@Tacoboutit , @SantiagoSister , we are super close! Let's hope they avoid Monday and Tuesday next week as don't fancy the hospital on the hottest dates ever in the UK.
@Tacoboutit, I was originally booked in for the 28th but I was moved to the 2nd, so just be aware the date might be more fluid than you think. I have been told I might get brought forward but shouldn't be pushed out again.

I think we know our bodies so I wouldn't be surprised If we are right @SantiagoSister

My growth scan was interesting I have a bubba with quite long legs, hopefully she will be taller than me when she is older as I'm quite short lol.

Tacoboutit · 15/07/2022 09:19

@SantiagoSister hey due-date buddy! Like unknown’s baba, yours sounds like a lovely weight. I’m definitely glad I’m booked in for a section after hearing the weight of mine 😂 although I know it’s not always accurate. Hope you get a date secured soon but it’ll be so interesting to see if you both go early and your intuitions are right! X

SantiagoSister · 15/07/2022 10:33

@Unknown6 I was thinking the same, it’s meant to be 37C where I am on Monday/Tuesday so really would not want to be labouring in that if possible! 🥵 that’s so cute you have a long legged bubba, I’m short and my partner is average height so I’m not holding out for a tall child here, although he does have a big belly on his scans like daddy 😂

@Tacoboutit ah thank you! I would absolutely feel the same in your shoes, at least you can relax a little knowing you will be having a section, you’ve grown a little whopper in there it seems - so lovely 🥰 it will be interesting to see if they are right about their weight when they arrive!

Fingers crossed for a slightly early arrival this end, maybe towards the end of next week when it’s cooled down a bit would be nice! Will be intrigued to know if our feelings were right or not!

I'm taller than average and so is my partner, but our scans have shown our little one is below average in femur length😂😂😂
I doubt it'll stay that way as he grows though

On Tuesday I'll be 37 weeks so I'm going to assume he won't have arrived by then but it's too hot for them anyway!

Welcome @Ymamiss we'd have been due date buddies with your original EDD. Im 8 August too.

My original EDD was 8th of August but changed to 9th at one of the Ultrasounds 😁

SquigsC · 15/07/2022 13:54

Hey all! Strange question but - is anybody struggling with showers? I feel like I can't breathe when I'm in the shower, get dizzy, and need to sit down so I think I am just going to have to move to baths now...

I did have low iron but apparently that's fine now so perhaps it's the heat?

squatternutbosh12 · 15/07/2022 13:58

Another with big belly and little femurs here 😂 though as many of you have said- only if the scans are accurate! It seems even a millimetre or two discrepancy causes a big shift in estimates of weight/centiles so who even knows 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

my consultant said there’s a sizeable margin of error “because it’s a human measuring a human inside a human” which I thought was a great way of putting it 😆

Cakecakecheese · 15/07/2022 15:47

@squatternutbosh12 that is a good way of looking at it. There's been a bit of concern about my baby's growth but he is in a really difficult position for them to measure so that can't be helping.

squatternutbosh12 · 15/07/2022 16:46

@Cakecakecheese yeah position does make a big difference too. I’m glad they’re keeping an eye- are they concerned about too much or not enough growth? Sorry you’ve probably said which before but my brain is like a sieve these days! Either way definitely worth keeping in mind the potential for scans to be wrong x

SantiagoSister · 15/07/2022 17:55

@Magik8ball @Beth262 @squatternutbosh12 I find that so sweet that all our babies have their little quirks with their scan measurements, big bellies, little legs 😂 as you all rightly say though, the scans are known to be quite inaccurate and I’m sure they’ll all be perfectly proportioned when they arrive! The way your consultant described it really makes sense doesn’t it @squatternutbosh12.

@SquigsC maybe it is down to the heat as you say? I’ve been having tepid showers the last few days, they’re the only thing that really cool me down for a little while. Hope you manage find a solution as it’s horrible to feel dizzy.

