Congratulations @Tacoboutit how's little lady and yourself doing now? So exciting to hear about more births soon.

squatternutbosh12 · 25/07/2022 08:52

10 days to go for me today.. almost into single digits 😱
Feeling uncomfortable, being kicked in the ribs a lot and constant braxton hicks (mine seem to be triggered whenever I get up from sitting or lying, as well as happening at rest for no reason). I thought the BH ramping up might mean baby was trying to come sooner but it’s been like this at least a couple weeks and nothing so I guess not!

Hang in there everyone not long now!!

Our car seat and pram still haven’t arrived despite being ordered weeks ago with a supposed lead time of 7 days - have been on the phone to the website and they just said ’whoops our bad, hope it arrives in time!’ UMM yes so do we!!

I cant remember who asked to see a pic of the nursery but here it is- would be cool to see yours too! Few finishing touches to add but I’m liking how it turned out (even if getting the wallpaper up was an absolute ball ache 🤣)

Looks like you're well prepared @squatternutbosh12 ! We haven't even started on the nursery prep, currently have #2 sleeping in it awaiting his big bed and the baby cot is shoved in a cupboard. More worried about the car seat though which, again, is still in use awaiting the new one to move up in to that we haven't ordered (or even picked out) yet 😅

Unknown6 · 25/07/2022 09:29

😥I have tested positive for covid on Saturday. I'm supposed to have a c-section on Thursday....I'm not sure that will happen now! I managed to avoid it for so long! Feeling really sad 😔

ToCaden · 25/07/2022 09:40

@squatternutbosh12 very nice nursery. You seem prepared which is great.

Only two days of work for me until I'm on maternity, and a chunk of today will be taken up by unknown length hospital appointment (they're rushing to get inperson things squared away before c section date).

37 weeks feels so much more uncomfortable than 36. He's managing to press on my bladder and my ribs at the same time. Little things are taking so much more time and effort than they did. Had to take a break between putting on socks today as it made me so out of breath.

CoalCraft · 25/07/2022 09:44

I'm still technically testing positive and I'm supposed to have a growth scan today 😭 I have no symptoms and the line is suuuper faint but it's there. I'm on day 10/11 now so according to NHS advice I should no longer be contagious but have rung the hospital as would feel awful if I infected someone else. They're going to ring me back saying whether I can go or not.

So fed up of this virus!!

I'm even back in work as that's their policy after 10 days. But at least it's my last week.

Cakecakecheese · 25/07/2022 09:46

@Unknown6 oh no! I hope you get over it quickly and the section doesn't have to be put off for too long.

Unknown6 · 25/07/2022 09:48

@Cakecakecheese , I'm running out of time, I'm 39 weeks on Thursday!

Tacoboutit · 25/07/2022 10:02

Thanks @Delight12 - we’re settling in great. The emotions I’ve been feeling though are something else! I’ve cried a lot, mostly because I’m so happy lol, but it’s tough to deal with. I just remind myself these are just the hormones and are temporary.

@ToCaden I was allowed one visitor a day for 2 hours, but I’m in Northern Ireland. It differs from trust to trust. I found it very difficult not having my partner able to visit for longer 😢

CoalCraft · 25/07/2022 12:29

Nope, no growth scan for me today, stupid virus. I have a consultant appointment tomorrow and apparently they'll just scan me then, but obviously that assumes I finally test negative tomorrow.

Isonthecase · 25/07/2022 12:45

Oh no @Unknown6 not ideal at all! The good news is you won't be the first and they've had 2.5 years to work out what's best to do. I'm sure they can tell you what the best practice is 😊 I know when I had my second they had a COVID isolation unit for mums who were positive and that was late march 2020 so they'd already managed to work something out by then.

SquigsC · 25/07/2022 14:24

Thank you for the advice regarding my baby's head size! I think because this is my first birth I am just freaking out about everything. I had a chat with the hospital psychologist today who has suggested self soothing myself a lot until he arrives. I am now wishing I had opted for an elective c section so I knew exactly what date he is coming...

Tomorrow is officially one week until the due date - and we will all be officially in August! I think there are still some August babies yet to come? @squatternutbosh12 I absolutely love your nursery, it's beautiful! I especially love the chair!

And I'm so sorry to hear about those with COVID :( wishing you all speedy recoveries! My partner and I are very lucky as he works with home and we don't have any other children so are currently in self-isolation to try and avoid getting it. Barely anybody is wearing masks in hospitals etc though so you never know...

