@Tacoboutit HUGE congratulations 🥰 soak up every moment.

LiMc1 · 19/07/2022 20:58

Ah another birth! Congratulations!

So my update from the tests for pre-eclampsia, I don't have it but do have cholestatis so rather itchy!
Means that I'll be having stretch and sweep on 26th and induction on 30th if no movement. So my original due date of 13th August is way off! Typical!
Will be joining baby arrivals soon !

madeleine85 · 19/07/2022 21:05

@squatternutbosh12 thanks for the reply. I really am not sure what the "can insist/can't in the US is on C sections", I think that if I push for it, I will probably be given one, but it helps if I talk to the right doctor. My general take on it right now is that doctors here are very "my practice has this mentality", but the main doctor will be away the week of delivery, I won't see the younger one for another 2 weeks, as the older one wants to handle me until she leaves, so i'll be in delivery week at the point I can have the real delivery discussion. When I went for another fluid measurement scan today the sonographer said he is still breach and unlikely to flip as there is such low fluid that it will be very hard for him. So odds are now in my favour that it will be granted through one method or another. I think if i was being offered an indiuction at 39 weeks it would feel very different vs 36 or so, and I don't want to stress the baby out, knowing that my DD spent 3 weeks in the NICU, any day that I can cut off that time by any means, i'm willing to do. I hate having to plead my case, i'm just not a pushy person in general, but there's no point in trying for another 2 weeks, assuming i'm even allowed to go that far. The low fluid is back down to 5 cm today, and it was 7 last week after a few rounds of IV fluids. If it keeps reducing they will probably get him out sooner. Currently drinking so much water that I feel like a damn camel :)

@theotherfossilsister that is incredible to get from 29 to almost 35 weeks, and also that your little one grew (mind blown at that)!! Well done you! Can I ask if you have been doing anything that you think has been helping? My doctor basically said if it is a placenta issue that nothing will change really, but i'm chugging water, eating so much protein that I feel like the rock, and trying to get good sleep. Basically i'll do whatever I can, even if that isn't much.

@PopGoesBang make sure you have an extra long phone charger, best advice i've been given when it's come to hospitals. The wall sockets are rarely within 6 ft of the bed, when they even work :)

CoalCraft · 20/07/2022 06:42

Ah it's so exciting to see more babies starting to arrive. Another week and they'll be coming thick and fast I'm sure 💕

Cakecakecheese · 20/07/2022 09:48

Today's growth scan showed some actual growth! So that's good. The latest thing is that the amniotic fluid had reduced, although it's still a normal amount and it seems they can't decide whether to be concerned about that or not! I'm seeing a consultant tomorrow so I'll see what she says. It does look like I won't be induced just yet though.

Unknown6 · 20/07/2022 16:34

@Tacoboutit, so happy to hear baby Taco has arrived safely, you were mine and @SantiagoSister due date buddy! I wonder who is next, we both predicted end of this week. Did you get any other signals labour was going to start other than "the show?"
Are you still in hospital? Anything specific you recommend taking to the hospital that was forgotten?

SantiagoSister · 20/07/2022 17:01

Ahh I hope we are both still right with our predictions @Unknown6! Although as the week goes on I feel surprisingly normal and no symptoms of impending labour at all unfortunately, so I may very well be wrong 😂

Tacoboutit · 20/07/2022 17:30

@Unknown6I know and I was booked in for an elective c section on 28th July and didn’t think she’d make an early appearance!

No other signals at all, I was out for a walk and lunch earlier that day. Just some pink when I wiped at the toilet and an hour later my waters broke.

In terms of hospital bag, a handheld fan was my number 1 used item. I also found the incontinence disposable pants a godsend over big knickers and a pad - pads come out the side of knickers and wearing a nightdress, it can leave a horrible mess on the bed. A nice shower gel because you are completely stinking especially in that heat in a hospital. Other than those nothing really stands out. I do have to say the toast and tea everyone raves about was utter crap lol so bring snacks too!

theotherfossilsister · 20/07/2022 17:42

Baby is being delivered tomorrow. Huge shock but he's stopped growing. I'm thirty four+6 today. We have a private room and c sec is tomorrow first thing unless something changes overnight

I just knocked orange squash all over the bed though

madeleine85 · 20/07/2022 17:50

@theotherfossilsister crossing everything for you for a safe and speedy delivery. If they say they have to go get him re. growth, then it must be time. You've done so well to get this far! Please let us know how you get on and I hope you get another orange juice :) x

beckybloomwood11 · 20/07/2022 18:29

@theotherfossilsister oh that must be a shock! Hoping all goes well for you tomorrow x

theotherfossilsister · 20/07/2022 18:30

Thank you so much

I have a full jug of orange juice now and am trying to stay positive. Feel a bit on brink though. Wonder if they can give me anything to calm down

ToCaden · 20/07/2022 18:38

@theotherfossilsister it's worth asking. Must be a big shock, but glad you're somewhere they can take good care of you and baby.

theotherfossilsister · 20/07/2022 18:43

Thank you @ToCaden

I remember you from earlier threads, were you on the November/December IVF embryo transfer too or am I totally misremembering? Familiarity is nice right now x

Gem2811 · 20/07/2022 19:10

@theotherfossilsister good luck for tomorrow!

PopGoesBang · 20/07/2022 19:10

@theotherfossilsister definitely ask and let them know how you are feeling.
Hope all goes well and that you are on the other side of this soon.

I had a weird dream last night about having my millionth wee and when I wiped it had a pink tinge to it... now I've seen @Tacoboutit say that was the only lead up, I'll be on the arch even more now!

ToCaden · 20/07/2022 19:25

theotherfossilsister · 20/07/2022 18:43

Yes. Good memory too as I'd forgotten, but my embryo transfer did take place in late november so would make sense.

Crazy to think of the journey to get here.

Mufflette · 20/07/2022 19:55

@theotherfossilsister good luck, will be thinking of you tomorrow.

35 weeks was always my 'if I get to that it's ok' point (have been stalking the Tommy's page on 'babies born at week x' since 22 weeks...) so baby has done well to hang on til then!

I always meant to say how much I love your username btw, hope baby is a Petrova 😉

Beth262 · 20/07/2022 20:20

@theotherfossilsister Glad they are taking care of you, though must be a big shock to be having a section tomorrow given baby had been growing. Will be thinking of you 💕

@theotherfossilsister Wishing you all the best? It's completely understandable that you're feeling anxious and a bit overwhelmed so just try to be kind to yourself xx

theotherfossilsister · 20/07/2022 23:11

Thank you everyone. I'm going to try to get some sleep xx

CoalCraft · 21/07/2022 05:56

Hope you are now sleeping peacefully and everything goes well today xx
