36 weeks tomorrow! No more aspirin and no progesterone pessaries. Will be really nice to reduce the number of meds/supplements I'm on daily, just have to hope they weren't the only thing keeping labour away!

Have noticed that my fingers and toes have gotten a little swollen. Thought it was just the heat but it's much cooler now, so most likely I'm carrying some extra water.

@Unknown6 Glad you're home and they're keeping a close eye on you xx

Beth262 · 22/07/2022 22:43

@PopGoesBang managed to get 0.2ml 🙂 all labelled up and in the freezer and try again tomorrow. With you on the bag for self, baby, DC1 and dog... have left DP to his own devices too. Mentioned whether he'd need anything and he told me he won't be there that long! He better not think he's dipping into MY snack bag!

@Unknown6 hopefully you'll rest better at home and reassuring for you to know your monitoring is frequent.

@CoalCraft How's the covid? My swollen feet haven't gone down now it's cooler either so defo lots of excess fluid. Think I read somewhere we're carrying an extra 12 pints?! This is all new to you and I with our preemies! And I bet you're so glad to be rid of those awful bum bullets. I certainly was!

@Unknown6 that is great, so glad for you!! Hope you get some R&R in your own bed.

@PopGoesBang that sounds like you are really close! Despite knowing that we have 2.5 weeks at the most to go, my DH has commented on packing a bag... but hasn't actually done it. Helpful, since the last time we had my DD his bag was in the car, which was in the garage for 3 weeks being serviced. 🙄. Clearly my OH will never learn.

PopGoesBang · 23/07/2022 07:28

Nice amount for first go @Beth262!

Things settled out again last night, Altho pretty sure my mucus plug has come away now. Feels like there's always something to be watching out for!

@Unknown6 hope you had a good night at home and got some much needed rest.

Glad also to see it's not only my dP who needs nothing! As long as the laptop with his football manager stays at home it'll all be fine!!

Cakecakecheese · 23/07/2022 08:40

Glad you're out @Unknown6

I almost got admitted to hospital with my BP yesterday. I went for an appointment to get it checked at 3.30pm, massive delays so got seen just before 5. They said it was too high and kept checking it and giving me pills. They said they were going to check it one last time at 8pm and if it was still high I'd have to stay in. It went down and I could finally leave. Having it checked again today.

ToCaden · 23/07/2022 10:05

37 weeks today!!! It's coming up fast.

Last week of work next week, then I'm going to move in with my mother in preperation for c section (mostly to settle in the cats before the next big change of their little brother). My 10 month kitten is pretty adaptable so will be fine. Hoping my 15 year old cat will also settle in.

The layout of my house means it'll be difficult to navigate for couple weeks after c section, so can't avoid the move.

He's so big now and is back to being high up. There's been a bit of him poking under my ribs the last couple days. Ouch.

Looking like we'll get a few new babies in this thread soon. Good luck guys.

CoalCraft · 23/07/2022 10:13

@Beth262 The covid is lasting longer than I thought tbh :( It's not bad, just a runny nose with occasional sore throat, but I wanna be able to leave the house guilt free! Tested again this morning though and the line was suuuper faint (if it had been a pregnancy test I'd have said "hmm, test again on a few days 😂 ) so fingers crossed I'm nearly at the end of it.

And yes I'm so, so glad to be rid of the pessaries. Such unpleasant things to use! But if they helped then great I guess!

@Cakecakecheese Sounds like a stressful afternoon/evening, glad you were able to come home.

I think I'm gonna have to sit DH down and adjust his expectations about labour. My last was very very short so now he's under the impression they're all like that and yesterday he said "it'd be handy if you went into labour at night because then we could just call sil to come round, sneak out and be back before DD1 wakes up in the morning" 🤨

Cakecakecheese · 23/07/2022 11:21

@CoalCraft yeah he needs to stop it as he's jinxing you to have a really long labour! Hopefully it won't be but all births are different so like you say there's no guarantee it'll be the same as the last one.

My blood pressure was much better today but obviously they've found something else to be worried about! They're now concerned about some of my blood test results, the platelets and liver function, so they took some more blood and I'm back there tomorrow to see what the deal is.

Isonthecase · 23/07/2022 13:36

@CoalCraft my second one was like that! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Isonthecase · 23/07/2022 13:41

@Cakecakecheese seems to go that way, you go in for one thing and come out with a list 😂 I remember having a blood test for low iron at around 38 weeks and it basically came back red for about 6 things, straight on to appointment with the haematologist and referral to just about everything plus I then got a mild cold I had to call 111 for and they sent out an ambulance, twice. None of it caused me any issues but it was a real hassle at the time!

ToCaden · 23/07/2022 18:22

I'm glad you guys are being well monitored and taken care of.

Thankfully haven't had too many hiccips myself, aside from this placenta issue not resolving itself and needing a c section, and a GD scare that didn't come to anything.

I do wish he'd stop snuggling into my ribs though. Painful. Think he might be breech again as he's under my ribs constantly. He did a huge alien movement after I had an internal placenta scan (he was wonderfully head down at the time, so much so the scanner had to move his head out of the way which he did not like). And since then he feels too high up and keeps getting caught on my ribs.

