Hi ladies

So lovely to see all the births coming in!!

So....I was tempted to post to ask about movements at this gestation - I'm 38+3
All has been ok the last 2 weeks apart from since Tuesday when I had my growth scan (all ok just fluids on lower side but all ok) I'm sure they've slowed down. She's been like this throughout! I've been in for monitoring sooo many times! But each time is fine, funny thing is sometimes she's moving on the scan but I still can't feel them! I've had weekly scans since 36wks as under consultant and due to my fluids etc but as I say all has been ok. Growth is good.

Also last night I was staring at my belly thinking please move as I can't stand this worry the last few days (getting induced Wednesday) and I could actually see my belly moving ! Just wouldn't have made me stop to realise and actually feel them!

So since writing this post, I can feel her wriggling around !

I think because my first was soooo active
Kept me awake, night and early morning but this one I have to get up, eat something and sit down before I feel her

Roll on Wednesday!

X

@MollyRover congratulations - bet you are so relieved going down the C-section route
What an actual cutey pie x

JJ1992 · 15/07/2022 10:51

@Gaily82 @Mattieandmummy and @MollyRover congratulations on your little babies 🥰🥰 yesterday was a busy day for you guys!

@strawberrysummer19 you made quick work of the cot! I still dont have anything for downstairs sleeping! Planning on using the pram basinet I think!
My movements are quite sporadic too, have anterior placenta and dont always have a definite pattern.
That being said Ive noticed in the past week baby seems to wake up when I do? Like when I get up for the toilet overnight Im guaranteed to feel a few little rolls. Wondering if the flush is waking them 😂 that or they're actually waking me! Nice to think of them being more like a little person.
Increased my walk yesterday to try and get a bit more movement in like you guys were saying. Love a podcast for keeping the mind distracted while out alone.. Highly recommend' shagged married annoyed' has me in fits of giggles!

Just astonished that I did it without pain relief, although I was a bit worried that I'd have a panic attack and not be able for the pushing. I'm very, very relieved.

JJ1992 · 15/07/2022 11:25

@MollyRover this is my fear too! Did you feel any anxiety in the moment or were you just so focused on what you needed to do?

KizboBaggins · 15/07/2022 11:49

@Mattieandmummy congratulations! Glad it all went smoothly and you're recovering ok

@MollyRover congratulations to you too! He's adorable 🥰 reading, sunbathing and cooking during the first part of contractions sounds ideal lol and amazing that you managed without pain relief! Hope you're recovering ok too.

MollyRover · 15/07/2022 12:23

I was very vocal about what I was feeling. I desperately didn't want to be touched, for example, and told the nurse, DH and midwife. Told DH I thought I was panicking and he coached me through it. Just remember, there's always a button (be it pain relief, c section or whatever) so no need to panic.

MollyRover · 15/07/2022 12:24

Sorry, that was for @JJ1992, hit post too quick.

JJ1992 · 15/07/2022 12:32

@MollyRover
thanks I appreciate that! Sounds like the labour went ideally for how you were feeling then, you must be so chuffed with how it all went in the end. And now you have a beautiful baby boy! x

annie1994 · 15/07/2022 14:02

We had a bit of a saga this afternoon. Went in for the scan to check position and all ok, baby is head down so nothing to worry about there but he’s still measuring big estimated 9lb7.

They wanted us to chat to a doctor again because of the size so got sent over to the antenatal assessment unit where it basically took 4 hours to see a doctor for 5 minutes, book an induction and have a (failed) sweep.

Obviously not really the fault of any of the individual staff as they were clearly short staffed but it was soooo inefficient! Probably could have done it all in less than 20 mins. Luckily PILs were able to look after DD a bit longer and give her dinner but me and DH were super hungry, we didn’t take any supplies because we were only expecting to be in for the scan and then straight home!

strawberrysummer19 · 15/07/2022 23:57

@SamanthaVimes oh that sounds stressful!

