Update from me:
9+2: had a big bleed which scared the crap out of me. It was expecially disconcerting as the last big bleed had happened after a transvaginal scan so I put it down to the pressure of that, whereas this time nothing had happened and the spotting had actually gone down to near nothing for a week or so. My immediate reaction was to go to A&E but I've done that before and they don't scan you in the evening/nights so it would have been a waste of time. I had a scan coming up the next day, so I held on for dear life.
9+3: follow up ultrasound scan with EPU for subchorionic hematoma issue. Baby alive and well, thank God! Measuring three days behind. Bleed still measuring 18mm, despite big bleed previous night. Got contradictory information: the bleed will disappear in 2-3 weeks, but if that was the case, why hasn't it reduced at all/disappeared in the last two weeks? In the end, was just told that I can do nothing to resolve it and it needs to be continually monitored.
9+3: midwife booking in appointment. Coincidentally, assigned on the same day as EPU appointment. Just about made it, with timing being tight! I personally found the session long and tedious. Being told about what foods to eat/not eat towards the latter end of first trimester is just very late! They asked about my education level, property ownership etc which I found wholly irrelevant for having a baby. The questions were standalone and making insuniations rather than actually asking: are you ok financially, do you have space at home for a baby, are you mentally ready etc. There were several elements I found useful though: I got to change my dating scan on the spot, and I was booked in for a gestational diabetes test in advance, again to my liking of timing. I was given a whole host of leaflets to read through and it's a little bit overwhelming because it seems so far into the future, but I will slowly read through them. Oh, yes and I did all the bloods and urine test that I was worried was getting too late. Midwife also mentioned that she will recommend that I get my cervix checked and in case I need stitches, just a precaution.
9+4: today: having a medication crisis. I haven't been able to pick up pessaries for the last two weeks because of stock issues at pharmacies - plural! Now, I get to add crinone gel to that list, for the same reason! I am getting anxious because I run out very soon and I need to get three weeks worth. A little bit frustrating!
