@JessLaw96 you poor thing. Definitely don't feel bad about calling in. If you're sick, you're sick and right to listen to your body and rest up. Hope the soak did you the world of good. I actually usually have much worse headaches but since transfer have only had two. I took one paracetamol each time as it was the only way I could sleep.

I'm the same @flowersinmay can't wait for that bump to arrive so I actually look pregnant and I'm a ways behind you yet. They were saying to come to the current set of pregnancy Pilates (which tbh I could use for my back) but small town and not having announced yet means that's a very bad idea so just have to wait it out to 12 weeks. Have you tried Pilates before? I've done yoga too but find Pilates is best for back issues personally.

flowersinmay · 14/09/2022 17:25

@Gracie2021 I have done Pilates before but prefer yoga - maybe it was the teacher? Maybe I should try again!

I've just found out we are having a boy 💙💙💙 the original gut feeling me and my partner had was right! Anyone else finding out soon? X

JessLaw96 · 14/09/2022 17:39

@Gracie2021 nice to know im not the only one!

@flowersinmay oh how amazing! So exciting! Im not going to find out the sex till baby is born

Agapanthus13 · 14/09/2022 18:24

@flowersinmay aww that’s wonderful news 💙 was that confirmed through your bloods?
I’m not sure if we’re going to find out, I always thought we would but as we get closer part I’m starting to think otherwise! Did you both just ‘know’ you wanted to know?

I have my first booking in appointment with my midwife tomorrow, feeling excited and nervous together. I went into the office this afternoon for the first time in over a month as I’ve just been so sick so feeling great that things are on the up!!

@Gracie2021 @JessLaw96 Hope you’re both doing well? Have you had your first midwife appointments yet?

JessLaw96 · 14/09/2022 18:27

@Agapanthus13 thats amazing! How many weeks are you now?

Im feeling rather poop yesterday and today. Had a awful headache yesterday and super nauseous aswell. So didnt go into work, plan to go back tomorrow but still very on and off.
I have my first midwife appointment this sunday coming 18th so excited to do that! Im hoping they will scan as well!

Happycroc · 14/09/2022 18:31

@flowersinmay that’s exciting! 💙 although I’m sure you could have done without the scare of them delivering the wrong news!

we won’t be finding out, both of ours were a surprise and we’ve got one of each so this little miracle is a bonus!

@Gracie2021 I haven’t booked one yet but I did mention to my DH that I would like to have one, I thought he’d tell me I was impatient and to wait but he actually said book it if it makes me feel better. I think I will…

the sickness bands are rubbish, well maybe they are or not! I still feel nauseous but maybe I’d feel worse without them! I’m blinking shattered and would just like to feel normal for one day! But I’m not complaining, honest, even if it sounds like I am 😉!

@JessLaw96 9/10 weeks is when the placenta takes over so some people start to feel better from now… let’s hope we do too!

JessLaw96 · 14/09/2022 19:40

@Gracie2021 oh is it! Fingers crossed we do! I mean I cant complain I could have it a lot worse than I do but totally know what you mean to just feel normal for one day even though I wouldn't change it for the world!

JessLaw96 · 14/09/2022 19:41

@Happycroc sorry that above message was meant for you! Ahha

Hi all, I had my 12 week scan today and all is looking good, baby would not stay still!

Any nub/skull theory people have an idea based on the scan photo?

IVFers Due Mar & Apr 2023
JessLaw96 · 15/09/2022 19:18

@ChristmasJumpers oh wow! How incredible is that! Bet you are relieved and very happy! Its getting me excited for mine now!

ChristmasJumpers · 15/09/2022 20:09

@JessLaw96 I was so nervous in the lead up but finally able to feel excited now! Settling into a pattern with my morning sickness to rather than all day which is such a relief

Agapanthus13 · 15/09/2022 22:09

@ChristmasJumpers what a beautiful scan pic! Must had been wonderful to see baby move? I keep seeing things about ‘nub theory’ but have no idea what it is? Think I need to do some reading! Can they not see the baby’s sex at 12weeks? Are you planning to find out when you can?

@JessLaw96 Hope you’re feeling a little brighter today xx the side effects def suck! But then whenever I have an afternoon of feeling ok I spend it worrying that somethings wrong. I’ll be 11weeks on Saturday 🙌 you’re almost 10weeks now right? That’s exciting your appointment is coming up! And great you can do it on a Sunday!! Mine took a good 1.5hrs today and they did bloods & a urine sample (which I wasn’t expecting) and then my scan will be in the next 2weeks, just waiting for an appointment date now 🤞🏻 Although we’re thinking we might do a scan & bloods with our ivf clinic next week as it sounds like their bloods are more in-depth.

