For anyone who's having growth or Doppler scans this late in pregnancy what was your AFI measurements?

Just curious - I feel more reassured after todays scan (37wks) as it's now 8.4cm AFI where as last week when I had my normal growth scan at 36wks is was 6.3cm so they sent me for a Doppler scan for this week to check fluids as they were on the lower side

They said last week they either want to see it remain the same or increase so it's good it's increased

This sonographer did put in notes today
'Fluid appears subjectively reduced but AFI is within normal range'

I luckily have a growth scan next week at 38wks so just hoping it's all ok

Movements are still good but just feel like I'm so close to the end I just want her here now!!!

Exciting to read about everyone having labour signs

Xx

ChinChilly · 06/07/2022 21:52

@strawberrysummer19 I just checked my notes from todays growth scan but I can’t find an AFI measurement on there it does say largest pool of fluid is 5.6cm and is within normal range..sorry not much help

strawberrysummer19 · 06/07/2022 22:19

@ChinChilly thank you for checking

I believe they either measure the AFI which is the 4 quarters of the fluid and then there's the measurement of the largest pool which is what you've had done

Sounds as if yours is higher than mine but still I just read mine as it's on the low side of normal range

Thank you xx

ChinChilly · 06/07/2022 22:32

@strawberrysummer19 ahh ok, makes sense! Mine was 8.3cm 2 weeks ago so I’m guessing it fluctuates unless I’ve unknowingly been leaking fluid 🤷🏼‍♀️ Hopefully your scan next week will give you some peace of mind! The end of pregnancy is as nerve wrecking as the start!

strawberrysummer19 · 06/07/2022 22:48

@ChinChilly I guess as it's normal range I shouldn't worry but yes I feel like this has been yeh hardest part in a way. Glad I have next weeks scan and then it's 7 days until I get induced after that, I'm soooo ready 😀

Body feels like it is too today
Supper uncomfortable, Lower Back ache, pelvic pressure and really feel like she's dropped more
Even bumps changed shape

X

ChinChilly · 06/07/2022 23:02

@strawberrysummer19 I would take an induction tomorrow if I was offered one I’m so done now, I’m the same pelvic pain, so much pressure down there aswell I can’t get up or move without making some sort of groaning 🙄 funnily enough my OH said my bump looked like it had changed shape this evening.

My midwife said no inductions before 10 days overdue, a woman I know under the same trust was due yesterday and she’s been booked in for an induction on the 16th… honestly the thought of 3 more weeks like this.. I cannot even bare

strawberrysummer19 · 06/07/2022 23:05

@ChinChilly I'm glad I'm not the only one
It's making me feel miserable today - hoping I feel a tad better tomorrow

If I wasn't being induced on 20th I think I'd cry
So I feel for anyone feeling like this that has to wait and potentially go over

Sleep is terrible and I'm up every 1.5-2hrs tops with my bladder then can't get comfy

Hate moaning but that's me done for tonight! Hope you get a good night sleep x

Fizzybubblegumbottles · 07/07/2022 07:26

Morning everyone.. hope you are well! Yesterday (6.7.22) I gave birth to my baby boy weighing 7lb @ 39+5 💙 active labour for 42 mins just gas and air- had a small tear so have a few stitches but other than that all ok! Still mastering the breastfeeding but hopefully get there soon 🤞🏻Looking forward to hearing more baby announcements in the coming weeks!! X

ChinChilly · 07/07/2022 08:39

@strawberrysummer19 I am exactly the same during the night, so frustrating! I hate moaning especially seen as getting and staying pregnant wasn’t easy for all of us, me included but sometimes it is hard.

@Fizzybubblegumbottles congratulations on your little boy

MollyRover · 07/07/2022 09:28

@Fizzybubblegumbottles congratulations!!! Wishing that we all have such an experience, sounds like you handled it well Flowers. I'm 39+2. Having Braxton Hicks for the last 2 days solid, really hope that it happens between today and tomorrow...

JJ1992 · 07/07/2022 09:29

@Fizzybubblegumbottles congratulations! Wow 42 minutes that was quick 😁 hope you are both recovering well💖

@ChinChilly @strawberrysummer19 feel like Im in a similar position to you guys. I am getting sleep but have noticed a massive change this week! Lots more pelvic pressure and everything is just more difficult. Getting to the point where Im a little nervous to go out on my own.. Which is no use when OH is working! Midwife says baby is low but still 3/5 engagement on the app?
Im only 37 weeks 6 days, so potentially have another 3-4 weeks of worrying everyday that my waters are going to break 😂 woke up today very nauseaous and just not right.. Not sure if labour or purely overthinking! Might just take myself back to bed....

