Welcome @Nancy155 and congratulations for getting this far! Good luck with that scan next week - what day is it? Is it your dating scan? Glad that your symptoms are easing.

Welcome @truetotal. Twins! How amazing! How are you feeling? Do you have exaggerated symptoms with two on board? I think you are our first twin mum. Is your next scan the dating scan?

@Gracie2021 so pleased that everything is on track! Hoping the small bleed they saw is nothing to be too concerned about, but at least you have an inkling what it is. My next scan is next Wednesday.

@flowersinmay aren't 4d scans amazing! Also good news that everything is on track and it has calmed your nerves. I agree with you in that I find it surreal that I am even having conversations about pregnancy progression. Who would have ever thought I would get this far. Although, I don't take it as granted that it will continue as such.

@EmzieMurf1987 so good that your pregnancy announcement was such a happy occasion. Also glad to hear that everything is on track with baby's progress. Completing first trimester deserves a celebration!

@flowersinmay and @EmzieMurf1987 I am convinced that I am having a 💙too! My reason being my mild symptoms. I've also read stats saying that boys are conceived more often through ivf. We are planning to find out the gender, currently no urgent rush so we won't be doing sneak peek or a early private scan. We are very happy with either gender, but cannot stand the idea of not being able to plan ahead.

Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted much but I've been reading along everyone's posts. I just haven't felt like I have much to say, just been ticking along feeling quite rough at times.

I was wondering if anyone else was on Crinone Gel. I'm 12 weeks now and have these whitish/yellowy slightly firm clumps dropping out of my vadge whenever I go to the loo. It looks like mashed up tissue that's been wet then dried in a clump (sorry tmi). I can only think it must be old crinone gel but it's been 3 weeks since I stopped doing the pessaries so I wondered if anyone else who'd been on it had the same or whether it might not be that and some other problem.

EasterBunny7 · 25/08/2022 15:10

@handslikebirds :D yes, I have the same. Sometimes, it's a few days later, sometimes it's a couple of weeks later. Once, it came out in the shower, that was a fun jolt to the system. It's icky isn't it. Glad you're ticking along.

truetotal · 25/08/2022 16:16

@EasterBunny7 thanks! I think I have exaggerated symptoms but I've never been pregnant before so I can't really tell. The fatigue has been pretty extreme though, I can't really walk for more than 10 minutes before needing to sit down and I was pretty active before so it's been a tough adjustment! I'm being sick most days too. I don't really mind though, I find it weirdly reassuring 😂
Yes my next scan is at 11 weeks so keeping my fingers crossed that there are still 2 healthy little ones then!

@handslikebirds I was on crinone but only for a couple of weeks and had this as well. It was grim and pretty uncomfortable! It was still coming out weeks later for me too (tmi sorry 🙈).

Gracie2021 · 25/08/2022 19:14

Hi @truetotal congrats on the extra bounty. Very exciting. Can imagine that would take an extra toll on your body. I'm knackered here with just the one.

@handslikebirds exact same story for me with the crinone. It's just a horrible necessary evil unfortunately. Glad you're at the tail end of it though.

Glad you have your next scan so soon @EasterBunny7 exciting stuff. I'm team find out too and my husband doesn't mind either way so we'll find out whenever they can tell. No mad rush but I'd prefer to give myself time to wrap my head around it either way. My only worry is managing to keep the secret as I'd love to have one thing between just me and himself but I can't keep my own secrets to save my life. Interesting stats @EmzieMurf1987 we had a slow Hatcher and Chinese birthday site says girl so who knows.

How did telling your partners mum go @flowersinmay? I'm sure she was over the moon. Getting very official now. Little paddy/Patricia 🍀

Think nausea is properly setting in for the first day here. Have been feeling like lunch will reappear and even a banana isn't settling my stomach for dinner. A large part of me is thrilled as hopefully it means positive things even if I feel like crap.

EasterBunny7 · 26/08/2022 18:52

What a week! I think I joined myself with talk of mild symptoms. Had an ongoing headache for the last 5 days. Not taken paracetamol as already on double dose aspirin. Felt much more tired too. Fell asleep one afternoon during work but was so exhausted, I just thought: come what may, I cannot even open my eyes right now. At the same time, I feel my 'bump' has gone down so all kinds of wild thoughts keeping me occupied.

Thanks @Gracie2021 @truetotal and @EasterBunny7 for the reassurance!! I am off for my 12 week scan today 😬

Gracie2021 · 27/08/2022 09:42

Exciting stuff @handslikebirds good luck!

