@CatMumFTM22 @Danani yep that's me too! I think it's good that a lot of us are feeling like this! As in maybe it's normal

I'm getting crazy movement today - really hard jabs at the top of my bump! So much they hurt, like they feel like knobbly knees or feet or something - I mean it's lovely! Most days she's quiet and I'm worried so this is nice 😊

@Danani @strawberrysummer19 It's good to know it's not just me, it makes me feel less alone. These hormones have a lot to answer for! I also have depression, so I often worry I'll slip into another episode post-partum. It's a heady mix, such an emotional time. I'm excited but also nervous.

I have just realised that the Headspace app has a couple of interesting looking courses related to pregnancy and labour. I wish I'd found out about this sooner! Going to listen to these in the coming weeks to help my mental health and anxiety around the birth/post-partum. On the app just search for 'pregnant' and you'll see the two courses.

Also, huge congratulations to everyone who has already had their baby. It's so helpful to hear about everyone's experiences and see the cute photos. If you are struggling at all, I hope you are getting the support and sleep you need. Keep in touch with us here, don't suffer in silence xxx

Yes I'm a total grump too ladies. DM very unhelpfully telling me yesterday about how energetic DSis was when she was 2 weeks overdue on her 2nd Confused. Thanks Mom!!

strawberrysummer19 · 30/06/2022 19:07

@CatMumFTM22 ohh ok going to check that out! Sounds right up my street and something to do to pass the time thank you xx

strawberrysummer19 · 30/06/2022 19:17

And at least we have each other to talk to
I had a bad time with my first, PND but undiagnosed (11yrs ago now) I used to cry all the time and never let anyone know
I didn't realise it was PND and didn't realise I had trauma from the birth, I recognise it now

Ladies I feel the same way - 39 weeks tomorrow and fed up and pessimistic that I will labour naturally after going overdue with dd1 and being induced. Don't get me wrong the induction was fine in the end but I'm so jealous of the people that get to experience a spontaneous labour and surprise people when they give birth as with an induction everyone basically knows when you're giving birth and there's no surprise element. I also want to experience a natural labour and try a homebirth but convinced it just won't happen again 😞 sorry feeling a bit pessimistic this evening!

Hope3821 · 30/06/2022 21:09

Congratulations! @laurenGame and @ShellUK09 💕💕💕💕 @laurenGame that sounds so rough and I can totally understand why you're feeling the way you are now. Take it easy on yourself, you've just done an incredible thing, you're very brave and strong and your baby is so lucky to have you 💗💗💗
@ShellUK09 congratulations for your birth too, sounds like it was also tough, but you've totally inspired me to get back to my hypnobirthing app which I've totally been ignoring recently! You're incredible women!!

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and had my midwife manager visit today to sign me off on my homebirth, good to go so I'm happy! Except she completely bamboozled me with transfer stats and overdue stats and breastfeeding stuff! I literally remember nothing she told me over the whole hour!!

Not getting any lightening pains or shows yet but I'm hoping beyond hope I don't go over 40 weeks 😬

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 01/07/2022 04:35

Well DH and I went out for dinner last night and I clearly got food poisoning of some kind as a few hours after getting home was (explosively) ill and have spent most of the night in the bathroom 😭

great ‘last date’ night… (!)

presuming baby is ok….? Finally back in bed and absolutely bone shatteringly exhausted and got that horrible shaky “I’ve just been sick” feeling Bleurgh.

SamanthaVimes · 01/07/2022 06:32

@HotToddyColdSauvignon oh no! That’s so rubbish! Hope you feel better soon

beetree1 · 01/07/2022 06:55

@HotToddyColdSauvignon oh no your poor thing. There’s nothing worse!

if you’re still being I’ll / can’t keep anything down I’d maybe contact the midwife and drs for advice. Hope you feel better soon x

MollyRover · 01/07/2022 07:47

@HotToddyColdSauvignon what a dose, literally!! That is the last thing you need at the moment. Get plenty of rest, good to let the midwife know too xxx

1st of July- one way or another, I can definitively say I am having a baby THIS MONTH!!