Beth262 · 25/07/2022 15:33

@squatternutbosh12 it was me who asked about the nursery 🙂 It looks absolutely lovely, thanks for sharing. Im a massive wallpaper fan but find intricate patterns so much easier as they hide a multitude of slight offsetting sins 😉 Just waiting for DP to put the curtain rail up in ours and I'll share too.

@Unknown6 Oh no, I feel so frustrated amd sad for you, especially avoiding it until now. How are you feeling symptom wise? Hopefully if it's only a mild dose, you'll start testing negative PDQ.

@CoalCraft sorry you're still testing positive. Everything crossed for negative tomorrow so you can get to your consultant appointment and back up scan 🤞

38 weeks for me today! Growth scan tomorrow. Be very interested to see the estimated weight 🙈

I can't believe how far along this group is, so many imminent babies :)

@squatternutbosh12 sorry your car seat still hasn't arrived!! Fingers crossed they send it speedy delivery.

@CoalCraft and @Unknown6 sorry about the covid. Hope its been mild for both of you though and at least fingers crossed the little ones will get a few months of antibodies.

My doctor just tested covid positive on Friday, so i'm guessing she can't go on her holiday she had booked, so might be around if I make it to 36-37 weeks for the c section, though who knows. At this stage i've accepted my complete lack of control over it all! I'm 35 weeks tomorrow, had another night of contractions last night, though he is breech. They hurt like hell, but went away after a few hours and some water. This is the week my DD arrived last pregnancy, so if I make it past this week i'll be the most pregnant i've ever been!

Cakecakecheese · 25/07/2022 18:41

They've moved my induction forward to Monday as they're still concerned about the levels of a couple of things in my blood.

madeleine85 · 25/07/2022 18:54

@Cakecakecheese how many weeks will you be on Monday? Hope you are feeling ok about the induction, and sending all the best wishes your way for a speedy safe delivery! Exciting times :)

PopGoesBang · 25/07/2022 20:30

@Cakecakecheese we could have very closely timed babies! I'm in on Sunday for induction - hoping it's swift but not getting my hopes up too much!
Hope everything goes smoothly for you in the lead up. It's good they are keeping an eye on things.

Cakecakecheese · 25/07/2022 21:43

@madeleine85 I'll be 38 weeks 1 day.

@PopGoesBang ooh good luck with yours, yes it can take a while so fingers crossed things do get going quickly.

madeleine85 · 25/07/2022 22:35

@Cakecakecheese that is really great!!! Fingers crossed for you that it all goes well, please let us know. So exciting that you are so close to meeting your little one!

squatternutbosh12 · 26/07/2022 05:37

Thanks re nursery, gang! ☺️ @Beth262 looking forward to seeing yours too!

@Unknown6 argh so sorry about the covid, have they let you know what the plan is re section? Hope you don’t feel too bad symptoms-wise x

Mega good lucks to everyone with imminent baby arrivals!

CoalCraft · 26/07/2022 06:20

Gosh, exciting that so many babies are imminent!! I'm jealous of you ladies who know a date for inductions/c sections. For me it could be anytime from basically now till another 5-6 weeks if I go over (36+3 today). Good luck with it all, everyone!

Anyone else still getting a lot of baby hiccups? It has calmed down a bit but still happening once or twice a day at least. Episodes do seem to be shorter though.

Beth262 · 26/07/2022 06:53

@CoalCraft Yes, still baby hiccups most days here.

Mufflette · 26/07/2022 07:08

@CoalCraft me too, I'm 36+4 and really want to know if he's staying in for days or over a month!! Having my cervical stitch out tomorrow so there's a small chance that can kick things off but I really hope not... Would love to get to Friday for 37 weeks and have at least one week of maternity leave which should start on Friday too.

Thinking of those of you with COVID, hope you get speedy negatives!

I wonder how many of us will have babies by this time next week, exciting and slightly scary thought!

KCat82 · 26/07/2022 07:39

Hi all. Haven't posted for a while but seen so much activity with arrivals becoming imminent. Very exciting, and quite scary at the same time.
Sorry to those suffering with Covid.

I'm not due until 24th August expected to talk about early induction due to GD.
Turns out our little one is a chunk (according to the diplomatic consultant) and they want her out as close to 37 weeks as poss which is next Weds. eek. I only finish work this coming Friday though I've been told I'll have to go in for a 24 hour stay to have steroid injections (have a section). It's all come around very quickly.

Wishing everyone lots of luck!!! Very exciting times ahead.

Isonthecase · 26/07/2022 09:08

Gosh, this is a lot of babies coming imminently! Anyone else hanging on until the bitter end I'm not expecting mine until very late August so you'll have company 😂
