@Mum2two2022 pretty much snap on having an almost 2 year old and similar due date this pregnancy !!!! Im a week ahead of you.
2 year age gap is lovely but we are going to be so tired!!!! My partner is excited but also very nervous about whether he'll cope!!!

GlitteryGreen · 10/08/2022 15:56

@Sweetbabydust1989 @Redapple21 Glad to hear it's not just me! The midwives have mentioned the discharge thing but I have tried everything they advised - like weeing a bit, then stopping before collecting the next bit etc etc - but it's hard when I'm weeing 100 times a day and am worried I won't get enough for the sample 😂 Funnily enough I've just checked my results due to writing this to you and it's come back negative anyway.

@Sweetbabydust1989 I think my birth plan appointment is the next one at 36 weeks (will actually be 37 for me) so I'm not too worried about that but it's more trying to get it straight in my own mind. Even though I know they often go out the window anyway, I think I'd feel better going in with the idea that I sort of knew what might happen 😅

Mum2two2022 · 10/08/2022 16:08

@Butterflytulip how crazy!! My daughter is a handful at the mo so worried how I am going to juggle a newborn in hopefully less than a month 😂😂 time is running out

110APiccadilly · 10/08/2022 17:38

Well, I'm now officially on maternity leave!

Birth plan is done, Moses basket is set up (though we need to work on DD's tendency to throw all her teddies in it), and gran (my mum) is booked in for looking after DD while I'm in hospital. Just need the induction to happen according to schedule on Monday now.

awwbiscuits · 10/08/2022 17:50

Growth scan number 2 tomorrow 🙄 the midwife said if he's measuring fine tomorrow they won't measure me again. So annoying.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 10/08/2022 17:53

@GlitteryGreen oh it's a minefield it's not just you at all I will be doing one again Friday they usually give a jug but trying to pour that into those tiny contains without you spilling it on your hand is a nightmare so I do it in the privacy of my own home 😂 xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 10/08/2022 17:54

@Butterflytulip oh I need to I have no kids for a few days so might start I think I am putting off pulling tags off just incase she comes out a boy 😂 I have everything apart from baby milk and big knickers for some reason big knickers are out of stock in my size 😂 xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 10/08/2022 21:50

Do those not breast feeding when did or will you be buying baby milk I am trying to decide wether it's to early to buy it xx

awwbiscuits · 10/08/2022 22:10

We've got 2 tubs of formula and a pack of ready made already :) @Sweetbabydust1989

Sweetbabydust1989 · 10/08/2022 22:22

awwbiscuits · 10/08/2022 22:38

Sweetbabydust1989 · 10/08/2022 22:44

First day of maternity leave today... feels incredibly surreal! I was wandering about at 4am scouting the best place for a changing station on the top floor of our house and wondering if I can use my office desk effectively for it 😂

How is everyone doing?

@HaresHoping I have been off since May well sick leave anyway because that idiot hit my car my maternity leave doesn't start until my due date I have holiday to use before hand so I would of technically finished work next week but I no what you mean it does feel weird to be off.. I have been doing so much baking for my kids it's unreal and when I say kids I mean myself 😂

On another note I managed to get big kickers 😂 only milk left to get and my hospital bag is complete well when I actually pack them 🤦🏻‍♀️.. got midwife tomorrow and final scan next week so happy these apps are coming to an end now it's rather bitter sweet xx

I would recommend putting the changing station in the bathroom if you possibly can. Makes reaching with the most spectacular nappies much easier (there's been occasions when DD has gone pretty much straight in the bath once I've got her undressed!)

110APiccadilly · 11/08/2022 12:12

That was meant to say managing with the most spectacular nappies, not reaching!

Mum2two2022 · 11/08/2022 12:19

So 35 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child today and I think things are definitely heading the in right direction.

  • upset stomach for about a week or so now
  • real bad back
  • increase discharge (a lot with every wipe and thick)
  • lightening crouch
  • pain down there.

This is very similar to what I went through with my first pregnancy however i didn’t really get these symptoms until 36-37 weeks I have birth at 38 weeks 4 days with my first.

Anyone similar situation? My daughter is 2 on the 2nd of September and she is defo keeping me on my toes.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 11/08/2022 12:44

@Mum2two2022 I have been having the same as you I am 34 weeks and 3 days however I have been having shortness of breath, serve swollen feet to the point I can hardly walk and my heart burn has been so bad not even gaviscon works had this all since the end of June each time I mention these the midwives fob me off but my mum who has a history of preeclampsia and other pregnancy related issues has told me to express my concerns tomorrow when I see the midwife again xx

Butterflytulip · 11/08/2022 15:05

@Sweetbabydust1989 loving the big knickers!! I got a multipack from M&S and still have them from
Last pregnancy. I actually wore them for a good 3 months if not longer! It was same time of year I gave birth so big pants perfect for sept-spring!!
I also wore my nursing bra as it was non wired for embarrassingly over a year!! Must get some crop top style bras when my boobs return to normal!!

110APiccadilly · 11/08/2022 19:05

I'm still wearing nursing bras, even though DD weaned just before Christmas! To start with I couldn't get a fitting appointment easily and then I just thought, "Well, I'll be going back into them soon enough, might as well just carry on!" They're very comfy.

Mum2two2022 · 12/08/2022 07:08

Last night I had the worst shooting pains downs there on and off for about an hour. I think he is defo in position as I couldn't even sit properly as it felt like he was there 😂 I've got a funny r feeling little man might be coming early, as didn't have this last time!

Em85kk · 12/08/2022 16:59

Saw the anaesthetist today, what a waste of time. No epidural as my platelets are too low (already knew that). No spinal for a section if they drop below 80 (already knew that too!). He was such an odd bloke as well, at least I got some air con whilst in the car.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 12/08/2022 17:08

Can this get any worse I might have a clot in my lung I have honestly had enough now xx

Em85kk · 12/08/2022 17:22

@Sweetbabydust1989 oh crap! Are you in hospital?

Sweetbabydust1989 · 12/08/2022 17:29

@Em85kk been here all day had midwife this morning and she told me to go straight to the MAU I have had a ecg done and a chest X-ray having a big scan on Monday or Tuesday I want to cry on the up baby is fine it's all me 🥺 I have to do daily injections and I am needle phobic 🤦🏻‍♀️ I just want her out now Xx
