Hello everyone! I’ve been here since the start but not posted for ages. Just caught up on everything.

So nice to see our babies coming already! Doesn’t feel like long ago that we joined this group. I’m due on 8th July - I think she’ll stay in until then, I’ve not had any signs so far.

@beetree1 I’m looking at my snack options now too. I seem to think oat based snacks are a good idea?! Slow release energy and I read good for milk supply (might not be scientifically accurate). So I’m getting bits like flapjacks, oatcakes, protein balls, hobnobs. Also some coconut water and lucozade. Husband can sort his own snacks out!

Wishing everyone a happy birth experience in the coming weeks! Ahhh!!!

Coco9910 · 27/06/2022 21:38

@beetree1 I’ve got some Lucozade Sports, jelly babies, nutrigrains, mini cheddars, fruit winders and just pa led from ginger but biscuits incase I feel sick. I’d rather take too much than not enough 😅 Feel like I need some more nutritious snacks!

beetree1 · 27/06/2022 22:05

I’m relieved to hear your not all going for lots of healthy snacks 😅

GrowBabyGrow · 27/06/2022 23:24

Definitely go for high energy snacks that will bring you some joy! I've gone for red and black fruit pastilles as one of my snacks - they are my favourite flavour so figured might as well get those rather than DH rooting through a regular bag for them 😅

I've also loaded my freezer with fruit juice ice lollies for when I'm labouring at home.

SamanthaVimes · 28/06/2022 06:20

@GrowBabyGrow I’ve gone for black and red fruit pastilles too! They’re the best ones 😆

missv556 · 28/06/2022 08:46

@beetree1 I have lucozade sport, some sesame seed crackers and a bar of tonys chocolonely (caramel sea salt flavour). I need to get some nature valley bars too actually so glad you've asked about snacks as it's reminded me. Wondering if maybe I need more snacks but there is a shop in the main part of the hospital if I need more or more can be brought in for me if I have an extended stay

JJ1992 · 28/06/2022 10:09

@NamelessBaby1 @Hope3821 so its maybe just that baby has moved position? Could defintiely be that! We also had a very busy weekend (last one) and are mid decorating, so ive been shattered! Maybe baby was too. Since my little freak out yesterday the movements seem to be normal again. Funny though when I am doing too much its like my body just gives me a little nudge to slow down one way or another.

Midwife said about lucozade sport too, also I think the bottles come in handy after labour too! 😬 We havent bought our snacks yet because I know I'll just eat them all early 😂 maybe should get on it soon! The fruit pastilles are sounding lovely right now. Gonna be a home bargains job I think 😄👌

Had a midwife appointment this morning and baby seemed to drop right before. Very light sharp pain about 3 seconds. Confirmed by midwife! So luckily moving the right direction. 38 weeks exactly today.

So fed up now. Feel like an absolute whale, can't sleep, struggling with basic getting around and tasks and just generally bored. Anyone else feeling like this? Just really impatient to have my baby in my arms and start recovering physically. I want my body back!!

MoiraRoseIsMyQueen · 28/06/2022 10:57

@MollyRover I absolutely sympathise, sleep has been a nightmare this week. I’m 38 weeks today as well, and been getting horrible round ligament pains at about 4am every morning, have to get up and walk around and then that’s basically it for my sleep! My ribs are mega sore as well when I’m lying on my side unless I get into one exact position when they don’t hurt.

I’m so glad Wimbledon has started to keep me slightly occupied, but I am also very bored - struggling to do much cleaning or sorting which is what I want to be doing, but I’m just too knackered! But, I don’t think I’m close yet, no show or other signs so I guess it’s just a case of hanging on in there 🥴

MollyRover · 28/06/2022 11:18

@MoiraRoseIsMyQueen Flowers to you, sick of whingeing in my own head, hope we both deliver soon xx

strawberrysummer19 · 28/06/2022 12:05

I'm feeling this!

Although I'm only 36wks But I'm super uncomfortable and she does feel low
I don't think I'm going to make my induction in 3 wks time! But we shall see

I was up hourly for a wee last night
For months it's been 2-3 hrs which I can cope with!
Sore ribs, sore left side, sore bump
I so want to be at 39wks!

I have my growth scan later today - I've also had little movements today and last night so im glad I have my scan
She's been soooo active the last week or so really powerful movements but it's like she's changed position
Can still feel her they just feel muffled in a way

X

laurenGame · 28/06/2022 12:06

I checked into hospital today (evening here), induction starts tomorrow 7am for my epidural. Obstetrician came to check my cervix said I'm 3cm dilated so he won't give me gel, will just break my waters tomorrow at 7am.

I am so scared I'm not religious but pray for me please Sad cervix check was painful and left me shaken up a bit. I'm petrified to go through labour.

Nurse gave me 2 temazepam for sleep, hoping to get some rest.

MoiraRoseIsMyQueen · 28/06/2022 12:19

Oh @laurenGame that sounds stressful! Do you mind me asking why you’re being induced? Remember, you have the right to informed consent - you don’t have to say yes to anything. If you want to stop at any time, or have a break, you can (obvs dependent on any health conditions that are requiring induction!) What is it that’s scaring you about labour at the moment?

