@Beth262 it frequently feels like my baby is trying to except via my bum. I don’t remember this at all with my DD. Extremely uncomfortable!

CoalCraft · 01/08/2022 14:35

@ToCaden Good grief that must all have been a shock, but so glad little man is here and safe. Huge congratulations!!

Hope you're doing well too. Were they able to say what caused the bleeding?

ToCaden · 01/08/2022 14:39

@CoalCraft yup. Had placenta previa. Was hoping he'd stay put until section date, but no such luck. So when he decided to come early the placenta started bleeding.

Very dramatic, but everyone stayed calm and I was most of the way asleep to be honest so had all the nurses remarking how calm I was.

beckybloomwood11 · 01/08/2022 14:42

Congrats @ToCaden - that must have been a shock but pleased your baby boy is here now!

CoalCraft · 01/08/2022 14:45

@ToCaden Ah of course! Well done on staying so calm - very impressive! I think anyone would be forgiven for panicking in that situation.

Enjoy your beautiful baby boy xx

Beth262 · 01/08/2022 14:45

@madeleine85 Must be a term/close to term thing as you, @CoalCraft and I all feel the same and are all the preemies!

Wow, congratulations @ToCaden! Glad the hospital were straight on it and baby is well, must have been a head-spinning few hours though.

Good luck @PopGoesBang hope it's not too long before baby makes an appearance!

PopGoesBang · 01/08/2022 15:20

@ToCaden congratulations, hope you are doing ok post section and enjoying those cuddles!

Thank you everyone. Hopefully not too long to go now!

ToCaden · 01/08/2022 13:56

Hi all. Had a pretty easy pregnancy so far. Then woke at 2am bleeding! It was so much that by the time i got to triage they took one look at blood on pad and took me straight to prep for section.

Had an emergency c section and now on labour ward.

He's also 8 pounds 5 at only 38.2 weeks!

@ToCaden congratulations and well done you! Great weight, imagine how big he'd have gotten if you'd gone to 40 weeks! Hope you're resting well now and feeling good. Enjoy your little one xx

Gem2811 · 01/08/2022 16:53

@ToCaden congratulations on your arrival! Glad you managed to keep calm during such a scary situation!

mamaof2girls · 01/08/2022 17:38

@Beth262 yeah I keep having it aswell. I remember with my first she was back to back in Labour and that was what my contraction pains where like it was unbearable really intense on the back end. Hoping it's not going to be the same with this one. Didn't have it with my second she was all front pain and down my leg! X

AbiGoLucky · 01/08/2022 17:59

@ToCaden Aww huge Congratulations!! Sounds like it was all very sudden, glad you and baby are both doing okay!

@CoalCraft Oh I've been getting some stronger Braxton Hicks and had one yesterday while out Tv shopping with the other half 😂 it felt exactly how you've described, like needing the loo. Needless to say we weren't in the shop too long! I do know that baby is very low at the moment though as they couldn't get a head measurement on the last scan because she's too far down... so wondering if it's just putting pressure on certain muscles. I've got nothing to compare it to though so just trying to go with the flow.

Magik8ball · 01/08/2022 21:03

Anyone else starting to feel really impatient?😂
I'm 8 days away from my due date and can't stop googling every indication of labour until I accept that it's not labour😂
But the nerves I haven't had, have started to set in!

Beth262 · 01/08/2022 21:13

@Magik8ball Yep, I'm done now. 7 days to EDD for me and I feel like this pregnancy is never going to end 😆

@makingabebe oh my goodness that made me really pissed off hearing what your new consultant said! Does she want to induce you early or plan a C section because of a complication or convenience? Until the 90s 37-44 weeks was considered the safe length of time for pregnancy. Well done for having the courage to stand up for yourself. How many weeks are you now? On another note I’ve not had a rash but I do get itchy when I get hot and I am having a boy... I hadn’t heard that one before!

@mamaof2girls This is our first baby so not sure how we will feel about visitors but I’ve been advised not to make any plans for 3 months, and to stay in our bubble for about a month if possible. I will see how I feel when the time comes, but I’ve asked my partner not to invite anyone to stay or come over (unless they’re prepared to go home at short notice) until labour, as we’ll have a home birth, and then to do the same after birth until I/we feel ready. I just don’t want any commitments that I may have to break.

@ToCaden wow! That must have been a shock! But aww, welcome to the world and lots of love to your son! What was your due date?

@PopGoesBang thinking of you and sending love and trusting that all will be well. Looking forward to hearing an update from you!

@Magik8ball yes I am getting a little impatient as I keep imagining holding him in my arms, although I’m only 35+5 so very happy for him to stay in longer!! It would be nice to be able to take him out for a cuddle and put him back again though...! ;)

All these new babies, inductions etc are making me realise how I haven’t prepared for any last minute unexpected events! Tomorrow is the day to pack a hospital bag just in case!!

Thinking of you all and sending love and baby cuddles xx

Isonthecase · 01/08/2022 21:34

Bit of a niche question but does anyone have any recommendations for post birth PJ's? I'm looking for some light ones that can button down for breastfeeding, suddenly remembered the night sweats post birth and none of my normal ones will fit 🫣

PopGoesBang · 01/08/2022 21:40

Baby Imogen was born 18.53 after a successful breaking of waters and hormone drip.
First sugars passed with flying colours. She's 6lb10.

Original due date 7/8 but induced due to GDM.

@Isonthecase I went for nightdresses one the end, with low fronts for ease of access - working so far! Also easy to have bottom half out for checks/ whatever they do down there!

LiMc1 · 01/08/2022 22:42

Hi all, sorry I've been quiet. Been quite a stressful week. Managed to get some medication for cholestatis on Tuesday finally- the itching has been driving me mad! Induction booked in for 38 weeks.
Had an unsuccessful sweep Friday, moved house Saturday and went in to start induction process Saturday too.
I'm still at the hospital, had pessary in for 36 hours, gave me contractions 5 mins apart for 3 hours then nothing. Back to square 1. I'm currently waiting for beds to be free so I can be moved to labour ward for my waters to be broken for me. And then hopefully baby will be coming soon!
Mental!

AbiGoLucky · 01/08/2022 22:53

@LiMc1 Oh my days, just been a tad busy then!! Fair play to you for managing all that within a few days.

My mum said she moved house while carrying me three days before I was born, but her silver lining was scaring the removal men... apparently they were moving all her stuff at the speed of lightening every time she had a BH! Always made me chuckle.

Hope everything goes smoothly for you and baby!