Sounds like the fatigue is properly hitting you @EasterBunny7. Did anyone in work catch you at it? 😂🙈 just got a ton of really tight work deadlines for September so a bit worried as that will possibly be my worse weeks for symptoms.

EmzieMurf1987 · 27/08/2022 16:24

@EasterBunny7 that's brilliant you fell asleep at work 😂😂😂 really made me chuckle. I’m really hoping I get that second trimester new lease of life as il be going back to 12.5 he shifts in a few weeks 😱😱 starting with 2 nights a day off then 2 days 🙈🙈. Currently needing afternoon naps at the moment lol

@handslikebirds good luck with your 12 week scan!! I really hope u get a lovely scan pic, mine was awful if u squint u can just make out a baby 😂😂

@truetotal how amazing twins!! Will they be non-identical? I really hope they are treating you well and yr symptoms aren’t too bad, gosh symptoms from one are hard enough! It will all be worth it though xx

so I caved and have brought maternity clothes, I have a serious bump and no denying I’m pregnant 🤰🤰 it is obvious for the world to see so proudly showing it off now 😍😍 I just think I may never be pregnant again so I’m absolutely going to embrace my new growing shape xx

truetotal · 27/08/2022 17:44

Hope your scan went well today! @handslikebirds

Thanks @Gracie2021 and @EmzieMurf1987 congrats to you both as well! Yes non identical. They looked very separate on the scan. I had originally thought I would wait for a surprise but now that I know there will be two we are definitely finding out the genders so we can be a prepared as possible!

@EasterBunny7 I'm with you on the falling asleep at work! Was working from home on Friday and fell asleep during someone's presentation! Thankfully my camera was off and no one asked me any questions 😂

handslikebirds · 27/08/2022 18:32

Thanks @Gracie2021 @EmzieMurf1987 and @truetotal scan went really well, in and out within half an hour and everything as it should be!

@handslikebirds absolutely beautiful! Still in awe how much babies grow and how fast. Can you believe we started off with a bunch of cells!

OP posts:
handslikebirds · 27/08/2022 21:29

@EasterBunny7 thank you, I really can't believe how big it is now. Esp as it started as an early blast on day 5, didn't even make it to full blast and was only an ok grade for an early blast. No other embryos grew to any kind of blast stage, so this really is our one little miracle fighter babe!

Cheddar2021 · 28/08/2022 08:38

Hello
I am just joining the thread 6+1. I’ve had constant nausea all day for one week. I can’t seem to shift it. I also have covid and on antibiotics for UTI. I have antiemetic which have stopped me being physically sick but they are not helping with nausea. It’s constant. I have gone off all food and drink. Nothing tastes good. I’m really struggling- anyone else? I’m hoping once covid passes it will improve. I’m on day 5 since testing covid+.

Gracie2021 · 28/08/2022 12:43

Wow @handslikebirds that's such a beautiful pick. Hard to believe how fast they grow. How are you feeling?

Hope you're catching up on your sleep this weekend @EasterBunny7 plenty of naps happening here before I face the week again!

Hi @Cheddar2021 sorry you're having such a rough time, sounds like you've been hit with everything at once! Fingers crossed the worst is over with for Covid at least!

handslikebirds · 28/08/2022 12:55

Just so sick @Gracie2021 😭 can't wait for a day when I can enjoy food again and not feel nauseous! But worth it to see little baby growing

flowersinmay · 29/08/2022 07:46

Hi all, loving all these updates! Welcome @Nancy155 @truetotal- can't believe it's twins amazing news!
@handslikebirds congrats - lovely scan pic!

Hope everyone on the thread is doing well?

@Gracie2021 telling my mother in law was lovely - she didn't stop crying, and it made me start crying too! 😆 hope you're doing ok?

Random question but is anyone feeling sick from the prenatal vitamins? I've had to stop taking them because they are giving me a headache and making me nauseous! I googled it and apparently it's a thing! Also they are huge tablets- makes me gag every time! Surely there must be something better out there?! For now I'm just sticking to taking folic acid and vitamin d! Might ask the chemist if they recommend something else! Thoughts appreciated! Xox

handslikebirds · 29/08/2022 08:07

@flowersinmay I bought chewy ones from Boots, strawberry and orange flavour. They taste ok. I also tried the mouth spray which tastes a bit gross but very convenient to do 4 quick sprays a day. The seven seas pills are teeny compared to the pregnacare ones- I can't swallow them. I do recommend trying the chewy ones. They didn't make me feel sick but I did miss taking them on a few days where I felt too sick and couldn't bear the thought.

flowersinmay · 29/08/2022 09:30

Thanks for answering @handslikebirds and for your words of wisdom! I think chewy ones could be the way forward, will have to pop down the shops and have a look.