Any bets as to who thinks they'll be next to give birth?

I feel like we need to have a birth order list for our group with baby names or nicknames for those not happy sharing names.

SquigsC · 23/07/2022 18:41

Hi all!

Sorry for the silence, I think the last time I was here I was complaining about dizziness and somebody suggested low blood pressure - I can't remember who but you were absolutely right. I had my 38 week midwife appointment on Monday and I was told my BP was low and to take it easy. That with the heat was really horrid. I am on maternity and want to be tidying and nesting but being on my feet for too long makes me feel grim.

I also had a growth scan where the baby's head was measured to be in the 90th centile. As it's my first birth I am really nervous! Has anybody delivered a bigger head before and any advice would be appreciated :)

It's been lovely to read through this thread and hear of babies being born and babies almost ready to arrive. It's hard to believe after all of the worry, anxiety, and the aches and pains - babies are finally here!

beckybloomwood11 · 23/07/2022 18:44

@ToCaden I was thinking we should bring back the dates list - with due dates or planned arrival dates for those who have them. I think I'll be one of the last as I'm not due until the end of August! Excited to see the thread fill up with everyone's arrivals!

I think head size is not so much of an issue as it's so squishy (like disturbingly!) 😅it's more shoulder positioning that makes it tricky!

Poppiesz · 23/07/2022 19:06

@SquigsC yes I wouldn't worry too much about the sizings that they estimate - it's all very much an estimate. An older more experienced midwife explained when this happened to me that literally being a few mm out makes the difference between an average and a large head.
Every pregnancy my babies have followed the 90th centile or above and there's been discussions of a 10 or 11lb plus baby!! 😳 But then my babies have actually come out at 8.5lbs or so. Same thing happening this pregnancy, feels a bit scaremongering tbh, but this time I'm taking it all with a large pinch of salt. Hope that's helpful x

ToCaden · 23/07/2022 19:50

@SquigsC as others have said try not to worry. Baby heads are scarily squishy and flexible as the bones in the skull don't fuse until later. So even if baby does end up having a big head, you're more likely to see them emerge with a squished head as a concequence than anything.

A friend just had a rather big baby, and poor thing has a cone shaped head due to delivery (which don't worry will normalise as baby grows).

Isonthecase · 23/07/2022 20:30

@SquigsC agree on the cone head, you'd be amazed at the shapes they can go into 😂

I agree with the birth order list! I think that would be nice to look at. It would be quite informative too, if we added due dates and birth dates.

Magik8ball · 24/07/2022 11:39

37+5 today, other than what can be viewed as my system flushing itself out with vomiting during silly hours of the morning😂 I don't feel any closer.
I know he's in the correct position, and has been for quite a while now but I'm waiting on my 38 week appointment to give me some insight as it feels quite abstract when you have no clue when the baby will arrive😂

PopGoesBang · 24/07/2022 13:06

38 weeks today. Apart from a few odd tightenings and feeling like I can't do anything without needing a nap, no signs of any arrival!

Dd now in school holidays so a few gentle home based activities with walks this week and no matter what else happens this time next week I'll be in hospital hopefully having started the induction process or be very close to starting it.

From those early days in December it seems like a whole lifetime ago!

Hope everyone is doing ok x

Beth262 · 24/07/2022 16:11

38 weeks for me tomorrow and another one who hasn't got any signs of an impending arrival - despite those two positive pre term labour tests 9 and 7 weeks ago! Like, what?! Already feel weeks overdue despite only actually just hitting term as a result.

Very swollen feet (which are sore to touch), occasional tightenings/contractions with no regularity and dead weight tired. Not that there's any time to rest running around after a 2.5yo....

OP posts:
SantiagoSister · 24/07/2022 16:26

Another one here with no signs of an impending arrival unfortunately! 38+3 today, apart from horrendously swollen feet/legs/hands (sore to touch too @Beth262!) and major tiredness, I feel pretty normal (as normal as is possible for nearly 9 months pregnant of course 😂). I have noticed today that my lips look randomly more full (I normally have zero top lip!), which I read somewhere is an old wives tale that labour could be imminent.. let’s hope so! Hope everyone else is doing ok, hopefully not long now until we all meet our babies 🥰

ToCaden · 24/07/2022 16:29

Anyone have any recent experience of visiting rules after birth /c section?

Beth262 · 24/07/2022 16:35

@SantiagoSister glad it's not just mine that are sore to touch with the swelling so thank you... I was wondering if I needed to worry!

Morning all!

i haven’t checked in a little while, hope you’re all doing well!
my due date is 1st August so exactly a week from now and let me tell you - I have exactly zero signs of anything happening/coming. No pains, no aches, no pressure, not even swollen or tired. Haven’t had a show, and don’t even think I’ve had BH! It’s all quite odd, considering how close I’m getting. My next MW appointment is next Monday so really hoping if nothing has changed they can do something to get things going for me. 🤞🏻
