Eek. Amber warning just issued for extreme heat on sunday.

Good news though is it's a couple degrees cooler tomorrow. Still too hot, but hopefully not as dire as today.

madeleine85 · 11/07/2022 17:28

@Delight12 that is just the best news :) congratulations love!

Cakecakecheese · 11/07/2022 17:36

@Delight12 Yay! That's brilliant news!

I had to pop into the assessment unit today and while it's good that my blood pressure has improved and my baby's heartbeat is ok I wouldn't have minded staying longer it's nice and cool in there!

madeleine85 · 11/07/2022 18:46

@Cakecakecheese glad things seem to be getting better! Also amazing to find a cold hospital ward, make the most of those temperatures :). Hope you all have some cold paddling pools to rest your pregnant lady legs in!

Isonthecase · 11/07/2022 20:17

@ToCaden I didn't even know you can get amber heat warnings!

If anyone needs me I'll be in my freezer 😅

Hey everyone, my baby is coming home today we are currently waiting on discharge paperwork then we are good to go😊

Wonderful news! ☺️☺️

ToCaden · 11/07/2022 07:48

@RP90 thank you. All the drugs sounds like a very good idea.

Good luck today fellow uk people (not sure what it's like in other countries). Supposed to be even hotter than yesterday!

Where I live,, it's scheduled to be 37 degrees next week 😅 F that! I'll be firmly indoors standing directly under my aircon.

Cakecakecheese · 12/07/2022 09:45

Today's scan seemed to show the placenta is fine so it's not that causing lack of growth. I've got a growth scan next week

squatternutbosh12 · 12/07/2022 10:55

Genuinely scared of how hot it’s going to be 😱

glad your placenta is ok @Cakecakecheese

I had my last growth scan yesterday which showed baby is growing well, in fact it estimated him at 6lbs 2oz already at 35+3?! This was bigger than I expected as my bump isn’t looking very big - the consultant on my appointment after the scan did look at my bump and declared baby ‘more like 5.5lbs - you don’t have 6lbs 2 of baby in there’ - 😂 I guess we will see who was more accurate come section day.

Having section a week earlier at 38 weeks rather than 39 was suggested as I’m still struggling with vomiting and eating. However have declined at present and am going to try and make it to 39 weeks as was told would be recommended IM steroids if done at 38 weeks, and I don’t particularly want that if it can be avoided by putting up with it for an extra week. 🤷‍♀️ So the compromise was if I’m not admitted for fluids again I can keep the 39 week date, if I get so dehydrated I have to be admitted again then it’ll be the earlier one. Seems fair!

ToCaden · 12/07/2022 11:00

How does it feel hotter than yesterday though the temp is lower! Am sitting at my desk pouring sweat.

@Cakecakecheese glad your placenta seems ok.

Passthetena · 12/07/2022 11:09

I've caught toddlers vomiting bug 😭 this is not a good week.

ToCaden · 12/07/2022 11:12

@squatternutbosh12 mine was a touch below 6 pounds at 34+3 so prob the same or more than you were measured now I'm 35+3, but my bump is huge which makes more sense. I'm already one of those pregnant woman you look at from the side and cringe because the bump looks just unnaturally big.

Good luck with the heat. Hope you manage to keep hydrated.

PopGoesBang · 12/07/2022 11:20

@Cakecakecheese glad today is more reassuring. Baby might do a bit of growing in the next week!

I'm just back from my 36 week growth scan. Baby has finally moved from transverse to head down, so we were all relieved about that. Induction now booked for 39 weeks... which is the last day of July - so I may just trickle over into August... she's 6lb9oz so technically already bigger than DD was at full term. All happy with how the GD is going and thankfully the HG seems to have taken a back seat, it did rear up delightfully in labour last time but fingers crossed for this one.
Also the lovely sonography lady confirmed there were definite girl bits today - it had been playing on my mind that the one at 22 weeks had said no obvious boy bits and I was half afraid.

Dp and I realised on the way to the scan that potentially the next time we do that journey we will be heading home with a baby!

Hi all,
I'm having a bit of a moment. I was in hospital last night with possible pre-eclampsia, they did monitoring and tests and sent me away witn a lent blood pressure machine to test at home.
I've had another phone call this morning as one of the bloods came back with raised enzymes on liver or something so again concern over pre-eclampsia. They've booked me in for more bloods next week and have asked me to check blood pressure daily.
I'm having a freak out. Should I be worried??
I just thought I was swelling because it was hot. Arggg!

I’m sorry to hear about all the worry - unfortunately I don’t know enough about it to provide guidance - but I wanted to send you love and hopefully one of the people here can make you feel better.

Today I am celebrating 37 weeks. I can’t believe I’ve made it, although my body’s way to celebrate has been to make my hands, fingers, feet and ankles swell up. I am living in sliders!

Cakecakecheese · 12/07/2022 15:23

@LiMc1 oh no but at least they're keeping a close eye on you. Hopefully you don't have pre eclampsia but if you do then they'll have spotted it and will do their best to make sure you and baby are OK.

Beth262 · 12/07/2022 19:54

@Cakecakecheese glad the placenta is ok. One less thing to worry about!

@squatternutbosh12 sorry you're still suffering with vomiting and eating. Pregnancy is so tough on our bodies.

@Passthetena ugh a vomiting bug is bad at any time, but combined with this heat you have my every sympathy!

@PopGoesBang Ooooh that's a really exciting thought that next time you take that journey you will potentially be heading home with baby. Makes it all seem a bit close and real now!

@LiMc1 So glad they're keeping an eye on you just in case.

@SquigsC with you on the swollen hands and feet. My engagement ring is back in its box and my sliders are just about fitting though my feet look like badly stuffed sausage rolls in them. I feel like such a catch 😆

I had my 36 week check with the midwife today. She had a good old poke and prod to check position (4/5ths engaged) and since then I've had nothing but flippin lightning crotch on and off all day. He's clearly been disturbed! Anyone else getting this?!

Isonthecase · 12/07/2022 20:23

Sounds like a few of you have been through the mill, hopefully things improve soon. If not, good news is we've got an absolute maximum of 2 months until the last babies now, and that's for any due at the end of August that have to be induced! It's all coming a bit quick, or not quick enough depending on the temperature...

Delight12 · 12/07/2022 22:02

She's so small lol