Hope everyone is getting on ok. Has anyone started to notice their belly growing yet?

EmzieMurf1987 · 15/09/2022 22:26

Hi ladies! Not been very present the last week as we are away on our baby moon 😂. Although really should have done a bit more research before as we in the hottest and most humid place in Europe - not ideal when pregnant!! But it’s super nice to have some time away together alone 😍.

lovely to see lots of good news regarding scans - I’m counting the days till mine next week! I don’t know how people go 8 weeks with no scan!

sorry to hear some of you are still feeling rough, hopefully things improve with time. Still suffering with headaches though sometimes they last days 🙈.

@ChristmasJumpers I really can’t get on with nib theory I can’t find it on any scans I look at 😂😂. Think skull theory is rounded for a girl and more square for a boy?? Must be more to it than that though!! Are u going to find out? Il say boy for you 💙💙 - there’s a 50% chance I’m right 😂😂

@Agapanthus13 I absolutely have a definite bump! So il post the first bump pics 😂 I’m super proud showing it off now the world knows. This is me 15+3 🤰. Can’t wait to see others growing bumps xx

@Agapanthus13 thankfully today I feel a lot better thank you! Yes I cant wait for our appointment im really hoping for a scan too but by the sounds of it ill have to wait till closer to 12! Yes Im currently 9w3d so not too fair off 10weeks now which is exciting!

@EmzieMurf1987 oh wow look at that lovely bump! I cant wait for this!

Gracie2021 · 16/09/2022 12:07

@ChristmasJumpers that's such a lovely scan photo, glad it went well for you. Afraid I'm terrible at distinguishing these scan pictures. I can't even see the nub to start with 🙈 what way are you thinking?

@EmzieMurf1987 yay for the baby moon, hope you're having a blast even with the hot and humid 🥵 you've a lovely wee bump there. Is it lovely to be obviously pregnant? I can't wait to be able to announce and stop hiding it and actually have a bump instead of bloat.

1.5 hours is such a long appointment @Agapanthus13 and that was without even a scan. Wow they just be thorough. Did you book in for a scan next week after? Definitely noticing the belly now. It's not really bump just a lot of bloat but can see people starting to speculate in work in coming weeks so going to have to get creative with the clothes.

Great that the OH is so understanding and on the same page for the scan @Happycroc Did you decide to go ahead and book?

@flowersinmay congrats on your boy!!! Wow! I have a feeling it's a girl, no idea why. Saw three magpies the other day too which is meant to signify 😂😂😂 can't wait to find out either way.

Glad you're feeling better @JessLaw96 im actually the same the last few days. Even the tiredness isn't as bad and almost clear of the nausea completely. If it wasn't for the sore boobs I might have gotten worried 😂😂

Strategizing coming off meds here at the minute. My clinic said to go cold turkey at 12 weeks on everything but I think I'm going to wean off the steroids over the course of week 11 for certain and maybe stagger coming off the progesterone injections and gel so I'm not doing it all the same day. Anyone else been told to stagger or just cold turkey?

truetotal · 16/09/2022 12:30

@ChristmasJumpers lovely scan picture! I knew absolutely nothing about nub theory until very recently so I'm definitely not an expert! Im guessing boy for you based on no knowledge whatsoever 😂😊

@EmzieMurf1987 your bump looks lovely! I can't wait to get to this point! Glad you have been able to enjoy a baby moon even if it is roasting!

I don't have much of a bump yet because I'm only 11 weeks but I did have my dating scan so I'll join in with the scan pictures 😊 I could have watched them kicking about all day! So cute! 🥰

Hello everyone, so lovely to see the thread being so active. I've been reading along but not been too well recently. Had my dating scan at 13+4 and it seems to have gone well, which is a relief. I've been reading about how some of you had your due date changed and I kept that in mind, ready to fight my corner but I had the most lovely sonographer, who was on the ball about this. Now, waiting on the combined screening test results in the next two weeks. My next scan will be in about 7 weeks, which is a bit daunting after having scans every 2 weeks.

@JessLaw96 belated welcome to the group and congratulations!

@flowersinmay it's a boy 💙just as you predicted! How exciting! Have you bought any clothes?

@thatismahogany and @EmzieMurf1987 i checked in on the 16 week appointment and they insist it is a telephone call. I am miffed that they won't check my urine again considering everything I have gone through with this UTI. I will be relying on my GP for that, from now on.

Going back to the pregnancy pillow, I got myself a u-shaped one and despite a lot of favourable reviews, it was just not meant for me. I did not like the weight of it on my arm, which has to go underneath, neither did I enjoy lying my head on it. So, back to the drawing board for me. I've been finding myself sleeping on my back almost every night, and sometimes attempting to sleep on my belly - both of which I never did before!