In other news I thought my symptoms had gone in week 10 but they're back again in week 11 (sigh!). Still feeling incredibly tired and sometimes sick! Really hope the second trimester is easier! Obviously still so happy to be pregnant, and I'm really looking forward to getting a proper bump and seeing my body change - I know some women find this hard to deal with but I'm weirdly looking forward to it!

Sending love to all xox

thatismahogany · 29/08/2022 16:58

Hi everyone, been a bit quiet again, just anxiously waiting for my 12 week scan. Sleeping probably 18 hours total on my days off, including naps, and my sleeping pattern is all over the place! Also feeling nauseous and actually sick some days. Somehow pulled it together for an old friend's wedding. I ate maybe 1/2- 2/3 of my meal with the help of Metoclopramide and danced until nearly midnight (and worried I'd done some damage because of that 😑typical!)

Sorry to those of you feeling unwell too, I hope it's a good sign for us!

@truetotal congratulations on your twins how exciting. I completely understand you wanting to be well prepared 😊

@handslikebirds congratulations on your scan glad everything's look good

@Cheddar2021 I feel rough at the moment and have felt awful when I've had a UTI and Covid (separately) in the past. I'm not surprised you feel so unwell! And I'm sure you'll feel better once the infections have passed, and I hope they both clear up soon

@flowersinmay I took pregnacare (hoping to get some vitamins from somewhere as I wasn't eating much (I lost about 6 pounds) but even the smell made me retch which my midwife said is common. I'm just taking vit D + folic acid now

Lastly ladies, just wondering if anyone is considering getting the Harmony NIPT and if so when/where?

EasterBunny7 · 30/08/2022 09:04

@Cheddar2021 Welcome and congrats on your successful ivf pregnancy! Was this a frozen or fresh cycle for you? First attempt? Sorry to hear you've feeling so poorly at the moment, quite a few things to be dealing with in one go!

@Gracie2021 Thanks for the support. Headaches have continued and I am going to bed earlier, so I think it's a bit of fatigue setting in. How are you getting along?

@flowersinmay I'm terrible at pinpointing what could possibly be giving me headaches, so I'm of no help. All I know is, I've been told to take them after eating a meal. Sorry to hear the symptoms have reared up, hopefully they will disappear soon, in a more permanent fashion.

@thatismahogany you're made of strong stuff to keep social events, I've already cancelled a few. I may not have many symptoms but my belly is huge! I just had not been in the right headspace to be announcing at those points, especially not to people I see circumstantially. When is your 12 week scan? About the NIPT test, ideally I would want to take it - I hadn't realised before now that it's not offered free on the NHS. I haven't quite made up my mind yet, so I'd be interested to hear other's answers as well. Have you got your initial blood/urine tests back yet? I wonder when those come back?

All others, would love to hear how you are getting along too! 🙂

OP posts:
EmzieMurf1987 · 30/08/2022 11:17

@thatismahogany i think unless my bloods come back as high risk for T13, 18, 21. I don’t think il bother with NIPT test. My NT was all normal on my scan and all organs and limbs normal and brain also normal. Also it’s been nearly a week since and not heard anything as they ring you within a few days if it’s high so I’m assuming I’m not 🎉🎉. It’s a totally individual choice though xx

thatismahogany · 30/08/2022 11:26

@EasterBunny7 I honestly have no idea how I did it! I'm back to being exhausted again, so maybe it was just a good day (+ all the willpower I could muster). We haven't told anyone except my mum at this point. I'd be surprised if our friends didn't notice me hardly eating and not drinking, but they didn't say anything. 12 week scan isn't for another week unfortunately. And my midwife said she'd only be in contact if the blood/urine test results were abnormal and it's been a few weeks now so I assume it's all good 😊and hopefully that's why you haven't heard back either. I'd call if worried though

thatismahogany · 30/08/2022 11:31

@EasterBunny7 and yes it's difficult to know what to do re the NIPT isn't it? I think some trusts offer it if the initial tests come back high risk, but I could be wrong

@EmzieMurf1987 that sounds very sensible, and logically I know we could do without spending £400ish on another scan/test but I worry about everything 😅that's great news about your scan results. And yes I'd heard that contact you asap with high risk results, so that's good you haven't heard back yet
