So ladies, I had my baby girl at 37+1 on 18/06/2022! I can't quite believe it xx

Congratulations! That didn't take long from your first show! How did everything go and how are you getting on? Hope your daughter is settling in well with you xx

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK well done for just going in, and hopefully your wee one stays put a little longer to help their wee lungs!

beetree1 · 19/06/2022 07:01

Congratulations @Capricorn8990 and welcome to the world to your little girl. What amazing news!

hope youโ€™re doing okay @Fingerscrossedfor2021HK i had no idea they could stop contractions. Iโ€™ve been having period cramps as well but canโ€™t remember if I had them with the first and theyโ€™re not constant either

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 19/06/2022 07:31

Congrats Capricorn!!! And baby Capricorn :)

@Capricorn8990 congratulations ๐Ÿ’• How are you feeling? Glad the baby arrived safe! What were your first labour symptoms after your show?

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK well done for going in! Hope the contractions stay away for another few weeks to let baby grow some more. Must have been scary! Sending you lots of love! ๐Ÿ’•

strawberrysummer19 · 19/06/2022 08:32

@annie1994 I'm right down the bottom in the south ๐Ÿ˜€
Had my baby shower yesterday and received some wonderful gifts
Officially on count down, one week left at work and I'm off!
Soooo lovely it's cooler today and it's Father's Day - yay!!!
Have loved this weekend x

@Capricorn8990oh wow what a lovely update to read this morning! Congratulations ๐ŸŽ‰ xx

It's so exiting that we shall be seeing more and more of these over the next month ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Fingerscrossedfor2021HK · 19/06/2022 09:40

Thank you ladies. It is a little scary as my hospital bag isnโ€™t even packed yet and nursery isnt quite ready but I guess we wonโ€™t be going home very fast if he does make an early appearance so there is a bit of time in hand to quickly get his little clothes and blankets washed!

I just hope that we can keep him safe in there for at least another week or so. I have placenta previa which adds another layer of worry but at least I am in the hospital so they can act fast if they need to.

Hope everyone else has a less eventful journey to delivery day! x

annie1994 · 19/06/2022 10:37

@Capricorn8990 aahh congratulations! How exciting, hope you and baby are doing good ๐Ÿ’•

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK hope you're doing ok, I bet that was a bit of a shock to find out itโ€™s real contractions! Least youโ€™re in the safest place. Hopefully baby cooks a little longer ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ

Hope3821 · 19/06/2022 11:12

@Capricorn8990 Congratulations!! So delighted for you ๐Ÿ’–Hope you and baby girl are recovering well XX
My midwife just told me yesterday that as a first time mum I'm unlikely to labour until 40/41 weeks but now I'm going to be on alert!

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK Sending lots of positive vibes, that must be very stressful. Whatever happens take it easy on yourself, you're doing amazing!

ChinChilly · 19/06/2022 16:03

ChinChilly · 19/06/2022 21:35

I really feel like something has changed the last few days, I'm getting alot of stabbing pains at the sides of bump, period pains and lower back ache I'm 36+2 so doubt it's anything happening but the thought of another 4 weeks like this does not sound like fun

CaptainCarp · 19/06/2022 22:23

@ChinChilly it could be baby dropping / engaging?
I got sone hip pain & backache then realised my bump was significantly lower. Its settled down after a couple of days like baby had stopped jabbing me or something.

Not going to lie babys movements feel really wierd now though ๐Ÿ˜‚ although not usually painful.

NamelessBaby1 · 19/06/2022 22:35

@ChinChilly also sounds like your body starting to get ready for labour!
Agree with @CaptainCarp , movements do feel weird at this point, and I was just pointing out to my husband how lopsided my bump is tonight and it feels like the baby is making a bum first bid for freedom out my side ! So uncomfortable!

ChinChilly · 19/06/2022 22:59

@CaptainCarp @NamelessBaby1 oh gosh I haven't packed any bags or even washed any clothes... must do that this week! I think my bump does look lower tbh and agree the movements have felt wierd, really uncomfortable at times. I get the lopsided thing aswell.

I've got a midwife appointment on Tuesday and another growth scan on Wednesday so we'll see if they give me any indication if anything is going on.

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 19/06/2022 23:24

My bump has gone from perfect egg shape to lopsided weird triangle too @NamelessBaby1

looks a bit like a toblerone nowadays!

CaptainCarp · 19/06/2022 23:30

@ChinChilly don't want to freak you out but I would definitely get some washing on & the bags packed over the next few days. As capricorn has already had our 1st baby of the group at just 37+1!

On the flip side everything I read says baby dropping engaging might indicate labour or may not so you could have a few weeks left yet!

Lianna93 · 20/06/2022 05:02

Don't think I'm too far away ladies ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Sorry in advance for the tmi... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
Yesterday was something else.
3 loose bowel movements throughout the day. Then towards the end of the day, started getting some intense lower back pain. Then was getting shooting pains in my vagina ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Was getting pain all around my waist/rib area too.
Was struggling to walk due to the pain.
I've potentially lost part of my mucus plug but unsure as it was at the same time as a bowel movement ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
Took some paracetamol & made a hot water bottle, fell asleep for a few hours then woke back of 3 and then back pain was insane - felt like I was about to start my period ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
Went back to bed & suddenly everything is back to normal... I just feel absolutely exhausted after all of that. Like right now I feel weirdly okay, just a little bit of pain round my ribs again but nothing major like it was yesterday.

Dunno if I've been experiencing Braxton hicks, or if that's my body getting itself ready to start labour but I'm definitely convinced I'm having a June baby ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚

Capricorn8990 · 20/06/2022 06:12

Thank you for everyoneโ€™s well wishes and congratulations! Itโ€™s such a surreal feeling but an amazing one at that and Iโ€™d go through labour again. I ended up having an epidural which I didnโ€™t envision but I was in labour for only around 4/5 hours.

I had been at work in the morning on the Saturday, but my mucus plug came away on the Friday. I went into be monitored as having regular monitoring and midwife said all was okay. On Friday evening I got a really bad lower back with period pains. On Saturday I was getting braxton hicks and lower back pain but went into work to sort some things out. I knew something wasnโ€™t right so I asked if I could leave and start my maternity. Baby girl wasnโ€™t moving as much so I called the hospital and she told me to come in. As I was waiting I went to the loo and my waters had broken! It was mixed with her poo so I was taken to the delivery suite and hooked up to the machine. I think this was around 11.45 and she arrived at 16.25.

I'm in for 48 hours from birth as Iโ€™m on sertraline but other than feeling tired Iโ€™m okay and baby girl is - touch wood. Sheโ€™s 6lbs 2oz and Iโ€™m totally in love.

Make sure your hospital bags are packed or you at least have everything to hand to chuck in.

I hope youโ€™re okay @Fingerscrossedfor2021HK xxx
