My delay pregnancy - My plug was blood when wiping, mixture of brown and red at midnight
Called in and they said to come in to be checked
Cervix closed but kept me in as blood kept coming (when wiping)
Contractions started straight away after being admitted at 3am, waters went at 850, baby born 2pm so glad I went in

Believe it can be clear - some people
Lose all the plug and it's obvious, some slowly over days maybe longer x

So keep an eye ! X

strawberrysummer19 · 03/07/2022 10:06

My first I mean not delay
X

MollyRover · 03/07/2022 10:15

Thanks girls! No TMI here Grin. @strawberrysummer19 I think that's what's happening, I'm losing the plug gradually. Definitely have aches and pains, this discharge is heavy and constant the last couple of days and I have quite a bit of lower back ache. The scenario you describe would be perfect for me if it happens today/tomorrow 😅

strawberrysummer19 · 03/07/2022 10:18

@MollyRover ohh excited for you! This definitely could be the start.
My contractions started slowly and got very intense just after my waters went - I was glad I was at hospital otherwise they would have sent me home if it wasn't for the bleed so definitely keep an eye on those contractions

You hear so much about people being in labour for days/hours but mine was very very quick for a first time so that's what worries me about this time

Luckily I'm closer to the hospital and have bags ready and not going to venture too far over the next 2 wks! X

Hi ladies just catching up!
@laurenGame congratulations on your baby boy!

@ShellUK09 congratulations on your baby girl!

My Baby girl was born on Tuesday at 3am! Weighing 7lbs 1oz.

Got induced about 4-4:30 went for a walk (waddle) after dinner at around 5:30 i had back ache / sciatic pain & but it down to baby having dropped. Now fairly sure it was the start of labour.
DP left about 10:45 after monitoring was finished & my waters broke at 11:15!

They had to take the pessary out as it was overstimulating & give me something to slow down the contractions!
Went from 3cm to fully dilated in almost no time & apparently I only spent about 10mins actively pushing according to DP!
Not going to lie it felt a lot longer than that 😂
I'd had paracetamol just after dinner & then codeine after my waters broke & that was it.

Baby came out back to back with arms up though & I have a 3rd degree tear & suffered quite a bit of blood loss.

So I've been recovering in hospital & we were finally "let out" yesterday. 1st night in my own bed was sooo good!

Had our 5 day check today & baby has gained weight though so I think we are doing OK. Just got to get some more sleep now 😂

laurenGame · 03/07/2022 14:31

Congratulations @CaptainCarp and everyone else on their newborns!

We came home today after 5 days at the hospital. It was amazing to get the hang on parenthood with the midwives there every step of the way. They would watch every latch of the baby, provided so many tips and wisdom, and one night when the baby wouldn't settle by 3am a midwife came and took the baby away until 7am so my partner and I could sleep. I could have cried she was so nice 🥹

My little boy will not sleep or settle anywhere (even when he's awake) unless he's on me, does anyone else have the same problem and has any advice? I'm so sleep deprived I sleep about 2-3 hours a night. No matter how much I feed him or swaddle him, he just wants to be held all the time and I'm exhausted. I can't put him down even in the day Sad

ShellUK09 · 03/07/2022 14:40

@CaptainCarp ah congratulations to you too! You were in hospital the same amount of time as me then, wasn't it such a huge relief to be let out! It felt like forever to me. We also had the five day check today and that was all good too, Ava is back to her birth weight so they are happy with that and it's good to know we are managing the feeding okay. She has shown my partner how to inject me as I was given blood thinning injections and I have a needle phobia! So we will give that a go from tomorrow and she did it for me today... Sounds like you had a quick labour as well and dilated quick too like me, it's strange how we both had similar experiences! Enjoy this bonding time as a family now you are finally back home, it's a lovely time 😌

ChinChilly · 03/07/2022 14:47

@CaptainCarp congratulations!! So exciting we’ve had a few of our July babies born..making me more impatient though 🤭

beetree1 · 03/07/2022 15:01

Awww congratulations @CaptainCarp glad your induction went well as well!

