Aww @legaltigger you’re not a bad mum! I literally had 1 and a half hours annual leave left to take, otherwise I’d have missed my little girls sports day today too. I know how heartbroken it makes you feel though when you get mum guilt, try not to beat yourself up x

legaltigger · 20/06/2022 20:48

I think I'm just really emotional about things at the moment :( I know she doesn't really care but it was just something I wanted to go and see. It's hard balancing work and being mum. I work in a school and I can't take time off in term time

Redapple21 · 20/06/2022 22:50

@Sweetbabydust1989 @TurquoiseDreamCatcher oh what are people like with these comments! They really need to think before they speak. Imagine if we commented on their bodies! I'm sure you both look great!
Gosh it's warm tonight, got myself a new tower fan which I'm just going to point at myself in bed all night!

Redapple21 · 20/06/2022 22:52

@legaltigger ahh don't be hard on yourself, it's so tough. As they say, women are expected to work as though they don't have children, and raise children as though they don't work. At times it's just impossible, and you can only do your best. Big hugs x

Pregnancy rant #10000 here 😂, apologies in advance. 30 weeks, 9 max to go, which feels so far away. Baby currently in my rib cage, so sitting up is uncomfortable, and I feel like I can’t breathe properly. Screwed up my ankle, for a week now I’ve had what feels like shin splints or a stress fracture, so walking hurts and I’ve been unable to workout, and I’m an exercise junkie, so sitting on my arse, doing nothing is killing me. Anyway. Rant officially over. Keep mentally reciting how lucky I am to be this far in and ok, which has a short term positive effect. Then I look at my thighs and feel like a blimp 😂. How are you all doing?

madeleine85 · 21/06/2022 06:42

But my dog fell asleep today with his head fully on my bump which he has never done before. He’s so so nervous usually. Little one is kicking him. And I’m emotionally overwhelmed by my pup ❤️🐶

@madeleine85 I am 30 weeks too and cannot imagine being bigger or more uncomfortable. I am not super fit normally but exercise quite regularly normally, but have been ill throughout the pregnancy so haven't been exercising a lot... I also looked at my thighs yesterday and wondered whose they were. I haven't even put on much weight according to the scales!

I tried to walk up the train station steps two at a time yesterday and nearly keeled over... That was a shock to the system.

I also love my food and was looking forward to the third trimester "eating extra 200 calories" business. There is no room to eat more. There is a baby in the way!!

That is SO CUTE !

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 21/06/2022 08:46

@madeleine85 I just wanted to give you sympathy for your ribs. When I was pregnant with my oldest, she was a breech baby and settled with her head under my right ribs. She didn't budge at all, the pain was awful. When I touch my ribs now, they have a slight curve in them from where her head was for months!

madeleine85 · 21/06/2022 17:48

Thanks everyone. It is amazing how a little kind act from a dog can really lift your day :). My bad mood went out the window!

@LaddieCthulu I am meant to go for a hike with some friends tomorrow, we have a weekly one we do, but haven't been for a month or so, and I think I am going to be embarassingly bad. Time will tell though. Sorry you're also feeling the slow discomfort of the third trimester. Also a little nervous as I dehydrated out my DD on a hot hike starting labour at 31.5 weeks last time, and i'm 30 weeks already now, so i'm going to have to start being careful. My doctor is going to think I am a complete numpty if I do that more than once.

@TurquoiseDreamCatcher it is insane that carrying a child can permanently alter your body! My DD was so small, and premie that I never had this discomfort, and in fact I barely felt her, even though she was in another month. I'm trying to take the positive from this that maybe this means that the little boy in me is growing healthily and is well, so will make it to full term. Fingers crossed anyway (for all of us on that front)!

annlee3817 · 22/06/2022 09:54

Also 30 weeks and sympathy on the rib side of things, I wake up at 4.30am most days now because she is wedged in my left rib and I can't get back to sleep as it's too uncomfortable 😴 @madeleine85 sorry you're injured, can you see a physio and get some strength exercises to do, I find that helps when I can't be my usual active self, I focus on strength when I have a running injury, so work on building muscle in my glutes and quads.

I'm off to see Alannis Morrisette tomorrow night with my best friend, can't wait, but not sure the baby will be as happy, she's already a total fidget, so am expecting it to ramp up with the concert noise.

legaltigger · 22/06/2022 10:07

@annlee3817 probably will have a good kick about! Whenever I play rammstein in my car little one kicks like hell!

Butterflytulip · 22/06/2022 10:07

I can't believe I'm 29 weeks today! Hope everyone is keeping well and not into much discomfort. I didn't have any issues last pregnancy and still don't need the pregnancy pillow at night. Fingers crossed that continues for the next 10 weeks! I have my c section planned in, feels good to have a date! 😊

Celyn22 · 22/06/2022 10:23

Hey everyone, how is everyone coping in the heat? I am at a festival this week - working although not too many hours. I'm struggling with all the walking, and my partner knows quite a few people here as has been coming for years, so there's lots of stopping to have mini-catch-ups each time we go out which makes things take longer and I find I get disoriented in the brightness and heat. Also finding it hard to stay hydrated as it makes me need to wee so often and there aren't many toilets around nearby, and of course they are disgusting already and it's only been crew here so far! I forgot suncream too... and I feel unattractive on all my closes, so self esteem isn't very high right now. The list goes on... my belly hurts in lots of positions and I am now having to sleep with pillows and rolled up blankets to support my boobs, belly, hips, knees and ankles! I'm finding it too hot having all the extra fabric so close to me.

