@Mufflette keeping fingers crossed for you with the contractions then 🤞 yeah same my first too so all new - feel like it's a bit of a waiting game at the moment at 37+1 though.

Tacoboutit · 04/08/2022 03:17

@ToCaden I’m so sorry you’re going through this. A midwife did the same to me, wouldn’t give me additional pain relief and threatened that if I took it, I wouldn’t be allowed home that day, as the doctors would think I couldn’t manage my pain relief. I argued that I had a long car journey and stairs to get up, so I wanted pain relief to help with that, then I’d manage with paracetamol and ibuprofen at home. She begrudgingly gave me it and before I took it, I reiterated “so if I take this, I’ll be able to get home today?” And she said yes. Hope you get home soon x

SantiagoSister · 04/08/2022 09:45

Feeling disheartened after my consultant appointment yesterday, was examined and my cervix is only at a bishops score of 4, which when I’ve read up means I’m unlikely to go into spontaneous labour any time soon, and that it’s likely an induction would also fail if I were have one now. They have pencilled me in for induction the end of next week at 41 weeks, really didn’t want to be going down that road but feeling like it’s probably inevitable now.

Beth262 · 04/08/2022 11:53

@Mufflette hope all is going smoothly

@SantiagoSister Can't imagine how frustrated you're feeling after that appointment yesterday but there's still time before that 41 week induction! Keep positive, but I know it's bloody hard at this stage. Just got back from another 3 mile cross country walk with doggo and absolutely nothing despite 39+4. Consultant appointment for me tomorrow and will likely be in the same boat. We can moan together 🙂 xx

Thank you @Beth262, as you say, there’s still time, but it’s difficult to keep positive isn’t it 😩 wow, you’d have definitely thought that walk might’ve sparked baby into action! Really hoping you have positive news tomorrow at your appointment 🤞🏼 If not, then we will absolutely moan together for the foreseeable 😂 xx

I finally got my C section date!!! There was a bit of a disaster where the doctor didn't schedule it, and then couldn't get a slot for the operating room, but fortunately there was just a cancellation. Monday at 930am, but showing up at 730am at hospital for check in/tests which honestly is perfect. My MIL is coming down on Sunday morning to help with our toddler too for a few days. Now I just have to hold this child in for 4 days, get through one more non stress test/measurement scan tomorrow then we're on the home stretch. This is suddenly feeling very real. Given how little he is supposed to be, i've not packed any onesies in my hospital bag for fear of tempting fate re. the NICU, but as we will be 36+6 on the C section date, I think I should maybe chance it now and do a once over on my hospital bag anyway.

Hope you're all doing well, I feel like there are going to be a lot of babies suddenly arriving on this thread over the weekend, please keep us posted for baby watch, and for anyone in labour/waiting for their section this weekend, good luck!!! x

Beth262 · 04/08/2022 19:43

@madeleine85 wonderful news you've got your date through - my EDD! 🙂
@SantiagoSister and I are hoping we are some of the lucky ones in your feelings of babies arriving over the weekend 😆

AbiGoLucky · 04/08/2022 19:43

@madeleine85 Ah fantastic news! Hope it all goes well for you and baby! Won't be too long before you get to see him then 🙂

SantiagoSister · 04/08/2022 20:24

@madeleine85 that’s great news! It must be lovely to have a date now. And not too long to wait either and you’ll be holding your lovely little one in your arms 🥰

As @Beth262 says, we are absolutely hoping we are some of the lucky ones who you feel may be having some arrivals this weekend 🤞🏼😅

madeleine85 · 04/08/2022 21:04

Thanks everyone, and i'm seriously hoping to hear more good news on the baby arrival front from everyone this weekend ❤. Fingers crossed for all of you lovely ladies!

PopGoesBang · 04/08/2022 23:48

I'm sending positive get into action vibes to all those waiting. And good luck to those with dates etc for next week.
Looking forward to popping in and out over the weekend and seeing more arrivals x

CoalCraft · 05/08/2022 06:31

WARNING the following post is REAL GROSS and also a bit ranty and self-absorbed

Shall we play a game called "have I contacted a tummy bug or is this pre-labour diarrhoea"? Arguments in favour of the former: I'm also feeling a bit sicky and have heartburn, which is new, plus DD had a touch of the runs with her recent illness. Arguments in favour of the latter: I think I also lost my mucus plug this morning. I have been having loads of discharge recently so can't be sure but this was a big jelly like blob with a faint pink tinge.

Altogether I'm thinking tummy bug, which is probably for the best as I'd like another week or two before baby arrives (am 37+6 today), but man oh man am I sad about how my maternity leave has gone so far, between DD being home ill and now this. So much for getting a couple of restful weekend 😢

CoalCraft · 05/08/2022 06:33

@SantiagoSister Really hope baby gets a move on for you. Try to stay hopeful! 🤞

@madeleine85 Exciting!! That's so close!!

mamaof2girls · 05/08/2022 06:52

Sorry just been trying to catch up with the chat.
Hope everyone that's going to have their baby's soon all goes well and everyone will soon all have their baby's in their arms.

37 weeks today or 21 days to go whatever sounds quicker 🙈🙈 but also good to know that we are full term and any day now baby could be here! X

mamaof2girls · 05/08/2022 06:54

@CoalCraft oh the pink tinge does sound promising I had it with me second at night and by the next morning it started having contractions and it just kept coming away all day and had her that day! So hopefully that's what happens for you! I never got it with my first till I was actually in Labour! X

squatternutbosh12 · 05/08/2022 07:41
