@Mattieandmummy I’ve felt sick for the last few days but tonight it got me and I don’t think I’m done 🤢

@strawberrysummer19 I’ve been getting that on and off it was really bad on Friday but seems to have settled since

Coco9910 · 03/07/2022 23:05

@strawberrysummer19
yes I’ve been getting that this evening! Baby has been super active but at one point it was like a sharp pain / pressure down below and I literally felt like I was gonna wee myself! I wouldn’t have been surprised if my waters went that’s how much pressure there was 😅 I’m 36+3 for context!

@CaptainCarp congratulations! 💕

laurenGame · 03/07/2022 23:35

@MoiraRoseIsMyQueen it's a relief to hear that it's normal , I thought maybe it's just my baby that has to be held at all times.

I can't even go to the toilet when I'm at home by myself - he will cry if I put him down. Have to wait for husband to be at home so I then use the loo 😐 how do others cope.

@Mattieandmummy thank you, I've read about 4 trimester but expected at least be able to put him down for 5 mins :/
And sleeping on my only? I thought he'd sleep in bassinet, even broken sleep, even 2-3 hours at a time .... but no

Mattieandmummy · 04/07/2022 05:49

@laurenGame yes....it's a bit of a shock when that happens. Definitely try a sling, it makes going to the loo a bit easier but if it helps my DD is three and a half and we still have company in the bathroom. Only now that company has no qualms about asking if you are doing a smelly poo very loudly 🙄.

SamanthaVimes · 04/07/2022 06:58

@Mattieandmummy my DD is 2 this week and if I say I need the loo she’ll confidently say “I come” and trot in there to watch 😅 good to know this isn’t going to stop any time soon

@laurenGame sometimes when DD was little she’d let me put her in the bouncy chair while I used the bathroom (she still had to come with though!) but I definitely did a lot of wees either very quickly without her or holding her with one arm. Not even the most ridiculous thing I’ve done with her.

strawberrysummer19 · 04/07/2022 08:05

My first i couldn't put down ! She cried and cried and sometimes i cried with her !
Hoping this one may be different 🤣
But it was real a shock to the system - the whole thing was xx

laurenGame · 04/07/2022 08:31

Yea it's a real shock and @SamanthaVimes I have definitely weed whilst holding the baby. It's a new normal to me

Hoping for a miracle where he stops crying and happy to lay on his own.

@SamanthaVimes ordering bouncy chair right now.

Lianna93 · 04/07/2022 09:08

I've woke up & my lips look like I've had fillers put in 😂😂
No gonna complain if they want to stay after baby comes 😂

Peters27 · 04/07/2022 09:58

@Lianna93 in ireland a few older women I know claim this is a sure sign labour is close!no idea why?!but I've been on lip watch every morning for about 2.5 weeks all the same 🤣

MoiraRoseIsMyQueen · 04/07/2022 10:08

@laurenGame this might be a helpful read - sarahockwell-smith.com/2012/11/04/the-fourth-trimester-aka-why-your-newborn-baby-is-only-happy-in-your-arms/amp/

But also - it’s ok for your baby to cry for a minute or two! If you need to put them down for you to pee, as long as they’re somewhere safe, they will be fine. It’s more stressful for you than them TBH. All you can do is your best - get yourself a lovely stretchy wrap or sling, carry them as much as you can, but your needs matter too, so if you need to put them down then do it! You are doing an amazing job, I promise it gets easier.

Lianna93 · 04/07/2022 11:18

@Peters27 👀👀 I really hope so 😭😂 I dunno how much longer I can handle being pregnant for 😂

Hope3821 · 04/07/2022 11:59

@MoiraRoseIsMyQueen that's a great article, thanks for sharing 😊

I'm 37+3 today. Since about yesterday, or maybe day before, the second I get up from sitting I get this horrible low back pain when I stand up and walk, like my low back twinges so bad I can barely walk for a minute or so, just shuffle. It eases off as I walk about or sit down, but comes back if I stand up again, even from my birth ball!
Also started to get mad painful trapped wind this morning. I'm trying to figure out if this is early, early signs of things starting but I don't have any other show. Midwife told me as FTM I'm unlikely to go until 40+ weeks. Does that mean I've got weeks of this painful hobble, waddle shuffle to go?! 😭😪

Lianna93 · 04/07/2022 12:11

@Hope3821 I'm 40 weeks tomorrow & also a FTM - can confirm I'm feeling all the same things and still no sign of baby 😭
Totally fed up now so can completely sympathise with you 🥰
Hopefully you'll get luck & go early 🤞🏻
I was completely convinced my baby was coming 3 weeks ago because of how I was feeling but clearly I was wrong 🙄😂

Hey girls!

Elective section booked for the 12th and been looking at the weather forecast for that day and the days after and it says 27C 😥 now I'm stressing, what do I dress baby in? I've packed baby grows and hats in my hospital bag and now thinking do I need alternatives as it will be so warm! My first DC was a September baby so didn't have these issues.

