@missv556 congratulations, what a cutie!! He wasn’t as heavy as you expected then was he? Glad it all went well!

SamanthaVimes · 13/07/2022 20:57

@missv556 wow what a superhero!! He's so beautiful, congratulations and best wishes for your recovery xxxFlowers

kiwi17 · 13/07/2022 21:22

Congratulations @missv556 !

NamelessBaby1 · 13/07/2022 21:41

Congrats @missv556 , he's beautiful!

Aw all the dog chat is cute, must be difficult missing previous pets. We have a wee cat and my OH keeps telling her she'll always be our firstborn and loved, lol. Not sure she understands 🤣 and really not sure how she will cope with a baby in the house!

CaptainCarp · 13/07/2022 22:07

@missv556 congratulations on the birth of your baby boy! Glad everything went well.

ShellUK09 · 13/07/2022 23:15

@missv556 many congratulations! Sounds like you had a really positive experience 🙂

KizboBaggins · 14/07/2022 07:21

So last night from about 9pm - 11pm I laid in bed with a constant dull ache in my lower back, plus sharp pains in the front that came and went every few minutes. It then calmed down after a few hours and I slept through the night. Woken up this morning and I feel fine.

I'm only 38+3. I've not had anything like it up to this point. Could my body have just being doing a practice run?! It was weird cause it was actually painful (which I thought BH wasn't) and the sharp pains were so close together...

Either way I have decided this labour nonsense is not for me... I was in some discomfort for like 2hrs and struggled so god knows what I'm gonna be like during actual birth 😂

missv556 · 14/07/2022 07:41

Thanks all 😍

@ChinChilly no he really wasn't. The growth scans really aren't that accurate lol but I don't regret the choice to have a section at all. I have found it to be a positive experience so far but I've still got the recovery to get through yet so we will see how I feel on the other side of that.

Had a bit of a rough night. Little man was cluster feeding so I feel like I barely got any sleep since about 2am then once I got him down settled I was woken up by staff for meds and checks. Might have to stay in until tomorrow as they want to review my blood pressure medication because they believe I've been taking too high a dose throughout pregnancy so I'll know more later on today.

ChinChilly · 14/07/2022 07:41

@KizboBaggins I had exactly the same about a week ago I was actually lying there thinking shit if this is the start of labour I actually can’t do this but it didn’t happen again after. Assumed it was BH I’ve seen a few people on here say they found BH painful.

ChinChilly · 14/07/2022 07:43

@missv556 that gives me hope my fatty won’t be that much of a fatty lol! Glad it was a positive experience for you and hopefully you’re out of hospital soon xx

MollyRover · 14/07/2022 08:26

Ya I'm having a lot of BH for the last 10 days or so. Very uncomfortable, bordering on painful. Bump gets rock hard and I feel it all the way down to my cervix. Normally happens when baby is moving but I had some yesterday when he was still/ sleeping for the first time (I think!!)

Normal labour I will do it at home if at all possible, I've heard it's a doddle compared to induction. If I have to be induced then I will have to go to hospital and will get an epidural in that case because I was induced with DC1 and it was unbearable- I couldn't sleep for days so was exhausted, if I hadn't had pain relief I would have needed an emergency C Section. Unfortunately only have the choice of Pethidine or Epidural here, I'd love if they offered gas and air!!

@KizboBaggins, you will definitely be able for it!! We'll all get through it xxxFlowers

Lianna93 · 14/07/2022 08:46

@KizboBaggins That's how it started for me last week - Lower back pain & what felt like period cramping at the front then when I woke up, it was all gone.
When I saw my midwife 2 days later, she confirmed my labour had started but in the latent phase. Perfectly normal for it all to stop & start but very frustrating all the same. At this point, I've been in the latent phase for 9 days 🙃🙃🙃
Started contracting yesterday on & off and now feeling my whole stomach tightening rather it just being some cramps. Woke up again feeling fine 😭😂
So it's lots more bouncing on my ball for me today. 3 days until I'm induced & I'm determined I'm going naturally 😂😂

Heya all, congrats on everyone who has given birth so far this month and last! Love seeing photos of babies 🥹❤️.