Been keeping up with everyone else's stories too. Glad to hear things are progressing well @Gracie2021 @Happycroc @ChristmasJumpers and everyone else I've missed out too!

@truetotal somewhere I missed or forgot that you are having twins! How amazing and those scans look so great too. I commend you for carrying two babies, honestly.

Gracie2021 · 16/09/2022 14:51

This is actually fun guessing. Ok having btw i pics for comparison I'm gonna say girl for you @ChristmasJumpers and boys for you @truetotal. 50% shot in being right! Are you noticing a lot of extra symptoms carrying two @truetotal?

Have you tried turning the U pillow upside down @EasterBunny7? So your feet are in the bottom of the U? Frustrating that you're not being seen but hope your GP has been able to help you out with the UTI? Are you feeling any better? So glad your scan went well.

thatismahogany · 16/09/2022 16:43

@EasterBunny7 I may have missed your other posts about finding a pillow, is it to help you lie on your side? My midwife told me it's best to lie on your side after a certain point in pregnancy (something to do with oxygen/blood flow?) although good to get in the habit early.

Also, excellent news about the scan! Congratulations 😊I know it's different everywhere but I didn't wait long for my combined test results. Had a scan on a Tuesday and results by post the following Monday.

EasterBunny7 · 16/09/2022 21:13

@Gracie2021 haha yes I did at the suggestion of my husband. Unfortunately, it's widens on the end and so the leg is too far apart to give back support, which Iis what I really need.

Recovering day by day thankfully, and thanks for asking! Feels surreal that I've made it to the second trimester, who would have ever thought!

@EmzieMurf1987 yes, that's exactly why I'm after a pillow so early on, my sleeping habits have changed and could prove to be a detriment to the pregnancy. I have zero faith that my hospital would get my results to me early, after the mess they made with my other results. I find your updates interesting with you being just slightly ahead of me, allows me to mentally prepare for what's to come.

Has anyone else's sonographer mentioned a gender whilst doing the scan? I forgot to mention that mine regereed to the baby with a certain gender. I wonder if that was just a default of hers or if she saw something!

Gracie2021 · 17/09/2022 11:27

Pity it doesn't work @EasterBunny7 will you keep trying til you find one you like? I was about to buy the pharmedoc one on Amazon but then saw reviews saying there's a warning label on the pillow when it comes saying it has materials that can cause birth defects?! Like WTH?! So back to the drawing board.... like the look of the Awesling one too but it wouldn't be delivered til November..... I think im Defo overthinking the whole thing tbh....

@thatismahogany I'm a back sleeper and really need to start training myself onto my side hence the pillow research. Need all the help I can get on this. Think I read somewhere it's not an issue til sometime after 20 weeks ish.... hope your scan went well on Tuesday and 🤞 for results soon.

EmzieMurf1987 · 17/09/2022 16:00

@Gracie2021 OMG! I was literally about to order the pharmedoc pillow! Thank god I read yr post! That’s insane! How can they advertise it as a pregnancy pillow and have that warning on it!!?? 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 back to the drawing board I suppose!

I deffo enjoy showing off my bump 🥰 I’d never in a million years wear clothes that show off my tummy otherwise! Usually it’s baggy dresses/tops, but wearing those clothes now makes me feel ultra big so I’d rather wear something figure showing now.

I thought if ppl could see you were pregnant they might be nice …. Nope!! I’ve experienced ppl barging into me, not giving up seats specifically for pregnant/elderly and I’ve even been in tears due to ppl clearly pushing in front of me - I’m probably over sensitive with all the hormones but still it’s not nice 😥

@truetotal gorgeous scan pics! I’m sure u will pop soon. I had a bump at 11 weeks and only have the one 😂

@EasterBunny7 I still find it mad how different areas do things differently! Hopefully your GP will be more helpful with things! I have my 16 week app. Next week and have to take a urine sample with me 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m glad you had a lovely sonographer, it makes all the difference! 🤔🤔 it would deffo make you think if they refer to baby as a specific gender! So far mine have all called it baby 😂 il deffo be going into all future scans announcing I don’t want to know 😂😂

Gracie2021 · 18/09/2022 09:17

It so strange @EmzieMurf1987 like I don't think it can be for real but there pictures of it in the reviews so not going to chance it. Tempted to try the 29.99 pound Amazon bestseller but I don't trust it to keep me off my back.
I'm the exact same about the stomach now. Like it's the only time in your life you're proud there's something there to see so may as well embrace it! Sorry you're getting such rudeness. People can be so unkind.