30 weeks today and feeling silly for agreeing to come and be away in this type of environment.

And I forgot to bring chocolate with me :(

Sweetbabydust1989 · 22/06/2022 11:31

@Butterflytulip I am only 27 weeks 2 days coping ok with the heat trying to stay in as much as poss I am not working which I am glad about now worked out it won't affect my maternity leave as it will just 2 payslips prior in a way it's done me a little favour as my enhanced is affected so won't get it but least I won't owe my company any money If I decide to leave... little girl is still breech hoping she shifts of it will be a c section for me I am trying to decide wether to just have one done as she is on the little small size I am not sure I could manage having them manually turn her I am only small as it is I will probs end up with some sore ribs 🙈 xx

madeleine85 · 22/06/2022 17:33

@annlee3817 I'm just going low impact now, with gentle walks, and did some yoga this morning. I find that when I do calf raises and try to stretch it out that it does get better, so going to keep going with that for now. I cannot wait for 8-9 weeks when there is instant weight loss just to get the pressure off my poor legs! Alannis Morrisett is so iconic! Have the most wonderful time :)

@Celyn22 you are brave doing a concert and being up/moving all day at this stage! Serious credit to you. I am dead on my feet without a daily lunch nap right now! Really hope that you found some chocolate!

Em85kk · 22/06/2022 19:00

My turn for going to the assessment unit for reduced movement today. Thought he’d been a bit quiet last 2 evenings, but I’d felt him a bit in the night and then quiet again today. They were lovely and put me on the monitor for a bit. They struggled to find his heartbeat at first and then when she did get it he was wriggling away, took 10-15 mins for him to settle and then they could monitor him. I could hear him moving via the monitor but wasn’t feeling it. He must have moved position because then he was giving out massive kicks!

Glad I went, I think I knew it was just his position as when I did feel him it was very low and to the sides, but I just kept thinking what if something was wrong and I ignored it. It’s so much responsibility to look after this little one!

Flibbyjibby · 22/06/2022 19:27

Had a 28 week scan today due to raised dopplers at my 20 week scan. Dopplers absolutely fine this time but the abdominal circumference is measuring off the chart so they want me to have another GTT (already had one at 20 weeks and it was all clear… not even borderline!). All other measurements are 50th centile or below so I’m pretty sure it’s just a baby with a big belly!

Feeling a bit fed up with all these appointments I’m having to go to now because as I’m a teacher I have to miss lessons every time! Some classes have had more cover lessons than actual lessons this term and I feel awful.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 22/06/2022 21:06

So had a scan today and was told my little ones weight she is only weighing 2lb 1oz at 27 weeks 2 days they said she is on the smaller side I am high risk for small babies so have more growth scans not sure if I should be too worried my first baby was only 4lb7oz due to a placenta issue picked up very late in my pregnancy and my second baby was only 6lb7oz hoping she may catch up xx

Peauela · 22/06/2022 23:06

Hi all, just catching up with the thread after holidays.

Anyone's baby likes to hang out on one side? Mine seems to like my left side more and to be honest it's creeping me out as a part of her body, my guess would be her bum, is clearly sticking out on one side 😂 ahhh the joys.

I'm 27 weeks today, booking our 4D scan for the first week in July.

To be honest I'm slowly starting to feel uncomfortable, baby is moving a lot in the womb which is lovely but also painful at times when she goes on for hours, and bending over and tighter clothes are a no go for me anymore.

legaltigger · 22/06/2022 23:10

Yup bending is a challenge! Having to do sumo squats to pick stuff up from the floor (I.e. dd's tiny socks haha).

madeleine85 · 22/06/2022 23:46

@Peauela hope the holiday was good! I have a right side dweller. Really uncomfortable up in my rib cage. My DH was answering work emails last night while I was trying to put a night nappy on our 2 year old, and I could not bend. He was summoned and I think I was a little bit snarky... oops. The belly pressure feels worse at night time than morning I think.

MummyToBe2022 · 23/06/2022 06:38

@Flibbyjibby I'm the same feeling like I've not been at work enough. I'm a TA but do have my own groups for maths, English and phonics plus ELSA sessions with a range of children.

I feel so bad that I'm letting them down all of the time and trying to get someone to cover me is a nightmare, obviously the ELSA sessions just have to be picked up some other time.

Hope baby does get bigger with each scan to help you relax a little. It's good that they are scanning you so often to keep an eye on things.

I finally feel like we are actually getting things ready for baby.
Pushchair was ordered this week, nursery is nearly ready, just need bedding and curtains.
Still have no clothes so think we are going shopping this weekend for a few bits. I'm 28+5 so still a long time to go but I know once the holidays come it will fly

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 23/06/2022 09:18

@Peauela I've got a 4d scan booked for 2nd July, we are taking 4 year old DD along so she can see her baby sister.

I was excited last night to see a bit of clear liquid leaking from one of my boobs last night. This never happened in my last pregnancy.

I'm really suffering in the heat at the moment 😢 I had another bad night of sleep last night, I'm hopeful that tonight that I'll be so tired that I'll just pass out.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 23/06/2022 10:02

@Peauela yes my little girl has been breech for weeks head in my ribs so uncomfortable!! Had a scan yesterday and got to see her basically sucking her toes was so funny I am hoping she turns xx
