@Celyn22 ivf due date was 17th august. Nhs scan one was 13th august. My section was booked for 11th august due to placenta previa. Baby apparlently didn't agree with any of those dates.

@PopGoesBang congrats!

This thread looks like it will soon fill up with babies.

squatternutbosh12 · 02/08/2022 03:16

@PopGoesBang yayyy congratulations, wonderful news! Hope you & baby Imogen are doing well! X

Mufflette · 02/08/2022 07:06

Congratulations @PopGoesBang and welcome baby Imogen! Hope you're both still doing well and heading home soon!

Beth262 · 01/08/2022 21:13

@Magik8ball Yep, I'm done now. 7 days to EDD for me and I feel like this pregnancy is never going to end 😆

😂Me too! Our due dates are the 8th and 9th, I wonder which one of us will be unluckier in how long baby stays put!😂

Magik8ball · 02/08/2022 07:42

Celyn22 · 01/08/2022 21:17

@makingabebe oh my goodness that made me really pissed off hearing what your new consultant said! Does she want to induce you early or plan a C section because of a complication or convenience? Until the 90s 37-44 weeks was considered the safe length of time for pregnancy. Well done for having the courage to stand up for yourself. How many weeks are you now? On another note I’ve not had a rash but I do get itchy when I get hot and I am having a boy... I hadn’t heard that one before!

@mamaof2girls This is our first baby so not sure how we will feel about visitors but I’ve been advised not to make any plans for 3 months, and to stay in our bubble for about a month if possible. I will see how I feel when the time comes, but I’ve asked my partner not to invite anyone to stay or come over (unless they’re prepared to go home at short notice) until labour, as we’ll have a home birth, and then to do the same after birth until I/we feel ready. I just don’t want any commitments that I may have to break.

@ToCaden wow! That must have been a shock! But aww, welcome to the world and lots of love to your son! What was your due date?

@PopGoesBang thinking of you and sending love and trusting that all will be well. Looking forward to hearing an update from you!

@Magik8ball yes I am getting a little impatient as I keep imagining holding him in my arms, although I’m only 35+5 so very happy for him to stay in longer!! It would be nice to be able to take him out for a cuddle and put him back again though...! ;)

All these new babies, inductions etc are making me realise how I haven’t prepared for any last minute unexpected events! Tomorrow is the day to pack a hospital bag just in case!!

Thinking of you all and sending love and baby cuddles xx

Hahaha I was like that at 35 weeks too! Desperately trying to make it to 37 weeks so we can get moving and now 39 desperately wanting to get moving😂

KCat82 · 02/08/2022 09:01

@ToCaden and @PopGoesBang huge congratulations to you both on your new arrivals. Hope they're both doing well, and the mummy's too of course.

I'm in for elective c-section tomorrow - 3 weeks early due to GD and size (big).

CoalCraft · 02/08/2022 13:31

Husband is bringing toddler home from nursery with a temperature, ear infection suspected. So I got precisely one day of rest on my maternity leave 🤦

beckybloomwood11 · 02/08/2022 14:29

Good luck for tomorrow @KCat82 - hope all goes well!

Isonthecase · 02/08/2022 15:52

Oh gosh @KCat82 . How big are they? Hope all goes well 😊

KCat82 · 02/08/2022 17:02

@Isonthecase she was estimated 8lb1oz at 35+5. I don't feel like my bump is representative of that size and I know people say the estimates can be way off so we'll see 😊

AbiGoLucky · 02/08/2022 17:19

@KCat82 good luck for tomorrow, hope everything goes smoothly for you and baby 🙂

madeleine85 · 02/08/2022 18:55

@KCat82 good luck!!

@CoalCraft ahhh toddlers are tiny little balls of plague… I live in fear of what’s to come. Ours catches something at least once a month. We have one week left in this pregnancy and we’re overdue for her latest germ infestation 😂

Mufflette · 02/08/2022 19:55

Good luck @KCat82 very exciting to think baby will be here this time tomorrow!

squatternutbosh12 · 02/08/2022 20:19

Good luck @KCat82 - hope it all goes smoothly! My section is the day after yours! X

CoalCraft · 02/08/2022 21:31

@KCat82 Good luck, how exciting!

@madeleine85 The frustrating thing is while she's had a low level cough/runny nose permanently since starting nursery she's hardly ever properly poorly. I think this is maybe the fourth time she's been sent home ever? So why now 😭 Thankfully it looks like it's not tonsillitis or anything else too bad, just a normal virus, so hoping that with Calpol and cuddles tomorrow she'll be good to go back in Thursday 🤞

ToCaden · 03/08/2022 01:45

Still in hospital sadly. Was going to be discharged yesterday, but they're a little worried about possible edema so staying until tomorrow at least.

Suffering a little as only letting me have paracetamol and ibuprofen. Pain was ok the first day, but not covering it now. Midwife yesterday let me have some oramorph, but seems to depend on who you have on shift.

Getting increasingly little sleep due to pain and ward activity, so looking forward to going home.

KCat82 · 03/08/2022 07:28

Thanks all for the good wishes.

@ToCaden sorry to hear you're suffering. Hope they let you go home soon.

CoalCraft · 03/08/2022 08:00

@ToCaden Sorry to hear that, hope they get you sorted with some proper pain relief and get you home soon x

Isonthecase · 03/08/2022 08:20

@ToCaden the postnatal ward and it's painkiller provision is notoriously awful. Hope you're out soon! Would they let you go up to co codamol?

ToCaden · 03/08/2022 09:02

@Isonthecase nope. Only choices are paracetamol and ibuprofen every six hours (often less as they rely on you to prompt them and can't give it if your midwife is busy. Had over an hour of zero pain relief as midwife was with another patient). Even got told if they give me oramorph (only other solution) it might mean they'll decide not to discharge me.

Just want to go home at this point. Been googling whether I can discharge myself ama if they state the reason as being me having oramorph. (Will ob stay if they decide baby does have an edema issue that would be dangerous to discharge because of).

Getting almost zero sleep here which I imagine is not helping my pain tolerance.

Poppiesz · 03/08/2022 10:50

@Isonthecase I've got some cotton PJs from M&S that are low neck enough for easy breastfeeding. (Personally I couldn't be dealing with faffing about with buttons in the middle of the night!). They worked well last time. Not maternity specifically, I just got them in a size Large. Only £12. Yes I agree re the night sweats (plus the engorged boobs that radiate heat)- I couldn't bear any synthetic clothes last time, just too sticky! Oh the joys 🤣

(I did also have some button up maternity PJs where I just kept the top buttons undone, but found the marks n spencer ones more comfy).

Mufflette · 03/08/2022 16:51

Looks like I'll be adding another to the early August babies! Waters broke today at 37+5 so have been in for a check, now back home hoping for contractions to start and if not then back to start induction tomorrow.

Quite glad to have a little notice to get the house sorted, have a shower etc. And very glad I bought a pack of the maternity puppy pad things, I really thought waters going was an all at once thing but 4 hours later it turns out not so much!

AbiGoLucky · 03/08/2022 16:54

@Mufflette Exciting times! I ended up getting those puppy pads things too as I was convinced my waters would break at work... so glad they didn't but still put the pads down on the sofa and bed just in case 🫣 hope everything goes smoothly for you - is this your first?

madeleine85 · 03/08/2022 16:58

Good luck @Mufflette that is really promising!! Fingers crossed it all goes well for you.

Mufflette · 03/08/2022 22:16

Thanks @AbiGoLucky @madeleine85 yes, first one for me. Really hoping for contractions to kick in before induction but I'm just going with whatever happens from this point!
