they were 12cm each now 8cm so we are getting there! Oh no how annoying with your phone 🙈 but I bet it’s quite nice being in your own little bubble, hope your doing ok?

@Raspberrydelight I’m glad you have managed to get things sorted with the GP, I hope they can sort an early scan for you! If not try window to the womb they do an early scan package specifically for IVF patients. I’m thinking of having a private scan between now and the 12 week one for reassurance, il see how I feel. YES!! That hangover feeling describes the nausea very well! Holland and Barrett do some ginger chews called gin gins - OMG amazing! I had one of those yesterday with a ginger tea and it sorted me right out! You can also buy big bags off Amazon too. Hope you find something that works for you xx

@ChristmasJumpers oh good luck for OTD I’m sure your test will be a blazing positive! I think vivid dreams are also a sign of pregnancy but it not nice if it’s a horrible dream! I’m sure everything will be fine 😘 aw how lovely, we are also looking to do something for DH parents like that, such a special moment ❤️ I’m just a bit sad I couldn’t do a nice surprise for my parents but never mind they r over the moon ☺️ Xx

thatismahogany · 23/07/2022 14:32

@Raspberrydelight that's a perfect way to describe it- hungover. I've had a small amount of nausea, tiredness and headaches, but can't t be sure if its pregnancy related or because I'm trying to cut down my caffeine intake! Good to hear your gp has prescribed the meds you need

@ChristmasJumpers I'm sure you'll get your strong positive! Your idea for telling your mums is lovely. I really want to tell mine, but my DH wants to wait until after the scan to tell his. I'll have to see how it goes because I'd like them all to find out at the same time...

@EmzieMurf1987 yes sounds like you're getting there 😊And I think my phone got a bit overheated during the heatwave! I've tried not to let it overheat again and it seems okay-ish now. And I'm okay just wishing I had more symptoms so I could feel more secure about things (how silly to be upset I don't feel really unwell)! But we're all different aren't we? So trying to relax

Amy00 · 23/07/2022 19:07

@EasterBunny7 my clinic hasn't booked the viability scan yet, when I told them it was positive on OTD they just said test again in a week's time! Think they want to filter out the chemicals before they book people in 😩 they normally aim for a scan at 7 to 8.5 weeks so ages yet, I'm only 4+3 today. So I've done a silly thing and booked one privately for exactly 6 weeks on 3 August which could easily be too early and panic me unnecessarily but the next slot they had was for 7 weeks - I'm too impatient to wait that long!! I'm going to go with an open mind as hopefully we will see the start of something. We won't expect to see a heartbeat but there is a chance we would. Then we will have the proper one at the clinic at a more appropriate 7 weeks! How are you doing?

@EmzieMurf1987 that's such lovely news about your scan!! 🥰

@ChristmasJumpers Lines getting darker sound fab. Remember you should only really compare every other day as it can fluctuate a bit but if you are seeing a darker trend every 48 hours that is fab. Hope it was a super nice line for you this morning xx

ChristmasJumpers · 23/07/2022 20:13

@Amy00 thank you, rationally I know the every 48 hour rule but in practice I studied those lines every single day 😂

Thankfully today on OTD it was very positive and we got 2-3 weeks on a clear blue 🥰

How rude of your clinic to leave you hanging like that! I don't blame you for booking something in. I rang mine today and they gave me 16th August, 7 weeks 5 days. Later than I thought but I suppose there'll be no doubt about it being too early...

Twittwoo2020 · 23/07/2022 20:24

Hi Ladies, would love to join.

Have been TTC for over 2.5 years, I am early 30s as is my husband. I had an ectopic in summer 2020 after 6 months of trying and nothing since. We have unexplained fertility, had a couple of failed rounds of IUI this year and then did my first round of IVF in June got 7 embryos but only 1 made it to day 5, we transferred fresh and I am now 5+3.

Ive had my bloods tested 3 times in the past 7 days (because of my previous ectopic) and they are doubling perfectly. I have a scan at 6 weeks just to confirm pregnancy is in the right place and then another at 8 weeks.Today I have quite heavy period like cramps but hoping that’s normal. I’m riddled with anxiety that something is going to go wrong again and just wish I could be happy and enjoy this moment.