JJ1992 · 28/06/2022 12:27

@laurenGame will say a wee prayer for you, you've started dilating thats so excited!
I hope you have good support around about you.
Baby is coming 😁 just try to remember what all this is for ❤️

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 28/06/2022 12:33

I’m with you ladies.. 38+4 today and ready to have this baby lol had my first sweep this morning wasn’t too bad now doing some cleaning trying to stay as active as possible booked in for another one Friday morning at 39 weeks if nothing has happened by then 🤞🏻🤞🏻

KizboBaggins · 28/06/2022 12:36

@Fizzybubblegumbottles fingers crossed for you! Were you given a sweep early for medical reasons, or is this standard for people at 38 weeks? Trying to work out if I'll be having them or not. Still got a week until I see my midwife again - time feels like it's dragging while everyone is getting induced!

@laurenGame sending you positive vibes - you are going to be amazing and it will all be worth it once little one is with you!

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 28/06/2022 12:41

@KizboBaggins thank you! I had eclamptic fits in my first pregnancy had an EMCS. My 2nd everything was fine consultant led but didn’t get offered a sweep till 40 weeks. This one has been fine so far under consultant again and said I can start having them from 38 weeks. How far are you? Hopefully can discuss and sort out at your next appointment x

KizboBaggins · 28/06/2022 13:08

@Fizzybubblegumbottles ooo interesting! I'm 36+1 so still a way to go yet. I see the midwife dead on 37 weeks so will ask her about sweeps. Feel like I'm becoming very impatient now! I've got 3 more days left at work too... can't wait to be where you are! I should stop wishing it away though. I'll miss my bump once it's gone I think.

Hope you feel some movement before Friday! 🤞🏼

Hope3821 · 28/06/2022 13:10

@laurenGame Oh that sounds really stressful. Are they helping you with emotional support too? You need all the oxytocin (the happy cuddle hormone) you can get, my dad suggested watching lots of cute puppy and kitten videos on Youtube to help me feel better when I'm feeling stressed about labour. It's completely normal though to feel the way you do, so take it easy on yourself. Sending positive vibes! ❤

@JJ1992 It could be and it could be that you're super busy you don't feel her as much if you're moving about. My midwife told me that, I said my girl was super active when I had covid a month ago, she said it was probably because I was sitting/lying and not doing much so I could feel her more. I'm 36+4 and I feel like her movements have definitely changed, not as kicky or punchy, although sometimes in the morning I can feel her having hiccups it's so cute. But definitely go in if you're EVER worried at all, chances are you'll get loads of movement the second you're with the sonographer and you'll all have a laugh and you'll feel better. Pregnancy is sooooooo stressful, so much to think about!!

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 28/06/2022 13:24

@KizboBaggins it will go so fast! Hope you enjoy your last few days at work. I finished on Friday at 38 weeks so been on mat leave 2 days lol. You will miss it lol I know I shouldn’t wish mine away but can’t wait to find out if it’s a boy or girl. Thank you me too even though I won’t hold my breath it’s been stubborn the whole pregnancy 🤣 x

MollyRover · 28/06/2022 15:31

Best of luck for tomorrow @laurenGame , hopefully in the next 24 hours it will all be behind you and you will have your beautiful baby in your arms xx

strawberrysummer19 · 28/06/2022 18:15

Just had my growth scan - measuring 6lbs3 at 36wks with long legs apparently!

But, I don't feel reassured
Feel I've been anxious this pregnancy enough and trying not to worry over reduced movements / sore bump etc

Anyway the sonographer asked if I had been leaking fluid? Said no. Then she said it had moved and had to find it again. Then she said something about the placenta aging ? And she showed us some grainy parts
I asked if this was all ok as she didn't sound concerned! And was asking 'have you a name' and ' are you having anymore ' just waiting on maternity for the paperwork and to be plotted but thinking about it I don't feel reassured at all

I will ask the midwife who is plotting our graph but has anyone else had this experience?

Xx

KizboBaggins · 28/06/2022 18:27

@strawberrysummer19 oh bless you, I'm sorry I don't have any experience with that but I would feel exactly the same as you. Surely the sonographer would've said if there was something to be concerned about? But I know that doesn't ease your worry. Hope you hear from the midwife soon 🤞🏼

strawberrysummer19 · 28/06/2022 18:31

@KizboBaggins yeah we thought the same
She was all bouncy and when I asked all ok she did say yes but it's just sitting here in maternity triage waiting for the paperwork. I'm sat here thinking .....didn't like hearing aging placenta! And not finding the fluid 😬but yes sure she would have said

Hate this anxious feeling - roll on induction x

laurenGame · 28/06/2022 18:57

Thank you for nice messages, they've made me weep 😭 my family are all overseas so only have husband here. My mum said she'd rather not know when I've gone into labour (she'd rather know afyer or she'll worry too much) so I haven't told her.
I'm so surprised with myself I'm usually so tough emotionally (too tough at times) so this has thrown me completely.

@MoiraRoseIsMyQueen that's a good question why I'm scared. The cervix check was painful and felt like I was being torn inside a bit (bled after) so my brain has just gone into panic mode and feel like it just sends me signals I'm in danger. I've been awake since 1am even after 2 temazepams.
Don't mind you asking at all - I'm getting induced (elective) as obstetrician recommended it - he said after 39 weeks there's no advantage for baby to stay in the womb and that complications can arise esp 40-41 weeks. He also specialises in prolapse reconstructive surgery so said it's usually cases of 40+ weeks. I wasn't sure what to do really Confused so in the end decided to trust him and went with his suggestion. Mum advised me to trust my doctor and all that.

@Hope3821 thank you , really good idea aboit puppies watch. I also have a lot of babies pages on insta, they make me swoon so will look at them now Smile

4am here, epidural booked for 7am so count down is on. 💗