GrowBabyGrow · 01/07/2022 09:19

1st of July so my June baby is definitely going to be a July baby! Highly recommend reframing 42 weeks as your due date to help mentally when 'overdue'. I was convinced baby would come at 39 weeks because both me and my DH did but am now 40+3 and the mantra of 'baby will come when she is ready' has helped me not feel impatient and fed up!

GrowBabyGrow · 01/07/2022 09:20

@HotToddyColdSauvignon poor you! I hope that you are feeling better now.

strawberrysummer19 · 01/07/2022 09:30

I'm back in triage after another flow of fluid this morning but it was a tad more than yesterday

I was standing at the school gates and I felt a very warm trickle

After being checked yesterday and checked
They were 99% sure it wasn't my waters but have booked a scan for a week to check fluids but said to come back for anymore leakages

So I thought I'd come back again

Hopefully not the 4hrs I had yesterday

Thing is I have suspected uti and thrush and used a canestan yesterday so it may just be watery discharge ?

KizboBaggins · 01/07/2022 09:45

@GrowBabyGrow oh no don't say that, not sure I can do this for another 5 weeks 😂

It's my last day at work today. I'll be 37 weeks after this weekend. I've started not sleeping through the night which is annoying, so I'm ready to be done with work. I've slept so well this whole pregnancy but now I'm waking up and staying awake for over an hour in the middle of the night 😔

@HotToddyColdSauvignon hope you're feeling better soon! Not what you want for your last date night

@strawberrysummer19 oh bless you, it must be so stressful for you right now. Fingers crossed you're not in too long today, and all goes ok

strawberrysummer19 · 01/07/2022 09:52

@KizboBaggins see I was under the same thoughts of @GrowBabyGrow the first time around
Everyone was saying ' you won't go 40wks' even my midwife !!
So when day 40wks came I was like where are you?! She did come the next day but I I was so fed up!

This time around it's different as I'm being induced at 39wks so know i can't be late but honestly if I had the possibility of thinking it may be from 37-42 I would be feeling fed up so I feel your pain

Yes baby will come when they want but I'm slightly jealous when baby comes from 37wks
Because you're classed as term so it feels like you've done your time!!

I just try to do everything i can to prepare mentally
Positive affirmations
Use my birthing ball daily along with walking
Anything to get my cervix favourable

I had a very quick labour with my first and think maybe the prep before helped in some way

ChinChilly · 01/07/2022 10:44

@strawberrysummer19 ahh hope you’re feeling ok, you’re having a bit of a time of it atm

@KizboBaggins I’m impressed you’ve managed to sleep well up until now, I can’t remember the last full nights sleep I got, probs gonna be a while until I get one too 😂

I think I lost a good amount of my mucus plug yesterday and I think I had a few contractions yesterday although I don’t really know what they feel like but my whole stomach went tight, hard and pretty painful, it all seems to have stopped though which is frustrating although I’ve had constant period pains for about 3 days now. 38 weeks tomorrow and I am sooo done now! My friend thinks baby will be here by Monday but I’m not convinced 🙄

strawberrysummer19 · 01/07/2022 10:47

@ChinChilly I feel ok, I mean it could be worse
I'm just under 37wks so feel nothing would happen and the last thing I want is to be admitted and monitored - obviously would if I have to - but just happy to get back home !

Still waiting to see DR who needs to check it's not my fluids, by way of what's similar to a smear so just want to get that out of the way !

4hrs yesterday, 1hr 45 in so far but I've had all my obs done, baby monitoring literally just waiting for the Dr for this examination so fingers crossed it's not fluids so I can go home

Ohh sounds like I'm your body getting ready
I've had similar just no mucus plug
I went into labour straight after losing mine last time - went at 10pm, hospital at midnight, she was born at 2pm the next day

MoiraRoseIsMyQueen · 01/07/2022 11:08

@GrowBabyGrow totally agree - in France for example you’re not classed as ‘overdue’ until 42 weeks. So approach those sweeps with caution - they can cause your uterus to become ‘irritable’, so they can bring on uncomfortable contractions that basically are doing bugger all. Which can be knackering, and doesn’t exactly set you up to be energised for labour!