Congratulations to the June/July babies that have made an appearance 🥰

Mattieandmummy · 04/07/2022 12:35

Just having a rethink too - my c section is on Friday and it's 23 degrees and upwards from then on here too. Think I might go with short sleeved vests all in one's and layer up from there.

Mattieandmummy · 04/07/2022 12:49

@SamanthaVimes yep kind of wondering how close to going to school age we're going to get before I get to go to the toilet by myself 😂!

Hope3821 · 04/07/2022 13:01

Oh god @Lianna93 that sounds tough! Well I won't build up any expectations then if you've been the same way and still waiting. It could be worse, but the back pain really is a nightmare. OK, just got to put my head down and get on with it! I hope your wee one arrives soon for you, can imagine how ready you are now! 😭💗💗💗

missv556 · 04/07/2022 14:40

@Mads96 thank you for bringing that up. I'm having an elective section on the 13th and I hadn't even thought to check the weather in case I have to adjust the clothing. Just when you think you've got everything sussed and ready to go. My mum is coming over on Wednesday to help me do some last minute baby prep so we'll go through the hospital bag again too

ChinChilly · 04/07/2022 15:20

The forecast for warm weather does not excite me atm lol I’ve packed short sleeve vests and long sleeved sleep suits.

I’ve felt awful all day today 🤢🤢 spent most of the day in bed apart from a dog walk this morning. I thought I had a contraction walking the dog this morning, really tight painful sensation across my lower back and stomach but nothing since so I guess it wasn’t one 🤷🏼‍♀️

Danani · 04/07/2022 18:10

Hi everyone!

I'm feeling a bit worried today, so just wanted to come on here and see if anyone has any reassurance to offer. Just been to my 36 week midwife app, and bump is measuring 33.5 so she is referring me for a growth scan on Thu. Very excited to see the little one again, but can't help but feel a little worried and unsettled by the slower growth...Bump was firmly measuring on the 50% so far, at 34 weeks it was a tad below the line (only 1.5 cm off from the mark, so she did not refer me for scan), but today was 2.5 cm off the mark so she did. Might be worth mentioning it was the same (new to me) midwife both last and this time, so really really hoping her measuring is just a bit off. Even with the drop, baby looks to be on track to be around 3.5 kg, so I wouldn't say small by any means, but just in my own head now a little bit. It also doesn't help the scan app is on Thu at 5 pm which feels like AGES from now, but it was the first one they could offer...

Other than that, the rest of the things were totally fine (BP, urine, doppler, movements).

Can someone put my mind at ease? I know the bump measurements can be notoriously off, but cannot help but worry a little bit.

ChinChilly · 04/07/2022 18:53

@Danani my fundal height measurement was 31cm at 35 weeks which came in way below the 10th centile, went for a growth scan the next day and was told baby is actually on 90th centile and now having extra growth scans because they think she’s going to be big so really don’t worry about the bump measurements.

KizboBaggins · 04/07/2022 18:59

@Danani similar to @ChinChilly my fundal height was 30.5 at nearly 35 weeks but scan showed 50th centile. Today I had a different midwife and measured 34cm (37 weeks) however she definitely measured from a different place to the other midwife. It's supposed to be measured from the bone but she was basically at the bottom of my vagina lol. I think I'm roughly about 32.5/33cm at 37 weeks. I've had a few growth scans and all have been fine. I know it doesn't help ease the anxiousness - I was the same before every scan! I was lucky they got me in almost immediately, the waiting is the worst!

strawberrysummer19 · 04/07/2022 19:25

@Danani I also wouldn't worry about the fundal measurements - I've heard they can be so way out either way

I've only been measured once where I was ' off the scale' but had growth scans booked anyway as I'm under a consultant that then showed a larger size baby - at my next midwife app I thought she forgot to measure me so I asked her and she said oh no we won't measure you now your having growth scans ?!

So I don't see the point in fundal measurements as surely every bump measures different

So I wouldn't worry xx

KizboBaggins · 04/07/2022 19:26

@Lianna93 have you been offered a sweep/induction? Midwife told me today when I hit 40 weeks they'll offer a sweep and also book me in for an induction at 41 weeks (assuming he doesn't come before that - which I feel like he isn't going to. He's far too comfortable in there!)

JNGO21 · 04/07/2022 19:30

Hi @Danani , I had a different midwife measure me one week and the next appointment (back to regular midwife) I’d lost 3cm… which is impossible.
I was referred for a scan and everything was fine.

Try not to worry, it’s probably due to midwife measuring but if baby has slowed down slightly then this is exactly why they measure and scan so they can keep everything on track.

Just remember that you’re past 36 weeks with everything going well so if baby decided to come tomorrow then they’ll be absolutely fine! They’re already fully developed and big enough to be happy and healthy xx