Cakecakecheese · 15/07/2022 18:40

@squatternutbosh12 he's measuring average but the concern is he hadn't grown very much at all in the 2 weeks between growth scans.

mamaof2girls · 15/07/2022 19:23

Sorry for asking this but has anyone else experience a lot more bowel movement I have been on the toilet 3 times today already and noticed the last few days etc I have been aswell and normally I can go. Few days without anything? X

Unknown6 · 15/07/2022 19:30

@SquigsC , when was the last time you took your BP. It might be high or low if you are feeling dizzy.

madeleine85 · 15/07/2022 20:35

I just had my consultant scan and follow up from last week's restricted growth panic admission to hospital. Little guy is still very little, but they want to keep him in for now. They still see good placenta blood flow, even if the nutrients he's getting aren't great, and the amniotic fluid has increased so that is good. Measuring around 2 weeks behind, and 3lbs 9oz at 33+3. Head and legs are ok sized (25% ish), but belly still tiny (which is actually good as his brain is ok). Still breach and most likely a c section by 36-37 weeks. I thought I had contractions last night, and my milk has started coming in, so if we make it there I will be very pleasantly surprised! Overall it was actually a positive doctors visit, and at this early stage every day he stays in is a good thing :). Hope you're all doing well, it is so nice to see people getting to full term here!

SantiagoSister · 15/07/2022 21:02

Yes I’ve been having the same @mamaof2girls, it started last Monday and I was going to the toilet many times a day when it’s usually just once for me, very weird! It’s calmed down a little now but still going more than usual. I was hoping it was a sign of labour approaching but doesn’t seem to the case for me yet!

That’s great to hear @madeleine85, I’m really pleased they are keeping a close eye on him and are happy to keep him in at the moment with his good blood flow and fluid levels. Will keep my fingers crossed for you he can stay in for a few more weeks until your section!

squatternutbosh12 · 15/07/2022 23:04

@mamaof2girls @SantiagoSister yes weirdly I’ve been having more/looser bowels too which has been weird as I’m usually so constipated. It kinda put me on high alert to start with as it can be a sign of labour approaching as you said but nothing untoward seems to be happening yet so just keeping an eye on it! I have been having some period like pains too though & lots of braxtons and lightning crotch so am feeling a little on edge! I’m sure it’s nothing but doesn’t hurt to be prepared I guess..

mamaof2girls · 16/07/2022 07:10

@squatternutbosh12 @SantiagoSister yeah am just keeping a eye on it aswell but I have been a lot sore etc and also been experiencing the period cramping and stuff aswell on and off through out the day. But my only worry is am only 34 weeks so really wasn't expecting to experience stuff like that right now! X

CoalCraft · 16/07/2022 20:47

It's so hot in my room that my progesterone pessaries are going all melty 😬

Gonna have to start keeping them in the fridge

ToCaden · 17/07/2022 11:24

Keep safe over next few days. Tomorrow is supposed to be 36 degrees here! Working that day so going to see if I can have my fan blowing straight into my face all of the work day. Maybe have my feet in a bowl of water under the desk.

I also get to find out my c section date monday which is exciting!

RP90 · 17/07/2022 11:29

I'm not looking forward to the heat the next few days either. Get those ice lollies in ladies and those feet elevated!

I'm having a morning of organising babies room. Feel quite overwhelmed by it all. No idea where to put things. Maybe I can just have a sneaky nap instead!

PopGoesBang · 17/07/2022 13:11

37 weeks today! Over tired and over hot emotional mess. My dps so lucky!

We've just done a car seat base fit in the car and tested the seat in it, we suddenly thought of everything does kick off we probably don't want to be faffing with that and not knowing what we are doing. Thankfully it seemed pretty straight forward. Although massive!

2 weeks until induction, although last night brought some interesting twinges and back ache, genuinely thought things might be kicking off but think I just over did it during the day.

Hope everyone is managing to keep some sort of cool. We'll be the bunch that always go 'remember summer of 2022, hottest on record, yeah pregnant during that'.

CoalCraft · 17/07/2022 13:41

Thankfully we're only predicted up to 33 here, and I'll be in the glorious air conditioned office (never been so excited to go to work lol). Still not looking forward to coming home and trying to sleep that night though.

I've also developed another cold... Why!!? Made for an uncomfortable night last night, snuffling and sniffing with muscle aches as well as the heat 😟

miltonj · 17/07/2022 16:03

Every time I come on this thread I'm expecting someone else to have had their baby, but no!! Any day now I reckon and things will start happening for some of us.