@laurenGame good to hear you had lots of support from the midwives during your hospital stay!

I hope everyone with their babies are settling well now at home and doing good. Making me so excited to finally go into labour whenever that might be 😅

SamanthaVimes · 03/07/2022 15:14

@CaptainCarp congratulations! Glad you’re home now 😊

MoiraRoseIsMyQueen · 03/07/2022 15:44

@laurenGame so glad you had lots of support and you’re home. I’m sorry to tell you that it is absolutely normal for new babies not to want to be put down 🥴 some great advice and tips on how to manage here - but basically just get through it any way you can, sleep when and wherever you can (same for baby), and it does get better! instagram.com/lyndsey_hookway?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

CaptainCarp · 03/07/2022 15:55

@laurenGame the midwives weren't quite that attentive for us (staff shortages unfortunately) but I can't fault them & I did get some extra help with latching due to being in a bit longer.

@ShellUK09 yes I think it all happened a bit quick for the midwifes as well. After the birth they said "you may want to use your gas & air whilst we examine you" I said I've not had it yet & they were all oh right OK yeah we'll get that for you!

I only had about 5 puffs though as it just made me feel a bit wierd.

strawberrysummer19 · 03/07/2022 16:16

@CaptainCarp congratulations and well done you! Like the others have said it's so nice to see one babies being born on this thread, so exciting

I'm being induced on 19th so it's nice of you to share your experience x

Hope3821 · 03/07/2022 16:38

Congratulations l@CaptainCarp! 💗💗💗 so lovely to see everyone's babies arriving 💗💗 it's making me feel itchy to get on with my own labour and birth! So happy for you all! 💕

Mattieandmummy · 03/07/2022 16:41

@CaptainCarp congratulations!!!

@laurenGame I also have to second the not wanting to be put down and wanting to be held all the time as totally normal. Have a Google of the fourth trimester to help you out with expectations and definitely get a sling if you haven't already so you can at least have your hands free during the day.

SamanthaVimes · 03/07/2022 16:54

@laurenGame with DD DH and I had to sleep in shifts for a bit. He’d stay up until about 12 with her and I’d go to bed early, then I’d take over for as long as I could manage then we’d swap again.

things got easier once DD got day and night sorted out (lots of light and noise in the day and keeping it dark and quiet at night is meant to help with this)

CaptainCarp · 03/07/2022 17:28

@strawberrysummer19 it was actually an OK experience. Part of me wonders if I'd refused the induction whether she would have come naturally around the same time... But I just got to meet her a little earlier.

paintfairy · 03/07/2022 17:29

@CaptainCarp Congratulations! 🎉 The babies are going to be coming thick and fast now. Exciting.

Lianna93 · 03/07/2022 18:21

Congratulations @CaptainCarp 🥰

Loving reading about all the babies coming - I'm still sat here super impatient waiting on mine coming 🙈😂 Due date is Tuesday so hoping it won't be too much longer 🤞🏻

@CaptainCarp that's good to hear, it's just the unknown isn't it. My first went 40+1 and this one I being induced but I hope my bodies ready as it does feel it! X

JJ1992 · 03/07/2022 18:50

Aww congratulations @CaptainCarp ❤️ hope you are recovering well 😊😊 x

annie1994 · 03/07/2022 20:59

Just had a quick catch up, congratulations @CaptainCarp on the birth of your baby 😌

Hope everyone else is doing ok, not long ladies!!

ChinChilly · 03/07/2022 21:23

Had anybody else been experiencing nausea, I’ve randomly just started throwing up 🥴

Mattieandmummy · 03/07/2022 22:05

Yes, the last few days or so I've been feeling really sick, not actually thrown up but definitely unwell for a lot of the day 😒

strawberrysummer19 · 03/07/2022 22:15

Is anyone getting a sharp/shooting pain really low down like in the vagina area?

Feels almost like I need a wee as if she's pressing on my bladder but also feels sharp and uncomfortable?

37wks on Tuesday x