I went in the other day for suspected leak of waters (turned out it wasn't just had increased watery discharge!) anyway because I had to see a doctor, it was just under 4hrs wait.

When are you being induced and how long are you?

X

strawberrysummer19 · 15/07/2022 23:58

So after me posting about lack of movement today, since this afternoon and eve I have the lost active baby!

I'm getting so many braxton hicks - it's like they are one after the other - also lots more lightening crutch

She's wriggling so much - she's never normally this active

I feel like I'm on alarm for contractions 😳

strawberrysummer19 · 15/07/2022 23:59

Most not lost x

MoiraRoseIsMyQueen · 16/07/2022 05:03

@strawberrysummer19 me too! I couldn’t get to sleep last night for baby moving, she was SO busy in there it felt like she was doing somersaults! And this morning it feels like she’s moved round to the left, having been on the right for a couple of weeks. Wondering if they’re getting into a good position for birth?! How are you feeling this morning? I’ve woken up feeling really restless with mild period pains…

Lianna93 · 16/07/2022 06:32

Ahhh I might be beating that induction tomorrow 🙈🤞🏻🤞🏻
Getting loads of period like pains & pink tinged discharge - hospital says it's all good signs.
Baby has literally 32.5 hours until I'm booked to be induced - Let's go baby, we can do this ourselves 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

@strawberrysummer19 booked in for Wednesday when I’ll be 41+1
Could have had a slot a bit earlier but don’t fancy labour in 40 degree heat if I can avoid it! Although of things kick off naturally before then I might not have a choice

MoiraRoseIsMyQueen · 16/07/2022 06:39

@Lianna93 cheering you on! Try (if you can) to have a super relaxing day, and remember you can always push your induction back if you don’t feel ready, or if you want to give your baby more time to come on their own!

strawberrysummer19 · 16/07/2022 07:51

@MoiraRoseIsMyQueen I'm glad it's not just me
That movement last night was like nothing else I've had all pregnancy!
Woken up with period type pains too but her movement is always quiet in the morning and sometimes the day, let's see what her pattern is today!
Yes I was wondering about position, maybe getting ready for labour ? I've certainly done lots of walking which I'll continue this weekend and birthing ball
Anything to give her a push for my induction in 4 days
I'm seeing the midwife today for what should be my 38week app as she couldn't fit me in the week so I'll see if she's engaged anymore
She was 3/5 last time (2.5 wks ago) although I stayed 2/5 with my first so doesn't mean labour is coming but it's nice to know she's getting closer !

I'm being induced in 4 days where I'll be 39+1 and honestly I'm quite ready - can't bear another week! X

JNGO21 · 16/07/2022 08:23

Ahh good luck @Lianna93 !

I had a sweep yesterday at 41 weeks but still nothing… baby is in the right position and everything is looking good but I didn’t get the feeling Labour was imminent from the midwife.

I can have another sweep Monday, then induction process starts. I will definitely have my baby by Friday which is good to know!

COME ON BABY!!

strawberrysummer19 · 16/07/2022 08:31

@JNGO21 thing is even midwives don't actually know, even if you had more signs labour can be days away (or can be hours) but unfortunately they can't predict sometimes

My midwife told me from 34 wks when head was low, bump HUGE, so many braxton hicks
That ' you will be early' said from 37wks get your bag packed, you're not going to 40wks
Every appointment she said I probably won't see you again

She came 40+1 🤣

I remember feeling very fed up by the end! X

MollyRover · 16/07/2022 08:43

Sending best wishes to everyone still to have their babies!! Really hope that you girls can avoid the inductions.

Oscar is cluster feeding which is pretty full on but means that I got 5 full hours of sleep last night- I haven't slept 5 hours in a row since before I was pregnant so feel like a new person! We're all settled in at home and DC1 is DELIGHTED with the new baby. DH is off for the next 5 weeks so I only need to concentrate on my recovery. Really can't wait to get out and about, life couldn't be better right now Grin