I’m 38+2, and having felt she was going to be early last week I’m now settled in for the long-haul 🥴 Trying to relax into it and remember that she will come when she - and my body - are ready. But I’m SO bored, I can’t do much and I’m constantly feel guilty for not enjoying this time off!

Junebaby22 · 01/07/2022 12:07

@HotToddyColdSauvignon hope you feel better soon. Definitely a good idea to let your midwife know just in case.

I agree with @GrowBabyGrow reframing 42 weeks as your due date. I'm 40+2 and also hoped to go no longer than 39 weeks! I had my first appointment with the consultant this morning and finally, his head is down 😃she also confirmed the symptoms I've been experiencing on and off for the past few days are signs of early labour. The end is neeeaaar

I've been sleeping upright for the past few days because the pelvic pressure is just too much laying on either side and brings me to tears. @Lianna93 it sounds as though I've had a similar experience as you throughout pregnancy with PSP which I'm sorry to say, doesn't seem to get any better. Although a pregnancy support belt helped a bit.

ChinChilly · 01/07/2022 13:45

@strawberrysummer19 I hope your still not waiting around the hospital!

@Junebaby22 what early labour symptoms have you been getting?

strawberrysummer19 · 01/07/2022 13:59

Sorry I forgot to update, I was released at mid day - DR confirmed it wasn't my fluid ! So I did feel a tad silly but glad I called in otherwise I would have been worrying

I hope same doesn't happen tomorrow ! Midwife suggested waiting as it seems to happen only first thing x

JJ1992 · 01/07/2022 14:57

@strawberrysummer19 sounds ike you're more than ready for baby to make an appearance! It all sounds so stressful and just.. Irritating? Hopefully you get some peace to relax tonight!

Im definitely with you girls on the low mood, can honestly say Ive had a really relaxed pregnancy but really struggling a bit with feeling like Im not achieving anything with my day at the moment. And my bf is very supportive but it feels like he is a bit 'over it' right now. Like hes bored hearing about me and baby.. since its all I have to talk about just now 😂 so obviously hormonal me finds this devastating and have been crying most nights.

@Lianna93 sorry i think I posted that by mistake! I was writing a post to @laurenGame to congratulate her on her baby but I mustve zoned out 🙈 sorry thats really annoying!!

First day of July! So excited to hear about whose baby comes next 😊 really appreciate you sharing your birth stories on here, as a FTM its so helpful to know what kind of things to expect. Im also very anxious about the whole medical side of things, but definitely feel like exposure to what CAN happen helps. Definitely going to check out the headspace app too, I used it when working through early covid times and found it so beneficial. The boys voice almost puts me to sleep!

Take care everyone ❤️lets try and enjoy our Friday night...not long until we can bring it in with a little glass of wine 😋

Hi ladies. I'm a newbie here and 40 weeks today!

Congratulations to all those that have welcomed babies already 🎉

I was on the June forum but it doesn't seem like today will be baby boys birthday or even tomorrow. I've been having period like cramps, pelvic pressure and belly getting hard on and off since Monday. These symptoms were really bad yesterday but lessened today, with baby's movement increasing (jabbing like movements in deep pelvic area). I'm not convinced this is early labour. Maybe braxton hicks?? I dont have anything to compare it to as i'm a first time mum🤷🏾‍♀️

We have a midwife appointment on Friday. Although I'm soooooo ready to meet baby boy, I plan to keep waiting it out for a spontaneous birth unless there's a sudden medical need for intervention.

I totally hadn't thought about hospital snacks. Thanks for the tip 😃

@ChinChilly

paintfairy · 01/07/2022 17:57

@ShellUK09 Congratulations! 🎉 She's so small and cute!

I'm almost 37 weeks now and my mood isn't low. However I think I'm more irritable and less patient than ever. 🤣