EasterBunny7 · 24/07/2022 09:06

@Twittwoo2020 congratulations and welcome to the group! Not long before your viability scan in a few days, hope that will calm your nerves. Brilliant that you have two, actually. Symptoms can be so confusing when they overlap with period signs: your cramps could just be ligament pain, a good sign.

We've got a few viability scans coming up this week in the group...

EasterBunny7 · 24/07/2022 09:13

@Amy00 they really know to take the joy out of your milestone don't they? Why not just book it as well as ask you to test again in a weeks time and update them?

It's not silly to book privately, plenty of people do it: I know the natural pregnancies thread does as they have to wait for the dating scan.

Morning ladies, how is everyone doing? Hope all is well with everyone xx

@Twittwoo2020 welcome to the group and congratulations! It’s amazing your clinic will scan you at 6 and 8 weeks.

when is everyone else due to finish their progesterone meds? I’m due to finish mine tomorrow! I’m so scared of stopping everything all at once! Last lubion is tomorrow, but I do have extra pessaries that I think I might continue to use and slowly reduce instead, what do you guys think?

good luck to everyone having scans this week 😘😘

handslikebirds · 25/07/2022 12:51

Had my viability scan today and all is good, little heart beating away. I've been told to stay on progesterone until 9 weeks

EmzieMurf1987 · 25/07/2022 13:25

Oh amazing news @handslikebirds you must be so relieved!! I know I was!! ❤️❤️

handslikebirds · 25/07/2022 13:29

@EmzieMurf1987 yep sooo relieved. I was bricking it beforehand at the clinic then the adrenaline rush went afterwards and I just wanted to sleep 😂 this was our only embryo from our cycle and we have no money to go through IVF again so it feels like so much is riding on this pregnancy sticking around.

Makes the incessant nausea feel more worth it!

ChristmasJumpers · 25/07/2022 13:48

@handslikebirds wow how amazing 🥰 congratulations

We are very similar, I only had one embryo make it to blast out of 25 eggs! We will be saving up for years if this round doesn't work 😞 so far so good but we're waiting until 16th August for a viability scan!

handslikebirds · 25/07/2022 14:04

Wow @ChristmasJumpers out of 25! I had 6 fertilised but none seemed to grow much and even the one that was transferred hadn't reached full blast stage. It can be so random can't it. Good luck for your scan!

ChristmasJumpers · 25/07/2022 14:07

@handslikebirds I think those 5 days after egg collection were the worst for me by far! 7 of the 25 fertilised but only one got to blast stage. From so many eggs we were of course gutted/relieved in equal measure but the worry never stops does it! Have you been referred to your local hospital now?

handslikebirds · 25/07/2022 14:41

@ChristmasJumpers yes, nothing ever feels certain. I've got my booking in appointment with the community midwives on Wednesday

Twittwoo2020 · 26/07/2022 18:02

How is everyone feeling? Hope everyone is doing well.

I had my first scan today (5w+6)and everything is measuring perfectly and we even got to see the tiniest flicker of a heartbeat 🥰🥰 The clinic were really happy with me and i’ve to go back in 2 weeks for another scan.

However, they saw a 2nd sac but it seems to be completely empty so said just something to keep an eye on, have to be rescanned in 2 weeks. I’m presuming if it’s completely empty there is zero chance of anything showing in 2 weeks time!

EasterBunny7 · 26/07/2022 19:39

@Twittwoo2020 that's amazing news! Congrats on your flicker of a heartbeat. I would say that's a good, strong embryo. How thrilling that there's a second sac! I just went back to remind myself of your profile: you only had one embryo transferred, I believe! Talk about miracles! I pray that second one shows itself but if it doesn't, I hope you are at least blessed with one healthy baby at the end of this long journey.

OP posts:
Twittwoo2020 · 26/07/2022 23:02

@EasterBunny7 thank you! Yes I just transferred the 1 embryo, only 1 made it to day 5 (out of 7) so seems to be our lucky bean, fingers crossed anyway!! I have no expectations of there being anything in the other sac in 2 weeks, she said it was completely empty and that this sometimes happens and by 2 weeks it will have have disappeared and been absorbed so to expect nothing. I can’t help myself but to think wouldn’t it have been nice to have 2 lol but i’m more than thankful for 1!!