I really think my baby girl Alora came 20 days early to meet my lovely dad as he passed away on Tuesday evening at 84 years old.

Here is a photo if them both which I’ll forever cherish.

Xx

@Capricorn8990 so sorry for your loss. That's a beautiful picture - lovely that they got to meet each other.

@Lianna93 9 days is such a long time, bless you. I think I'm probably about to join you in that though... I've got the midwife tomorrow but I'm not even sure she'll check whether I'm in labour as I'll be just under 39 weeks? Maybe I should mention it.

It must be so frustrating for you. You're doing amazing. Got everything crossed that things start naturally for you in the next few days.

@MollyRover weird that you don't get the option of gas and air! Just straight to the opioids lol. Your induction experience sounds horrifying 😬

MollyRover · 14/07/2022 09:50

@Capricorn8990 what a beautiful photo, and I'm so sorry for your loss xxx

@KizboBaggins I know!! Super jealous when I see one born every minute, everyone seems to be loving it!! It was a nightmare labour- 72 hours, 2 shots of oxytocin and when the anesthesiologist came I thought he had a clown face and that the needle was a meter long. I was screaming and hiding behind the bed because I was hysterical 😅. Still decided to do it again though 🤣🤣🤣

strawberrysummer19 · 14/07/2022 10:58

Did everyone / has anyone set up their cot at all? We weee going to do it when I'm in labour as my fiancé is staying home and my MIL is my birth partner but we were think about getting it out today. I'm being induced in 6 days

I'm not superstitious or anything and we've literally bought everything now but this is the cot that's doing in our bedroom

Just wondering if people have done? X

beetree1 · 14/07/2022 11:05

@Capricorn8990 sorry to hear your sad news. must be very tough. What a lovely picture to treasure and how very lucky they got to meet each other 🤍

KizboBaggins · 14/07/2022 11:06

@strawberrysummer19 I don't even have a cot yet 😂 I've got the Next2Me thing set up in our bedroom though! I'm far too controlling and organised to not have it all sorted before I go into labour tbh lol

@MollyRover wtf that sounds absolutely insane! I can't believe you're doing it again after that haha - very strong of you! I would've been demanding an epidural or c section if I started hallucinating 😅

JJ1992 · 14/07/2022 11:10

Ive the cot built in the nursery but havent unpackaged the matress yet, was actually thinking of doing this today for some nesting fun 🥰 We recieved all our furniture very early so built it all a couple months ago, easier to store it in its place.
Snuzpod is also just in the nursery at the moment, its all build but not got sheets on yet.

strawberrysummer19 · 14/07/2022 11:32

We haven't bought a cot yet but figured that can come when she's ready to go in her own room so around Xmas

But we bought a crib for our room so I think we shall start assembling it today - the mattress is in packaging but I've washed the sheets and mattress protector just didnt know if it was too early but I'm bored !! So trying to fill the time x

MollyRover · 14/07/2022 11:32

@KizboBaggins the anesthesiologist was administering the epidural 🤣🤣. Glutton for punishment obviously, 2 days overdue with constant kicked-crotch feeling now and honestly I probably would be looking at doing it again if I was 10 years younger 😅.

@strawberrysummer19 we had the cot (with built in commode and drawers) from DC1 so it was the first thing to be put together for storage and changing during the night in DC2s bedroom, but he won't be sleeping there during the night until he's 6 months or so. Might put him down there when I'm showering or whatever so that he's used to it from the beginning. The next2me is set up there too but obviously will be in our room when he gets here. We also have a travel cot with a real mattress for downstairs sleeping but we'll set that up when we need it, when he's around 2 weeks old. So 3 cots 2 put together, really helps I think to picture the bomb that will be thrown into our lives very very soon!!
