Wonder how many more babies we'll meet before we get to July 🥰

@Capricorn8990 aw that's so bittersweet, what a lovely photo to treasure though.

@strawberrysummer19 I've been nagging at my husband all week that we need to sort out bedroom so we have space to put the crib up; think that might be today's task actually. I got a second hand one so I really need to make sure I've bought the right sized mattress in advance lol! It's the last thing I feel I need to do to be ready for baby, have the pram and car seat ready and a downstairs Moses basket all made up too, as well as like nappy stations and whatnot!

ChinChilly · 14/07/2022 12:23

@strawberrysummer19 we don’t have a cot yet, will get it when she’s ready to go in her own room I think, got a next to me for the bedroom, haven’t put it up yet mainly before I don’t want it covered in dog hairs.

@Capricorn8990 sorry to hear about your dad, lovely picture though and great they got to meet!

It would of been my grandads birthday tomorrow can’t help but think it would be nice if baby made an appearance tomorrow! This afternoon I’m getting on my hands and knees and scrubbing the kitchen floor in a hope it will start something off

Gaily82 · 14/07/2022 12:33

@kiwi17 Congratulations! And @missv556 hope all is going well!

Well my suspected braxton hicks on Monday turned out to be the real thing, they got more intense and painful over time and I soon realised that it was time to do this! So I also welcomed my baby girl Viviana yesterday 13th ☺️ I’ll tell you the whole story soon. I’m still in hospital just now and knackered as I’ve hardly slept for the past few nights. It was a very long labour, from those Monday contractions through to yesterday lunchtime. It wasn’t a very pleasant experience, because it was so long and drawn out, and for some stupid reason I declined pain relief! 😳 Next time, if there is one, I would seriously consider an epidural/c-section! But we got there in the end and she is here safely. All the maternity staff at the hospital are so amazing. I’ll post again soon with a photo of Vivi and to let you know more details of how things went. Just so glad she is here now! Good luck to everyone else with the early signs of labour too, you’ll have your babies in your arms soon I’m sure! 🥰

Lianna93 · 14/07/2022 12:40

@KizboBaggins I'm honestly so over it 😂 I knew the latent phase could be slow but holy heck - did not expect it to be THIS slow 😭😂😂 If my midwife hadn't confirmed labour, I'd definitely have shrugged it all off 😂
It doesn't hurt to ask her to check - assuming you're comfortable with the checks :)

@strawberrysummer19 I have my cotbed set up in her room but other than day naps, it won't be used properly until she's about 6 months. In the meantime, I have a Moses basket in my room at the bottom of the bed & for downstairs naps I have my baby box :) I've also got a travel cot that I need to set up & scrub clean but I literally can't be bothered with that right now 😬😂
I also realise, that the box & Moses basket are really only good for the first 4 months so I'm not sure what I'll do for the remaining two months - I might have a look round Facebook marketplace closer to the time to see what I can get second hand :)

I’ve just been to the midwife and she’s sending me for a presentation scan as she couldn’t tell for sure what position baby is in and thinks it’s possible he’s gone breech (although I think I would have noticed him doing a full somersault at this stage!) I’m already 40+2.
Really hoping he’s not breech as I don’t want to have to deal with that!
Hoping she’s just being cautious. Better safe than sorry I suppose!

NamelessBaby1 · 14/07/2022 13:51

Yay congrats @Gaily82 ! Hope you get some sleep soon and it's not too long before you get home, looking forward to the whole story :)

@SamanthaVimes hope baby is the right way around, that would be rubbish at this stage! I was convinced mine had done that the other night as once it cooled down it felt like non stop somersaults in there, but when I woke up the next morning I could feel it back where it had always been lol so just just have been a wee party going on.

Coco9910 · 14/07/2022 14:03

@missv556 @Gaily82 congratulations on your safe arrivals 💕

@Capricorn8990 im so sorry for your loss, but what a lovely photo 💕 Sending you lots of love!

paintfairy · 14/07/2022 14:38

@kiwi17 Congratulations! 🥳
@SamanthaVimes yes I hate people asking too. Like you wouldn't have said anything? 🙄
@missv556 Congratulations! 🎉 That's great news.
@strawberrysummer19 I can't believe your boss! 🤬 We'll be using a next2me. Its been built as no way did i want to be doing that after birth. No sheets on it though or anything.
@KizboBaggins I've had similar 3 times now. I think it's BH. But it really hurts.
@Capricorn8990 Congratulations! 🥳 I'm so sorry about your dad. 😔
@Gaily82 no pain relief? You must be mad. 🤣 Congratulations though! 🍾

Nothing happening here. DD is 24th and they want to induce me that day if she hasn't come by then. But I might hold out slightly. Currently uncomfortable as she's still up under my ribs and is in a strange position still. Head is down but the rest of her is sideways. Keep getting BH but have been for weeks. I also am trying to encourage things along with collecting colostrum, dtd, using the ball etc. But I am not that hopeful it'll work. My next midwife appointment is Monday.