MollyRover · 07/07/2022 09:29

@strawberrysummer19 @ChinChilly I'm exactly the same, have to wee 2mls every 1.5/2 hours. It's not even that bad during the day!!

Lianna93 · 07/07/2022 09:41

Congratulations @Fizzybubblegumbottles 🥰

Sweep happening in about 2 hours - barely slept last night for the anxiety but I'm putting my big brave girl pants on today & I'm doing this. I want this baby OUT 😭😭

OP posts:
ChinChilly · 07/07/2022 09:45

@MollyRover sometimes I feel like I need to pee 2mls every 10 mins then can go hours without going at all, guess it’s all to do with baby’s position

@JJ1992 I’ve been feeling nauseous for a few days now, thrown up a few times also keep getting those belly cramps you tend to get before the 💩 lol I feel the same about going out just incase but I think I’m going to need to start getting out and doing something everyday to keep my mind and myself busy

JJ1992 · 07/07/2022 10:00

@Lianna93 hopefully it gets things going!

@ChinChilly i think you're right was just thinking this! Distraction is always good and probably more likely to actually start labour when relaxed and feeling those happy hormones rather than sitting over thinking everything and becoming anxious. 🧘‍♀️🌲

ChinChilly · 07/07/2022 10:04

@Lianna93 hope it works for you!

@JJ1992 I’ve been overthinking every little twinge then I get frustrated when nothing comes of it 😂 I also fear I’m spending too much time in the house and am turning into a curtain twitcher 😂

JJ1992 · 07/07/2022 10:08

@ChinChilly i feel you!! To the point where the world outside the house seems a little daunting 😱 the sun is coming out here today, hopefully the same where you are gives a little motivation to get out and about 😊

Lianna93 · 07/07/2022 10:17

@JJ1992 @ChinChilly Thank you both 🥰

I'm in the same boat about lack of going out 😬 I finished up work 4 weeks ago & had big plans of enjoying the sun... 😂 Aye hen, that went well - you live in Scotland 😭😂 Todays the first day of proper sun in ages - so much so the council is out cutting the grass 😂😂
Think after this sweep I'll relax out in the garden with a book & a cuppa 🤞🏻😂

ChinChilly · 07/07/2022 10:26

@JJ1992 it’s abit miserable here atm but forecast says it should be sunny this afternoon, my garden is in desperate need of some de-weeding maybe I should crack on with that.

@Lianna93 I have to say I’ve been seeing the low pollen levels in Scotland the last couple of weeks compared to here the midlands and have felt incredibly jealous lol

I need to get some floaty summer dresses for this heatwave we’re apparently getting but I get so annoyed in the shops because everything just looks weird on atm, but it’s supposed to be picking up this weekend and into next week and I’ll definitely still be pregnant 😂

SamanthaVimes · 07/07/2022 10:36

@Fizzybubblegumbottles congratulations on your little boy!

Lianna93 · 07/07/2022 10:36

@ChinChilly No doubt the pollen count is about to go up if we're to have better weather so I'll need to get my antihistamines ready 🙈😂
Praying I ain't pregnant for a heatwave but I'm also terrified about what to do with a newborn in a heatwave - winters fine, we wrap them up - seems simple enough but summer babies... ain't got a clue 😭😂

OP posts:
JJ1992 · 07/07/2022 10:59

@ChinChilly oh god dont even talk to me bout the weeds 😂! Ours is like a wild garden!
I have found normal floaty dresses are great for pregnancy! Got a couple in asda and tesco and hoping I will be able to keep wearing them when baby is here! They actually fit better than my maternity dresses at this point!
Definitely worth looking in the supermarkets, can just pop a belt on it to keep wearing after baby!

JJ1992 · 07/07/2022 11:01

@Lianna93 Ive seen a few people writing about that on a FTM UK facebook group and there are little pictures that guide what tog of blanket/ how many layers to put on baby in what temperatures! Quite handy tricks for keeping baby cool too. I think a lot of the mums are further south than me so have the heat more extreme so I kinds skipped past them but emdefinitely seems handy

strawberrysummer19 · 07/07/2022 11:02

@Fizzybubblegumbottles well done you and congratulations! How lovely

My BH are getting much stronger and I had such an uncomfortable day yesterday, not so bad today but have felt a bit off/sick

I am sleeping but up 3-4 times in the night and I've had bladder/Lowe bump ache for ages now

I did have a UTI last week and thrush so just generally sore and uncomfortable

It feels like I've been riding a bike or a horse for hours - sore and sensitive down there

X