beetree1 · 14/07/2022 15:12

Congratulations @Gaily82 and welcome to the world Viviana! 🤍

im 39+1 and I feel like everything’s stopped. I’d lost my plug by midwife said I was fully engaged I was having cramps etc and now i just feel nothing than the odd bit of pressure. I’m trying to keep busy and distract myself but I’m getting so impatient now.

next midwife appointment is on Monday where I’ll apparently be offered a sweep. My midwife even said I doubt we will see you then, I wish she hadn’t cos it had got my hopes up haha.

my friend as well who is a month behind me had a c-section yesterday due to growth so it made me even worse 😅

strawberrysummer19 · 14/07/2022 15:25

The cot is up! Luckily so as the cot sheets didn't fit, the mattress protector did but we had the opposite for the upstairs cot - sheets fitted but not the mattress protector!

As we have a next to me style cot for upstairs and a swinging style wooden cot for downstairs (thanks to market bay)

So good old Amazon prime and the sheets and mattress protector will be here tomorrow!

Also I've washed the protector sleeve that comes with both mattresses as they smelt like chemicals so glad I didn't leave it now

Very glad we opened and sorted it out now 😀

I've had some lightening twinges today and a couple yesterday, sure the sun extra walking I'm doing is helping

Trying to do at least 30mins a walk a day now
After dinner when it's cool we walk around our area. Also lots of time on the ball

Exciting to read everyone's update as we all get closer ! Plus lovely seeing the birth stories and pictures so far x

CaptainCarp · 14/07/2022 20:55

@Capricorn8990 congratulations on the birth of your baby girl. That's a lovely photo & I'm sorry for your loss.

@Gaily82 congratulations on the birth of your baby girl!

Mattieandmummy · 14/07/2022 22:18

Congratulations @Gaily82 @Capricorn8990 !

Mattieandmummy · 14/07/2022 22:28

Baby Isabelle was born this morning and despite being terrified, it was ok. She was not quite over the 99th percentile but on the way there - 4175g at 39+6. I'm so relieved I did go down the section route as she is only 35 grams lighter than my first who got very stuck and was 9 days late. Don't want to imagine what size Isabelle would have been if she'd stayed in that long.

Coco9910 · 14/07/2022 22:49

@Mattieandmummy congratulations! What a lovely name! Gosh yes she may have been quite big if you had gone over! I’m glad everything went well and hope you are recovering well also 💕

NamelessBaby1 · 14/07/2022 23:13

Wow @Mattieandmummy what a big girl! Sounds like you made the right choice there, I hope you have a swift recovery x

Lianna93 · 15/07/2022 00:31

Congratulations @Mattieandmummy Hope you're both doing well 🥰

So this little fairy decided to be born on Bastille Day!! We welcomed baby Oscar at 10:30pm yesterday, weighing 4154g. Manageable contractions from 12 to 6, then my water broke so we called the midwife. Unfortunately there was meconium in the amniotic fluid so had to go to hospital anyway, by which time the contractions were coming hard and fast!! Got there about 8 and managed without pain relief, despite begging everyone for an epidural at the end 😅. Got him on the breast within 10 minutes luckily but he's a bit fussy about positioning. Think it's a work in progress, and he's having a good sleep so keeping my fingers crossed it'll stick.

So effing glad that's over!! Should be going home in a couple of hours.

Due July (Thread 6)
NamelessBaby1 · 15/07/2022 06:38

Aw another wee cutie, well done @MollyRover ! Sounds like he is doing great even with the meconium present? Was that just 10 hours of labour in total? Fingers crossed you get home soon :)

Today is my official due date but not a single sign of anything happening, no show/ not a single twinge, anything. Just want to meet the baby now!

beetree1 · 15/07/2022 06:47

Congratulations @Mattieandmummy and @MollyRover glad to hear everything went well for you both! X

SamanthaVimes · 15/07/2022 06:50

Congratulations @Mattieandmummy and @MollyRover 2 more safely here ❤

laurenGame · 15/07/2022 07:12

@Capricorn8990 that photo is so beautiful, it brought a tear to my eye
So sorry about your dad, how lovely him and your little one got to meet. Hold onto that thought and memory when you have tough moments Flowers

Congratulations everyone on their babies !!

MollyRover · 15/07/2022 07:13

@NamelessBaby1 everything was fine thankfully, the pediatrician checked him over and he was perfect. 10 hours of contractions but to be honest I was just reading, sunbathing, cooking most of the day. Didn't want to get my hopes up if it was just Braxton Hicks. They didn't get heavy until about 7:30 then it was 3cm to 10cm inside an hour!

Coco9910 · 15/07/2022 07:57

@MollyRover congratulations! He’s adorable! Hope you’re both doing well!
